I love learning about Bison. My introduction to American Bison was at Medicine Park Wildlife Refuge. As an Army wife I would drive out there and watch herds grazing. Congratulations and continued success. 🌹👵🌹

Wanted to see if you do anything different in your raising of these magnificent animals. You call them Buffalo and Dusty calls them Bison. What is the difference?

Here's a few Sioux Lakota Names you might want to consider for your heifers: Wachiwi, Dancing Girl; Shappa, Red Thunder; Wasula, Hair Storm; Wichapi, Star. For your first offspring: Mina, eldest daughter, and Tatanka, Big Beast, used as a generic term for bison by the native Americans. You might have heard of Tatanka-Iyotanka, aka Sitting Bull.

Hi! I watched you on Dusty's channel and thought I'd come over to watch your new start! Maybe naming them after the four elements would be a great start.... Hakan - Native American word for fire, Terra for Earth, Breeze for wind, Misty for Rain...or something along that line...Your first bull could be named Rampage because he's going to be on one to get all your girls ready to grow your herd. Your videos are helpful. I've wanting to move to a ranch for years and I didn't want normal animals. Cows are boring and more work than I think should be necessary. Lots of work, not much payoff. Went to high school in altus OK. Came face to face with my first bison at a wild animal park in Lawton. Didn't even hear her. Turned around and there she was with her red calf running around. Now I'm in VA and I'm working on getting land to make my own ranch.

This was in my YT feed. I'll check you out - I'm a fan of Cross Timbers Bison, so... You have 4 calves, but I will have to check back to see if you mentioned heifers or bulls. Guessing you have at least one bull... from different bloodline, I would hope. OK, I just heard you say you're bringing a bull in later. I know they aren't pets, but since you'll have to handle them some just to be able to manage them - maybe as you work with them, a particular name will come to you. I like names that reflect either personality or to honor the heritage of your location.
