Medical laboratory scientist here, hard to tell exactly but the organisms I saw Dans mouth: streptococcus species, totally normal mouth flora Arin’s crotch: yeast Dirty sonic: hard for me to tell but the black growth and the way they commented on the smell suggests normal fecal bacteria. I am a microbiologist. Most of it was probably environmental bacterial and fungal spores which are totally harmless. It's hard to tell exactly what just by looking at it. Honestly for me, the fastest way to ball-park identify a bacteria is by its smell.

Actually used to teach a lab like this at a university. It's hard to tell for sure what sort of bacterium is based on just the culture characteristics but you were totally right about the mold. Molds have those hairlike structures and often overwhelm the plate. One thing to point out is that if a plate doesn't look like it grew, doesn't mean that there wasn't bacteria on the object you swabbed. Bacteria can be picky about the temperature you grow them at so it could very well just not grown. Same goes for the other growth conditions. Agar is a great general medium but it does not grow everything. Agar itself is just a structure in which bacteria can grow on. Most don't use it for nutrients so it depends on what sort of other stuff is mixed with it. One last thing, I may have died a little inside seeing the first attempt at trying to make the plates. Lol. You gotta treat it like jello powder. Enjoyed the show!

I work in a microbiology lab, specifically with mold and fungus. I wear gloves a lab coat and work in a biological safety hood. Hope David didn't have any mold that's too harmful cause y'all definitely inhaled spores

I’ve worked in a microbiology lab for a few years and that fuzzy stuff is fungus and since yall opened the plate the spores are likely everywhere soooo lol. Fungus spores can get all over, shouldve left the plate closed and worn gloves and mask 😅 Also if that one colony on the Dan’s mouth plate is the only thing that grew, the sample was either collected wrong (looked like it cuz he didn’t swab long enough but he didn’t know) or not incubated correctly. There should have been a lot of strep species growing and white colonies of some staph species which are normal flora for the mouth and throat. Fun fact: not seen in the video from what I saw but theres an environmental bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa that, when grown on a blood agar plate, often produces shimmery silver colonies and smells like grape!

The dinos are so iconic so seeing them be animated like that is so much fun! Now even if I feel bad every time they uniquely leave the set, I think that means they'll be going through a new adventure every time just to get back up there!

Friendly reminder that David Cheeseman was roughly 3 and a half years old during this (give or take a couple months depending on how far apart the upload dates were from the release dates). That thing is a flat out biohazard by this point 😂 Edit: Based on them saying "It's been 3 months" Cheeseman was probably just a little over 3 years old at the start as opposed to nearing 3 and a half. Regardless, cheese left out for 3 years is still WILD and I can only imagine the smell of it alone took a year off their lifespan

The black fuzzy stuff in Arins balls is likely contamination because it doesn’t appear they sealed the edges of the dishes. Also their intuition that David chessman’s bacteria is more dangerous is likely correct.
