Khamzat is a purple belt in jiujitsu, however his coach says he is a higher in "MMA" terms. His jiujitsu coach is Alan Finfou who is like an underground legend in Brazil, and he grew up in the culture that a belt you work for. He worked his whole life to get his. But he said in 1 interview that many fighters get upgraded by their coaches in MMA so it looks better on their record, and he hates how coaches destroy the beauty in jiujitsu. So he said one time in a interview that Khamzat would beat "most" black belters in jiujitsu in the UFC. He respect people like Burns and Maia and them, actually he won against Burns like 3 times and they used to train and live together in Brazil. But he don't respect many other fighters black belts in MMA. He think many just been given them so it looks good for their fighter. He will not give Khamzat that VIP treatment.
I agree with him. Many MMA fighters don't keep up with their grappling as they should. Some skip the wrestling or even gi days, as some argue it doesn't help but clearly, these type of training sessions are very beneficial to the fighters. So then you see high level MMA fighter lose to easy positions and submissions. His coach is spot on about all of this. I wish they incorporated more jiu jitsu and wrestling, not just in practice but even by infusing the culture, you would actually have more exposure to the sport. If the UFC united the International wrestling scene with the judo and BJJ associations, the MMA sport would be bigger than it is right now. Judo is the 2nd most popular sport for a reason. Now Imagine if you expose each fan base to the other: immense growth in all arts and sports. I am going to make a video on my thoughts on this.
I have to say the fight was so fast I had to go back and watch it a few times. But this right here was a great video I like the breakdown and I like the explanations. Keep up the great work have a good one I’ll definitely be catching the next one.
I appreciate it. It was a fast set-up and just showed everyone that there are levels to this game. Hope Holland learns from this and starts grappling more.
@@TonyCasarez also, I don’t know if you guys watch one championship, but they also put on some great fights over there as well and I wouldn’t mind seeing some breakdowns for those fights just a recommendation either way have a good one someone that’s disabled, but also has a love for fighting whether it be grappling boxing Muaythai I enjoy watching videos like this that really break it down.
