After watching WGI, I can totally see the improvement in Zo (and even Jack), but especially Zo in big situations

Man, Zo also getting better on mound is pretty cool, especially seeing how he didn't look good or coachable his first few appearances and or tournaments but now he's actually legit good

So awesome Dale Scott agreed to do this! I'm an umpire and I've always thought he was one of the best in the game for the past 15 years or so

Everybody wanted that strike call, but come on, it clearly crossed the plate at Jolly's head. Blue missed a bunch of calls, but that wasn't one of them.

I can't be the only one who thinks this was so embarrassing to watch haha. Having a catcher in blitzball is completely ridiculous - virtually every single pitch popped out of Jimmy's hands and he had to go chasing it down. It just looked so messy and tedious. On top of that, there were so many walks - Dale Scott must have thought JM sucked. Don't do this format again - the regular format is amazing as is.

This reminded me of something I've always wondered - in Blitzball, why not call a strike that hits the zone a "called strike"? Same concept as baseball - batter doesn't swing but it hits the zone... called strike! Dale is awesome and this was a cool idea guys. Love seeing the warehouse developments too. Can't wait for BB3!

Jolly’s 2-2 count bottom of the 1st end of the video, the “controversial” call was very much so a ball, not a “no strike call”. Where the catcher caught it is a dead strike, but where that ball crossed the plate was at or above jolly’s shoulders

Listen I can't be the only one who thought this was going to be underwater...

At roughly 24 minutes and 10 seconds is the replay of the catcher getting the dreaded 3-1 count. At 3105 you can see why pitch framing has become a big part of todays game. The umpire is set up in the slot on the inside corner. As the ball approaches the outer third the umpire loses sight of the ball in the final 2-3 feet of travel. That ball finishes well outside the plate but was called a strike because it was traveling straight when last seen by the umpire. Umpires now use protective gear inside their clothing as opposed to the balloon protectors. As this change occurred in the nl and al one league stayed with the balloon protectors and one with modern equipment. The league with the balloon protectors set up behind and over the catcher and had a larger zone up and down whereas the league with modern style gear became a wider east west zone strike zone. Players and catchers in particular figured this out and pitch framing is the result.
