One-year-old Shamel cannot sit, crawl, stand, or eat without his parents’ help due to a rare condition called Type 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy,
Without medication, his motor neurons will continue to deteriorate and eventually lead to total immobility. But this medication costs 3 million dollars, and Shamel has to receive it before he turns two.
