They do rely on reputation... I mean you'd be a lot less scared of Gol-goroth if you knew about their carefully curated collection of Fortnite rule-34 plushies...
I like they are pushing Parlay, and the Seeker enemy-management-without-killing thing. The transmogrify / scene of the crime combo is just neat, flavor-wise. I also just like 1 wild + a situation bonus skills, especially Practiced. Trait based deck building seems good for the game going forward, for variety. However, I find it a bit off-putting because of how it requires you to use a database, you can't grab your 0-2 level cards in a color. It also can be very specific to having the particular sets required, since it's often relatively few cards it gives access to but the right ones can be very strong. In short, it feels like a better fit for more advanced players. Which I guess make sense given how deep we are into the game at this point.
Transmogrify should have had the ‘transmogrifier’ cardboard box from Calvin&Hobbes, depicting investigator Calvin with a cherished keepsake painted in tiger stripes.
The real spoiler is Russ, the Cat Field Marshall. Neutral, Ally, Creature, Fortune. As an action he can "Parley test 0: If he succeeds, he gets pets." Sorry Rex, no Russ for you!
Remember Massive enemies don't have an engage moment (per the ruling that Zoey doesn't get money from them), so Transmogrify does shut the abilities off of those pesky fish
There was an important Mystic Insight you left off! QUANTUM FLUX Does Kate particularly want to play that card? I don't know, but it feels like a theme win for her.
I feel like full seekers who can play "Fortuitous Discovery" are honestly the best place for it. "Blood Rite" "Forced Learning" and "Occult Invocation" are all far better discard outlets than what level 0 Survivor typically has, unless you are Yorick or Wendy.
Oh, I hadn't considered that. I don't know if you have enough discard pile interaction to make Forced Learning feel great, but I can definitely see just slotting in the Occult Lexicon to churn through my deck and put Fortuitous Discovery in the bin.
Will the reaction effect on Transmogrify trigger on the turn you play it? Is this one of those timing things where "After..." triggers occur before "If..." triggers?
According to the rules experts in our Discord (because lord knows I'm not one), it will allow you to get the clue when you attach Transmogrify to an enemy.
@@PlayingBoardGames I can see that it could work that way, it attaches when the test is successful but before you actually evade, man some italic text would be a help here.
@@deadlyreg I think the order of operations is as follow: You succeed on the evade skill test, then go into Step 7. During Step 7 you can order the results of the successful test in any order, which would be "Attach Transmogrify" and "Evade the enemy". If you attach transmogrify first, then evade the enemy, then you can apply the reaction ability from transmogrify. This has to do with the nonsense that is "Evade" being a word that is both an action and the result of the action.
I hope they (FFG/Asmodee) are sending you free copies of the expansions given the amount of content you produce for the game. Oh and feed Russ poor cat is wasting away!
