"One day maybe they'll be worth something more than sentimental value" I guarantee if you guys auctioned those legendary props off now you'd see how much your channel means to a lot of people
its so sad to see those old props being let go, it really gave the trip to memory lane as you guys decide whether to keep it or not, still, great video guys, looking forward for more!
Yeah this is a reeeeeally short sighted and dumb decision hahaha They JUST went to Adams and saw all his cool props, why the hell would they get rid of all their own iconic stuff? I know you need to clean up but it's sad
@@KaladinVegapunk it is kinda, but it's just they can't keep hold of them for ever, sooner or later they will have more props to put there, and more memories to be made, more videos to watch, it's not all bad to let go, but it's a rough start
@@KaladinVegapunk I'm not trying to be a dick but lets be real these props are no where near as interesting or as iconic as stuff Adam had. The only reason people are in their feels abput this is purely nostalgia
Jakes unimopressed dad look over his shoulder at people using the pogo stick, followed by a quick cut to him on the pogo stick is a freakin masterwork. 10/10 editing.
Probably just not worth it financially. Cataloguing the items, creating the listings, dealing with shipping... it all takes so much time away from what actually makes them money, making videos.
Mark got a genuine jump out of me and it was a pleasant surprise to learn our boy's trying to pick up cgi from the best there is. Y'all be patient with him and thanks for all the videos and memories y'all bring
@@theninjamaster67 don't worry, I have no intention of taking your pogo stick 🙂 I'm just surprised in this time where just about everything that has even the slightest potential to hurt someone gets pulled off the market, or even is made illegal, the pogo stick has survived all scrutiny.
@@aidannankervis7758 Yes you did you liar lmao. The comment immediately below you is a dude who wrote the exact same thing except he wrote it an hour before you.
@@silverstaralchemist It's not the similar thought thing though. I'd be fine with that. It's that it's an exact COPY PASTE of someone else's comment that came before him.
I'm glad they said they were attempting to donate the stuff. I would have loved to see them get a gallery space and have a "Corridor Art Show" or something where the important or memorable props could be viewed and bid on though.
I dont think they said exactly that, it seem more like the trash man is going to do that on his time and the Corridor crews like O, that's a great idea! Wish we thought of that!
This comment is so out of touch, the would have to buy a space, have a gallery of props, the non super sentimental props they didn't keep in this video if they were to bid it, and that would require a good amount of attention and so much more work to do that
@@TheCat_3 It would be a massive amount of work they could turn into an entire video series, get sponsors for location and event to offset costs, have a memorable event for fans and staff, and likely brake even just on sales. But since Corridor isn't a massive production scale company running their own events with that kind of ability and staff in place it makes way more sense to do what they did here. That's why it's "I would have loved to see" instead of "They should have done instead".
I understand that though I personally would love some kinda prop from them tbh. I love to have things on display that can tell a story and be a conversation piece.
A possibility for the future when getting rid of props and such: offer them to your website subcribers first, just charge shipping, then offer a second batch to your youtube subscribers the same way. This will give your supporters a chance to get their hands on a piece of history while acknowledge their help and support throughout the years. I would definitely partake. You could also do auctions for the more iconic and rare pieces, putting that money back into the studio and shows, I know a lot of people would love to get some of the stuff and know it's supporting more of your amazing content.
@@taicoromandel7408 I used to live in LA, would've happily volunteered to help handle that kind of thing in exchange for a prop. I'm sure there are others who would too, my point is that these guys have had such a large impact on their audience that there is a happy middle ground that would be easily reached for fans to get some props while making it worth the crews while. *shrug* anyways it's why I'm suggesting it as a possibility for the future, since they already donated their stuff.
To be honest, it seems that many (not all) people from the USA throw things away before considering selling/auctioning or sending things to a thrift store/donating.
@@pbilk yes, it's good or bad depending on the situation, like this I lean towards giving back to the fans rather than random donation. But it can also be good to throw things away, not hold onto them when you shouldn't or sell them when you get less back than it takes to sell. Anyway, it's an interesting problem
Dubstep Guns was my introduction to y'all and after that I watched everything you came out with for the next 5 or 6 years. I still fondly remember the first-person office parkour shootout vid, although it's been so long I don't remember what it was called
Really touching how choked up Nick got when talking about the sentimental value of everything Corridor has accumulated over these past few years. As someone who has been with them since day 1, I can understand how tough it is to let go of these iconic pieces. Here's to 10 more years of content.
Jake has cleaned the prop room so many times and this is the first time it's made me tear up. The guillotine coming down, old clips. Dang it guys you got me.
"It's hard for me to let go of things that have memories attached to them." Same. I'm a recovering hoarder, and it's not easy going thru all my junk. Seems like most of your stuff does have a use though, unlike in my situation. I'll have plenty of time in the next few days to throw away some of these obscurely sentimental things. 🥺
Wow, I just spent the whole weekend clearing out my garage, this is so on point! It is the only way - clear all the old stuff to make way for the new, clear the old blocked energies adn if somethgn is good then get it out and enjoy it!!!
I've been watching your channel ever since you released Frozen Crossing. This was an emotional one your fans are right there with you on this one. Watching Jake breakdown the guillotine all I could think was I'm so proud of you Jake. You finally got that beer money 🥺
This video honestly makes me cry and very sad in lots of ways. Just nostalgia and the history and all of the old memories…. I guess bc I’m also especially sensitive to that stuff rn bc recent deaths in my family. Memories are so important. Even the “boring” or “Simple” memories.. and none of us really tune in to those moments or realize them until after we’ve lost someone that we’ll never get back. It’s sad. For real. Wish more of us would realize, in simple moments, waiting in line for fast food, or sitting on the couch with your grandpa, I wish more of us would realize IN that moment, how special it is.
Very awesome that y'all donated so much of the stuff you decided to part with! They will be enjoyed by those who receive them as thoroughly as you all did guaranteed! Decluttering is tough sentimentally but also very cathartic and needed in life! Cheers Corridor Crew!
HeLlO eVeRy BoDy, mY nAmE iS mArKiPlIeR and welcome back to my corridor internship but in all seriousness i cant wait to see the dawn of a new age of corridor videos... letting go of my child hood and welcoming these new videos as i move on to college will be a memory that i shall remember forever!
I feel like you guys could open a warehouse and display most of this stuff with the original videos playing on loop like a museum and sell tickets or give access to paid subs and it would be amazing.
The moment at 3:43 sums up Corridor perfectly for me - a shot of Jake turning to see Nick using the pogo-stick where he looks kind of annoyed, but moments later, Jake is on the pogo stick himself. :)
I’m so glad this crew found a way to get back into the RU-vid algorithm. It’s become one of a few channels from the early 2010’s that are still relevant on RU-vid today. It’s so cool seeing all these props from a decade or more ago and the memories they bring.
I miss this type of video from y'all. I used to binge multiple of them in the background while working, was like hanging out with friends. Now that they're mostly paywalled off, it makes me sad.
Yeah I feel you. I’ve been hanging around here since ~2016. Not to say the videos on the channel have gotten worse though. In some ways they’ve gotten better. But it’s just different. I completely understand where they’re coming from- RU-vid is rather unstable these days so to make a comfortable living off of it you kinda need a paid subscription service. But to put the content I used to watch, and really want to see behind money is a little annoying. Vlog Creations (another RU-vid channel I like) does the same thing. They make RU-vid videos, then they have a paid subscription service on their own website. But it’s not different content. Just the same, but more of it. And I think that’s the way to go. Again, I really want to reinstate that I mean no disrespect toward Corridor. I just miss the old vlog-style videos.
Prism was the first short I'd ever seen by you guys without even connecting the dots until years later and it was such a great flashback to see the proto prop for prism
Rip guillotine channel. I understand Nick’s perspective. I am also a very sentimental person and have a really hard time throwing things away. Sad to see some of it go, but happy we still have all the memories on video.
That was actually really sweet and inspiring, thanks for sharing. I think it's a really important practice to clear out, renew the energy in a space and learn to let go. beautiful!
What a trip down memory lane, I've followed you guys since the start. It was fun seeing all the iconic props, but there is nothing wrong with seeing them go. Keep up the great work, Love you guys!
Damn. This stuff made my childhood on the internet. The dubstep guns, minecraft props, gravity gun or tether armour made the internet fun when there was SO much garbage.
I once worked at a place that did a similar cleanup. After a lot of "we can't throw that away" someone had the bright idea that if you really wanted a thing kept, you should take it home. Amazingly nobody had room at home for those sentimentally invaluable things.
Thanks to the wonderful content you all have made over the years as made me want to further my skills when it comes to artwork in general. Its obvious that you have inspired many many people to continue their dreams and I look forward to watching your content.
I legit used to fantasise about having an airsoft gun wall just like you guys a decade ago, and honestly... even though I never achieved that level of cool, I still want one for myself!
This is the first normal video I have watched of y'alls in a while, as it truly felt like a classic "Sam and Niko" video. Would love to see these styles of videos return!
I can get and understand your feeling, cuz I'm too a nostalgic-guy type. Its so hard to throw away things that have so many memories with us, specially when the item is so hard to get or buy it. That's why I never buy so much things, unless I really want to have it. It's important to keep your storage organizer and clean, so seeing you guys must throw some of the properties (with many memories attached) is also hurt my heart, but as always a guy (probably from so many movies/animes references) said "the true memory lies in your heart" Keep up the good work Corridor guys 💪👊👍😉
Oh my god. Nick just came up with the best idea ever. Sell the props that you won't use but were part of huge videos to fans of the channel willing to pay or bid for them!! Sign them and make some cash for future productions!!!! I'd buy that cardboard pickaxe or one of the huge cardboard swords!!
It's hard to let go of precious stuff, and I'm definitely the guy who decides to use everything I'm going to throw away just _one more time_. I gotta appreciate Jake looking on the "kids" jumping on the pogo stick with a frown, then immediately cutting to him on the stick having fun.
Happy that at least the gun wall is staying (for now) that's such an iconic place. It was fun seeing those old props, hard to believe some of them are from videos already 10 years old, feel like it was just a couple of years
@4:36 Nick looked like he was close to tears, and I can feel his pain lol. A lot of that stuff is what they started out with, so getting rid of it is like getting rid of the memory.
3:40 Favorite part Jake working - alright were gonna open this door up. ( hears loud bouncing noise ) Jake turns and gives serious stare. Everyone Pogo bouncing ...........and now Jake is Pogo bouncing.
Hearing you guys say “that was like 9 years ago” really blows my mind. I can’t believe it’s been that long, you guys were and are still a core part of my childhood and my love for filmmaking thank you for everything
I had work done to my home and I know EXACTLY how everything covered in dust feels like. I took great care to not have my PC running while the dusty work was going on but it came out of sleep on its own and sucked in a bunch of dust (noctua fans). Has to pull it apart fully and clean all components.
As someone who has made robot costumes and cosplay armor and props out of foam assisted rubber, this video hit a little close to home. There were several times that I found out that no matter how careful you are in packing them away they still degraded over time, they get bent out of shape, gathered mold and smells, and eventually had to throw them out.
