I live alone on 0.2 acres and I grow 70% of what I eat. Veggies (10 raised beds and a 100 square foot greenhouse), 25 meat chickens, 3 egg layers, 3 to 10 Muscovy ducks (they don't make noise and they don't require a pond, I get away with a kids pool during summer). I still buy from the farmer's market some things that are not worth growing because they require too much space or a too long season (carrots, potatoes, cabbages and cauliflower). I also work full time from home so whatever I grow needs to fit my schedule. Overall, I am really really happy with my productivity. P.S. I live in Europe in the equivalent of zone 7.
@@tmoddison this is the fourth year I've been here. Before, I had a bigger property where I tried raising also a pig and rabbits, but it was far too much work.
@@davidkendall589 Absolutely! And we have lots of room to continue growing the family! Heck, we could even start our own football team! (Not really, the 3 boys now eat enough!)
