Do yourself a favor- follow these whales to their winter home- off the coast of Maui. I think they know how to live- summers in Alaska & winters in Maui. They're magnificent. Thanks for sharing
Check out this live cam in Maui for watching whales, it's unbelievable. We came across it and spent most of last winter watching it. Totally glued to the tv Maui, Hawaii 4K Live Cam at Maui Sands
Hi Tony and Don - Thank you so much for taking us with you on your Whale Watching Tour. It was fabulous, well filmed and great commentary. I really enjoyed it and felt like I was right there with you. Thanks for sharing and continued success and fun. Love PegEgg
I've cruised to Alaska a lot (former crew member and I spent a lot of summers there) and I never saw orca's this close. What an incredible experience! Thank you for capturing it for us all to enjoy!
Is it true that crew members on the cruise ships work 12 hours a day 7 days a week ? I mean I have a strong work ethic but DANG ! That’s gotta just hurt that many hours !!! Do you just go numb to it ??? I bet there’s huge turn over since NO one ☝️ s willing to work now !!
We have always said Alaska will be our very last cruise. We live in Canada and our winter is basically 9 months of the year, last thing we think of is an Alaska cruise. Since watching your video's Tony we are now rethinking our plans and could be going to the Great white north sooner than later. Thank you for sharing your experience and your excitement. Well done Tony
No amount of videos or photos can prepare you for the amazing experience of seeing Orcas in the wild. We were there in 2013 (with HAL) and can never forget the excitement when Orcas surfed the wake of the boat. Amazing! Love from England.
As I think you know, I ran a whale watch company in Juneau for 6 years and I can tell you that seeing both Humpback whales and Orca's on the same day is incredibly rare! You were so lucky. I love this vlog! Thanks Tony!
I am sitting at my desk watching this while working and when the Orcas jumped up, I actually CLAPPED and squealed "WOW!!" Thank you Tony for blessing us with this video. You could easily keep these marvels to yourself but you share them with us and we are grateful!!! 🐳🐟🚢
That was breathtaking!!! Thank you Tony for this experience through your eyes! The whales were spectacular and gave me goosebumps. Hopefully one day Larry and I will be able to visit Alaska.
This has been fun watching you explore Alaska! I loved watching your expression of excitement when the first whale blew and listening to the excitement in your voice trying to describe them. I am so glad you changed your mind on Alaska. Thank you so much for letting me relive my Alaskan cruise from 2 years ago❤️
Brings it all back and reaffirms how and why I have fallen in love with Alaska. We saw so many whales, but your videos of the whales swimming in tandem are so much better than any pics or videos that we took.
@@leanneadams2549 😂 I was there in the first part of July. The weather was gorgeous. We didn’t even wear jackets, except in Denali, and even then we had to take them off when hiking.
We went on that excursion several years ago. Loved it so much! Got to see an Orca "family" with a small calf, then saw humpbacks "bubble-net" feeding! Hope to go back one day soon, and this video has really brought back the memories.
Well Tony your videos, and Don's too, inspired me to do something I said I wouldn't do this year, what with all the turmoil. I'm booked for an Alaskan cruise on the NCL Encore on 10/9. Can't wait. So if I don't like it, it's your fault. JUST KIDDING! Loved the video.
I’m from Hawaii and I think you filmed that beautifully. Looking for whales is a local pastime here. It is always strangely exhilarating and exciting. I am glad you enjoyed your excursion. I have never taken a cruise but I am subscribed to both you and Don’s channel. You both are so entertaining and enthusiastic 🤩. Keep up the good work. By the way, the Pacific Northwest is the best breathing area in the country due to to cool weather and tons of 🌲 trees. Enjoy!
What a fantastic whale watching experience for you.🐋🎉 You’ve set the bar high for my Juneau Whale Watching in May. To hear you say “come to Alaska”, was great as it was surprising you didn’t really have the desire to go. I can’t wait to go!
Absolutely loved this footage. You did a great job! And thank you for capturing all you did! I want to go again! Just cant beat the amazing beauty of Alaska!!!!
I appreciate the accompanying commentary as I'm trying to understand what we re viewing. Thanks for taking me along. Hey that's like the SanFrancisco ferry! Nice seats, and a snack bar! Up and down stairs!
Well, well, well...we can tell you're loving it. You've caught the Alaska bug that a lot of us already know and love. I'll never forget the first time I saw a whale from our balcony. It was like it was waving at our ship with it's fins. It brought tears to my eyes. Never been lucky enough to see Orca's though. Very special. So happy you got to see them, and that you and Don are having a fab time. The only thing that would make it better would be your beautiful wife by your side! 🚢😊
Holy moly! My cheeks hurt from smiling through the entire video!!! There is nothing like that experience ❤❤❤ So glad you went to share Alaska with everyone. One of my favs!
Did the naturalist tell you that "killer whales" are not whales but are actually the largest members of the dolphin family? Yes, and the nickname of "killer whale" is actually a turn-around of the nickname that sailors gave to this species because they are "killers of whales". Some orcas specifically choose to hunt and kill baby humpback whales - a delicacy in their diet. We learned all of this on our first Princess Alaskan cruise that provided a brilliant marine biologist who gave lectures during our cruise on the Dawn Princess. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories with your great video, Tony!
I was so overwhelmed by Alaska exactly 2 years ago today on our first (and planned to be our only) cruise to Alaska. We decided part way through that we will be going back. I WAS expecting to be amazed but did not know to what extent it was going to overload my senses, I was getting exhausted mentally. This was our last cruise before shut down and you and Don (and Jay and Dee to be fair as well) are bringing all the wonderful feels right back to me. Wondering if this will change your thoughts on possibly trying the Panama Canal now too. Who knows, it could UNLOCK some hidden awe too? 😆
Tony, this is so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us! Don must be the lucky charm. 🍀🍀( But I still wish Jenny had been there. Someday!! ❤️❤️)
so glad you are enjoying Alaska. I have been three times and have another booked in 2023. Two out of the three times we saw orcas. They are amazing to see in the wild.
Awesome! You got to see Humpbacks and Orcas! Love when the breach! So happy you are having a great time. Pouring in Seattle. Johnstone Straits off Vancouver Island is a fantastic place to see Orcas.
I knew you’d change your mind about Alaska after doing the whale watch. You were so fortunate to see the orcas. We weren’t as lucky, however we saw a group of whales breaching together which our guide said was rare to see. Alaska is so beautiful!
Tony, You have no idea how blessed you were on your Whale Watching Tour. It took us 5 trips to Alaska to just get a few glimpses of an Orca. We had taken a similar cruise and saw many Humpback Whales' bubble net feeding and it was spectacular but the orcas are very special. You provided some great video and know we know why no audio. Too bad about the jerk who kept asking stupid questions. There's one in every Pod!
Tony, you got several great shot's of the back of my head Ha! Ha! What a Vantastic day we had! I think it was your luck though to see those Orca's. Don's been so many time and I've been 4 times and this is the first Orca pod I've seen up there. Lot's of humpbacks on my previous trips! Spectacular day all around. A real highlight for me too Tony!
Sooooo cool! You guys had a great Orca encounter. I gotta admit, I teared up a bit just watching that. An Alaskan cruise is on my list - I’m hoping for 2023! Thank you!!
What a wonderful experience for you to have your first time in Alaska, whale watching!!!! My husband have been fortunate to whale watch on the same tour and did see Orcas but l think your sightings were more lively. Our tour, the pod was happy floating just below the water line. We're traveling to New England from Southern Ontario tomorrow and hopefully to see Humpbacks on a tour. If you are ever thinking of going to Maui, go between December and April. From our vacation condo sundeck we can see Humpbacks, the mother Humpbacks give birth and their calf's grow in the relatively shallow warm waters surrounding Maui until they start heading up the coast to BC and beyond in May!! Enjoying your channel!!!😊
We were there in 2011 & 2013 on the Princess Grand and Princess Star, truly my favorite trip I’ve ever experienced. We are booked sailing next summer out of San Francisco but not sure it will happen. Yours is the very best filming I’ve seen. Thank you
You lucky Butt! We went in 2016 and got to see several Humpbacks perform their bubble net maneuver. Orcas would top that, for sure! I understand your speechlessness. Alaska stole my heart and I can't wait to go back in May 2022 if all goes well Covid-wise. Thanks for sharing those beauties. You did a great job filming and you and Don are so funny together!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. Natures beautiful creations are amazing. I miss cruising but feel apart of it with your videos. God bless you for sharing "That Cruise Life"
OMG❣️That was an amazing video. THANK YOU so much❣️ My husband was so excited to see your whale watching experience, we didn’t get to see much of a whale on our Alaska cruise. We have something to look forward to for our next Alaska cruise.
If you ever cruise to Cabo San Lucas, take the Zodiak rafts for whale watching (humpback). You get super close (within a 100 feet), breaching, swimming under your rafts. Coolest experience ever! Super video and pics. Also, take the first available excursion…they are super active in the morning. Best between January and March. We even saw them from the beach.
We did see the orcas when we were in Alaska, yes Alaska is expensive but well worth it in my book. We loved our float plane excursion too. I am with you Tony when I see the vast nature and the sea life and animals I feel blessed. We did the land tour through Princess and we seen several moose(s?) Grizzly bears, porcupines and Mt. McKinley was showing, we were with our dear friends and lost one of them since then so the memories of Alaska are precious to us.
I've been on this excursion and it was great. Even better - charter a smaller, 4-6 person boat. The experience is phenomenal and even better than the larger boat.
