In this video we take you through a week of us over the road. We had some challenges we encountered but we handled them. Got a chance to meet some of our viewers as well.
Awesome video. Good advised Brotha , a person is dead without dreams. Be careful out on the travel world brotha , retired patrol cop of 32 years I know how it is. God Bless.
Just thought of something... Hauling that long container, I wonder if a wireless set of taillights like the heavy tow trucks use would help during the day since it may be hard for the driver behind you may not see your taillight on the trailer...
Yea we thought about that.. but truth be told the only way you cant see them is if you are following too close which automatically means they’re at fault in the event of an accident lol and i mean crazy close because you can see them fine otherwise
You doing good work bro truck know how and maintenance and passion sometimes sacrifice for a much love peace out Like tie down because chains and tires loosen up some times
It actually wasnt as bad as you would think. Didn’t film because we drove through the night and it wouldnt capture as nice as a day time shot. But it kinda just happened that way due to the timing of our day that day.
Hi whatcha up to hope all is well prayers 4 healing and unspoken also prayers 4 everyone and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy hauling in the name of the Creator God and Jesus and the Holy Ghost Amen much honor and respect keep walking tall and u should buy some of them extended ramps with support stands like the have 4 step decks it makes the ramps longer a total of 4 ramps and 2 stands so the incline won't be as steep many blessings keep on keeping on also cool lights u added to truck and trlr cool videos 🚌🌅🌌⛺🌄🏞🏖 👍👍💪🙂👍👍
Its a Texas Pride trailer and its rated at 30k which would put our capacity at 21,500. I think the mega ramps does take a little out of capacity because you are putting more weight into trailer which means you are putting less weight onto trailer.
Appreciate the feedback, dont watch it if it's not for you. No hard feelings. Spoiler though the music isnt going anywhere so yea... it may not be for you. and thats ok everything isn't for everybody. have a blessed evening/night
Ever since I came across your videos I watch them all now!! The experience and knowledge you have has really helped me with my business as a non CDL out of Oregon. If I could ever link up with you folks I’d love to, I’m thinking of grabbing my CDL and upgrading my equipment and could use some guidance. Of course I’ve got a really good idea of what I want to do, but a guy like you always has those bits of knowledge that are critical in business decisions. Thanx for the videos guys!!
Glad you found our channel! Happy to be able to show people what its like out here! Im sure we will cross paths one day.. we have come across quite a few subscribers over the road.
Yea i am honestly not sure how popular hotshot is outside of the states. But trucking around the world does interest me. Seems to be a bit more lax in some parts of the world generally speaking
Adventures In Trucking ive ran hotshot for years with smaller setups what you think about hotshot with a Class C Rv and Enclosed trailer or flatbed want something the wife and son can be comfortable traveling in ive Ran Hotshot with 2500 conversion van and 22 ft flatbed and a 2500 pickup truck with a 20ft flatbed also ran with a GMC Yukon xl sleeper setup in the back 20ft flatbed looking into a class c rv or a Box truck with a sleeper
Awesome video. Love the freightliner. It's good to see some of the challenges of heavy hotshot hauling and the essential tools. I'm a CDL company driver right now, but if I ever became an independent operator I'd seriously consider flatbed or carhauling with a larger truck than what see mostly (Dodge/Ford)
bruthatrucker make sure u get new dot trailer compliant stickers on ur trailer keeps dot off u ..plus if u get an inspection .. dot can check that off their list..lol gr8 vids..
Appreciate it brother! and as for the jack we got it from harbor freight i think it was on sale for like 108 after tax its their 20T air over hydraulic jack
Hint............IF you want your air jack to work , better , squirt some 20w oil INTO the INput air connector ! This Will lubricate both the air valve AND the air raising mechanism on the jack body !
Love that setup you got. I got a 53’ step deck and I’ve been trying to find ideas on how to support the back overhang when loading. Might try your make shift wood stands.
I was concerned about this as well. I have max ramps with airide. I flip the ramps down and dump the bags. The trailer pins the ramps so they can't flip up, and the trailer can't go down anymore. Drive on and off 28K manlifts weekly. DC 48' SDX216 with a Ram 5500.
This is a 2008 Freightliner Sportchassis. There are many conversion companies out but sportchassis is the only brand that is supported bu freightliner as they do the conversion in house. Definitely a great truck and would recommend to anyone who is able to
Yea thats about all we did was think about them… not paying 62k for a trailer lmao thats not the move… brand new aluminum fontaine or great dane dont even cost that
YESSSSS.... YOU JUST MADE MY DAY....!!!! I'm a little late but I just finished working on my truck for today...!!!! Good to see you back on RU-vid...!!!! How's BIG SHOT ( a.k.a. Hot shot shorty ) doing..???
@@adventuresintrucking1995 I installed a toolbox behind the cab and it's temporary until I find a sleeper for the truck.. I'm also measuring and cutting the fifth wheel portion of the bed I bought to make it fit my chassis... I got lucky, I bought the bed from a f350 used for $600 It's heavy duty and has a fith wheel and a gooseneck trailer ball in front of it...!!! I'm so excited and can't wait... I stopped working on the tile I was installing in the front porch to work on the truck...!!!
@@novavroomvroom3435 thats freaking awesome! Definitely would recommend going to fifth wheel over ball.. safer more reliable and best of all way easier to hook up if youre solo 🤣
My air pressure only pumped up my Jack one time what am I doing wrong ? I bought a VEVO 20 ton and it done great the first time but I let it down to film it and it didn’t have enough air to pump back up.
@@adventuresintrucking1995 yes and yes. I don’t understand because I had just as much air showing on the gauges but yet it would only run it up one time. I could disconnect and reconnect and it would move a little and stop again. There is a black handle below my air connection in my truck does that do something to the air ?
Yea we’ve seen those.. not really needed for us since the truck is more often than not taller than the freight we haul . We do have a deployable wing on top of the neck. Its 8 feet wide so it kicks up a lot more wind and is closer to the freight too
I've commented before, but I still can't find exact towing numbers anywhere. What is the max fifth wheel capacity on one of these trucks? I plan on getting a Diamond C step deck with the 40k package, and I know that trailer itself will weigh around 10,500-11,000k.. Just trying to find out how much I'd be able to put on the deck with the right fifth wheel hitch, or do I just need to invest in a 112 over the 106. Appreciate the videos btw! I respect your work ethic 💪🫡
If you go the 112 route you definitely will be fine i think you would be ok with the 106 8.9L as well… saw a Sportchassis towing a 6 car hauler with 6 on em and he looked like he was handling it fine
@Adventures in Trucking I really appreciate the feedback man! With a 21,000lb load and full tanks, about how much are you weighing in? What is the GCWR for that beautiful pre-def you have?
