Grew up trout fishing in Tennessee with my grandfather. Rarely did he cast . He always got above the hole an gently put his bait in the fast moving water an it took the bait to the fish an scored bout every time if there was a fish in the hole. Movement is based! My best friend passed away in January of 22 at 43 after battling medical issues his whole life. He was cremated and taken to elk camp. Now he’s running, jumping, and doing all the stuff he couldn’t his whole life. The pain is finally gone.

Well that’s hunting. I’ve got myself a few elk. It’s not easy. Especially packing it out. I will say everyone around here in central Oregon has a hoochy moma. They work so good. My friend son practiced it around the campfire the night before season opener. I swore we heard elk in the dark. Sure enough there were tracks on the road in the morning.

Lookong forward to the podcast! I'm 28, single, completely debt free (but not too wealthy beyond that) and moving to Alaska in the spring. My plan is to work toward living self sufficiently as much as possible and work to become more and more so as time moves on. Hey y'all, it is never summer there. I'm from SE Tn. so the temperatures that we have is what I expect. I rode a bicycle and went to Colorado several times for the Bicycle Tour of Colorado. We were staying in a town called Estes Park on the east side of the Rocky Mountain National Park. On June 20th they said there was a blizzard on top of Trail Ridge Road but the road might be open later that day. The only blizzard I knew about on June 20th was at Dairy Queen so myself and other out of towners start climbing. We rode in freezing rain about an hour with 40 mph winds before the ice started. You haven't experienced cold until you've ridden a bicycle in a Colorado blizzard. The road never opened and they drove us down to Granby for the night. We trained in the Smokies at 90 to 100 degree heat then arrive there where it frosts most nights. There's a large elk population west of Pagosa Springs in the Chimney Rock area. They were all in the ditches along San Juan St, apparently car season had just opened?!
