Exciting news.. we got the keys!! Today, we ventured to Lecco and finally received the keys to our new Italian Villa. We venture inside and take a look around and celebrate even though we have no electric, water and gas. Our eagerness got the best of us, and we forgot to capture the moment we started our renovations on film. Stay tuned as we document every step of our transformation journey, sharing the highs, lows, and everything in between as we turn our dream of restoring this Italian villa into a reality. Let the adventure commence... #Villa #Mandarosa #LakeComo #Italy #Renovation #DIY #Italian #Restoration

Suggestion: Move your camera slowly as it makes one dizzy trying to watch. Good luck on remodeling this beautiful villa.

It's a lovely villa. I like all those amazing 1950's built storage - absolutely lovely. You're going to need to sort out the insulation though. Those villas were built when fuel was cheap. My partner's family owned a similar house on Lake Maggiore. We stayed there one winter while work was being done on your own home nearby, and the heating bills just keep barely warm were over €800 a month! And that was 9 years ago, I hate to think how much it would cost nowadays.My own house has thick walls, (it used to be 2 old stables), insulated roof, all new windows and doors and we are nice and cosy. Wishing you all the very best, and I'm sure you'll be very happy in your new home.

Absolutely spot on, the insulation and costs are a high priority, we have had several companies looking at replacing most of the windows and ive already been looking at the roof insulation plus possibly having a small water heater rather than running the large gas boiler al the time, plus I think we will only heat the spaces we will live in. Thank you .

Even the entrance to the property is impressive. Inside, I like the large windows, especially the ones with the round arches. Now I'm excited to see what you two plan to do with all these rooms. Greetings from a German from Thailand

Updated and cleaned and your Villa should look amazing. Not sure how daring you are on the renovation, but that 'master' bath could be enlarged into the attic with the right plan.

We were looking at enlarging the bathroom into the attic as love the idea but its a lot of work I think as it's a solid brick wall, the alternative was to make a laundry room next to it.

Goood luck to you both. Perhaps you can redo a tour of the villa with slow pans around the room so viewers can appreciate the wonderful details in each one.

First time viewing. Love your beautiful new home. Attic area with carpet. Is that a cedar lined walls. If not. Could be. Love it

Why do the previous owners take the kitchen out.
@VillaMandarosa

In some mainland European countries its normal that they take the kitchen with them but it does seem strange!

@carolynthompson6518 19 дней назад
That is normal in Italy - also if you rent you often need your own kitchen appliances
