USA got its independence in 1776, India just about 75 years ago. 75 years into independence USA had so much slavery going on, India is certainly in a better shape. About corruption, india me b maine passport, aadhar, pan or baaki bhot saare govt office me kam karwaya. Kabhi corruption face nhi kiya. I was once presented an opportunity to offer a bribe and get my clean medical certificate without any tests, but i opted for not giving the bribe and rather go for tests. Most of my friends decided to bribe the agent. So the point is, for general public, it's not like you can't get anything done without bribing. It's just when you don't bribe, you have to follow the proper procedure. It's the public who chooses to go for the bribe route. Hope we could change that in coming years.

Your first point is proportional to third point everywhere. As third point is solid there and not in India, so first point to respecting goes down due to low wages. So respect power is directly proportional to the persons ability to resist exploitation. If one cant stop your exploitation then how can you get the respect so Indian working in tea stall is not respected as such due to low wages. But wages there is much higher comparative to other job that fetch their respect. Few things that are most contrasting which I like to highlight like car horns almost never heard, when I visited first time I though vehicles don;t have horn there, later come to know that almost no one uses it even in high traffic. Queue in almost everywhere without overtake or jumping whether in grocery, road or anywhere.
