@@tekeraq Yeah but I've bought a similar type of camera (I'm waiting for it to get delivered) and it has a community made pc program that gives you back the functionality that's on the Android app. So it purely depends on the chipset and available documentation.
The problem with this kind of tool is that in a few months or a year the software is not working anymore on the newer smartphones and the vendor is not updating it because they want you to buy the newer models. I have been in that street... I never by anymore a tool to put on a smartphone, they change far to quickly. Thats why I have a handheld model with screen, processor and battery so it can work for years to come. I have also a macro lens to go close to the device which makes it very usefull. But nevertheless its a nice tool and I hope you can enjoy it for a long time.
I had the same concern with a Topdon, luckily I've found a couple of guys here on youtube who managed to get access to the video stream on linux without drivers. One even made a python tool to replace the propietary software, it doesn't have all the features, but it does work with relatively little effort.
If you are looking for a camera on a stand, you can look at TB-03 Infrared Imaging. I'm thinking my self about this, but it's always this price barrier.
I did get a camera to put on the phone too, to most people it's the logical choice! An articulated arm (I repurposed a spring arm loupe) and a phone holder goes a long way with that (;
was search for a good thermal camera and found this model on ebay and when i searched for a review in google it got me to my favorite electronics channel so am really happy
I have it and have used it for more than 2 years. Some good things and some bad. The tolerances on the threads for the front lens are sloppy. I had to wrap the threads with 3.5 mil. Teflon tape to take up the slack. Now when I focus the lens it stays in place. I did a side-by-side comparison with the FLIR, and the HTI-301 was able to see more (i.e. under paint to identify a cavity in wood siding). I do have to reset the camera from time to time, so that's not great. I also picked up a 2' long USB-C female to male cord so I could fit the camera into small spaces that I didn't want to send my phone into.
Sorin, to put the phone screen on PC screen in real-time to stream/record with OBS, if you'd like, try out TeamViewer or Vysor. TeamViewer needs wifi, Vysor needs wifi or cable. And Vysor is better - it's faster (at least if you use cable. never tried wifi). Thank you for the video!
i'm happy for you Sorin, look like a good one for you to make life easier rather than petrol and burnt finger which btw i am quite impressed when i saw this on your videos but yes thermal camera is cool too..is there a way for us to see what you see instead of looking out camera into smartphone then image. eg direct image from the HT-301 into a PIP mini screen? some kind of dongel usb-c. i dunno if possible but would be cool to see more directly into your work area with you..
@@zaprodk As you saw there is smartphone which is needed to utilize camera. So, you are dependable on it's battery. You should have either samsung or apple phone or it won't work well with some other brands. I happen to have previous model of that camera and it is quite a pain when you have to work with it. I found that bulky big camera with battery, screen and hdmi out is better than this simply because it is built for the purpose and there is no matter on resolution. You just need to pinpoint up where is hot and you can do it with any tool you have (screwdriver or needle - no matter). And you just need one hand to hold bulky one. With this you need 2 hands. So, you must to solder wires to get power to board.
@@ДимитърАндонов-ъ7е I gave you all my reasons. Resolution is not mandatory for repairs. Speed and ease of use of tools are what is important. To put it simply this camera has nice picture but you need 2 hands to handle it. So it is not productive.
@@milsiart4976 it's pretty easy to handle it and use it for repairs and you can pin point the individual component that's heatimg so you don't need to point your tweezer to the area that's hot. And that's the most important of all of it's features. Like I told it's perfect camera but the price is insane ✌️
I don't trust mobile OS hardware or software. A little into the future and products are likely to become completely useless and unsupported without warning. If you're lucky, a community may build an open source software around it. I'd much rather buy a camera with a screen and everything already built into it. External monitor, etc.
600+ thermal camera with 100 pounds of dust on it... i spent 249 euros on a flir one 5 years ago.. and this is enough to track shorts without issues ... Sorin I can't understand you... sometimes you need that customers sent you wires... you burned your fingers for years and now you are buying a thermal camera at a price similar to the same of an used car...
The sensor isn't nearly sensitive enough to pick up thermal IR, only IR from remote controls etc. Anyway, what are you going to use to block the visible spectrum?!
Thermal camera and infrared is not the same. The thermal camera uses a thermopile sensor, it doesn't reacy to light. Also the lens is not made from glass, but selenium which is opaque to light.
I bough very cheap on the release sale a uni-t uti120 90x120 last year. It´s just ok for electronics, although being also 25Hz helps to see pulsing. They have now a newer model with the same resolution as yours (probably same board) but cheaper, but it has fixed focus. For electronics yours looks fantastic. Having the microscope arm, if it was mine, I would try to design a 3Dprinted adapter to clip the phone with the camera there.
I knew you would buy one even though you asked us if you should, lol, saves burning the back of your fingers or petrol splashed everywhere, a step up I’d say, congrats
Hot damn I want one!.. don't really have a use for one but it sure looks fun.. even better than the old night scopes we used to use.. Well done.. I guess you have gotten your last scar on your fingers eh? Carry on son!
Good afternoon, congratulations for the good content you generate. Please help choosing which thermal camera to buy, I am looking at the HTI HT-H8, also the HTI HT-301 and the Qianli Super Cam 3D Your opinion would be very helpful, thank you very much for your time.
congrats on the new camera but I would love to see it working on a laptop mother board that you haven't done the short yourself :) maybe on another laptop repair video :)
Please, sir, i need advice between UNI-T Ut260b handheld and infiray p2 pro detachable. Which should i go for Please sir just for repairs and also consider outdoor and indoor use battery life and the rest... thank for the answer sir 🙏
Whats the matter, dont you like to burn your fingers anymore ? would this be the same as a "night vision" camera? These techy things puts you in another league for pople that need this kind of thing. Do you have to download a speacial app for your new camera? Anyone that produces these high tech devices would do themself a favor to send you their devices for review and would find they sell more of their products. Thank yuu
Hi, does bad electric voltage and current damage to laptop's bios and charging condition, my laptop's bios was break down and I had a charging problem and service center solved the problem taking off and replace the bios battery, does electricity have an effect on bios, thanks
well the fact that these guys make their customers pay for an app subscription fee just to be able to work with it is kinda of scummy and horrible. even though they made another free up, this is client segregation pay to win pay to access discriminatory act ... not in a million years would I consider buying from these greedy shit heads ..
So does this camera have a live and thermal picture? As most thermal cameras like this don't work well, as the live camera is the phone camera and the thermal camera is plugged in at the other end of the phone, leaving a big gap between each picture. But this looks good.
I think the resolution on this camera is so good, that it means that it's not necessary to use a visual camera overlay, so this point is moot. The thermal camera is far too good for board repair work though, which is reflected in its price.
On the desk I like using usb-c extension cables. Like having the camera amounted to the arm of the microscope and then plugging an extension cord into the phone when needed.
@@ducktechvca Just find a time. It is not hard to learn just an hour a day. I suggest you take some book like "Sherlock Holmes" and you can also have some dictionary of English and your main language and try read it. When you come to last page you will know much, much more than now.
@@ducktechvca Just to add: If your problem is bad understanding of hearing English, I'd suggest you find some movies like Indiana Jones, Star wars for start. No tittles and no voice over on your native language. After you went through that I suggest Godfather - all movies. After that you will understand all what Sorin is talking about :)
I recently bought a thermal camera with a decent quality and I actually do search and finds my cats at night when they are missing for too long and its actually very useful XD 1:15
