Tbh my husband likes to play with our kid on his lap (as long as kid is calm) so i mostly don't have to take him but it is his time to rest so if i can and he wants to i take kid from him too and keep it at bay
If you're reading a book about a story then reading and gaming is basically the same thing. Gaming is most often just a visual storytelling with some sort of puzzles or problem solving that keeps your brain active.
