I can say that Miles Fisher might be the most engaging person you have ever had on the show, I could honestly listen to another 3 hours of this. Would love to see another episode with him
Fantastic episode! Was just going to watch a few mins during breakfast, but became captivated for the entire episode. Hat's off to you all! Keep 'em coming, Colin & Samir! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
The way to solve the problem is with digital signature integration inside cameras. You won't be able to edit pictures after taking them, but you'll be able to trust that it was coming out of a camera.... I mean this would be required for pictures/videos for news.
this guy is literally Tom's twin flame. There is just so much overlap, even personality wise. It's wild. LOVELY and amazing person and conversation! Thanks guys.
It feels so long ago and it was but it wasn't. Maybe 10-15 years ago and it's gone so differently. If you told someone about AI music back then they might have short circuited
I thought I'd dive into this for ten minutes whilst eating my dinner. Ended up being fascinated for the entire hour. Miles seems like a humble and genuinely nice dude. Incredible interview and I look forward to what's next from him.
I can confirm that miles fisher is a fantastic guy, many years ago before a lot of this modern tech I sent him an email when I first watched his video for this must be a place just letting him know that I saw it and it was great and also how I loved his EP and his summer mix tape and if he was bringing out more music, now I was expecting nothing back but what I did get was a very nice, personal email back that felt like I was conversing with a friend. He didn’t have to do this but he took the time to and I will always be waiting for what he does next because of this.
Tom Cruise is on his own level. We’ll never have anyone like him again. Listening to this conversation proves we may never be without him on screen or other people in general. Great video.
"Luck is when preparation meets oppourtunity". That is the best line I have heard in a long time. So true. All the success I have ever attained in my life only came because I prepared myself first and when I found an opportunity, I took action. Great Interview guys!
The quote is attributed to the stoic philosopher, Seneca. I have one of his quotes hanging on my wall, it says "we suffer more often in imagination than in reality" - it acts as a great reminder to get out of my own way. Another Stoic you might like is Marcus Aurelius (a roman emperor and fellow stoic, who was heavily influenced by Seneca), he wrote Meditations which is also a great read. One of my favourite quotes by Aurelius is "the impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way, becomes the way".
I think it is amazing that Miles took the feedback of being a "discount Tom Cruise" and created a huge conversation about AI and what this means for creators. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and definitely can glean a lot from it. Also, it's amazing to get a look into what this man has accomplished and his mindset behind all of it. Kudos to Colin and Samir for creating a platform where he could be viewed in a different light and people could gain insight into who he really is.
It sounds horrible to be called discount tom cruise. I'm so glad he's gotten over that mentally and uses it to bring joy to the world. Amazing interview, rarely do I watch a full hour-long interview. Miles you are a gem that I didn't know existed till now, keep up the hussle
Miles goes so much farther than a lot of deep fakes, not just because of his similarity, but also his incredible facial acting. I'm sure deep fake technology will get better at replicating that, but for now it really shines in his videos!
He's been doing Tom Cruise impressions for so long his natural mannerisms, intonation, facial expression, align with how Tom Cruise really interviews. You guys should deep fake Miles into Tom Cruise in this very interview and post clips of it and you'll see how well it works when he's not even trying to do the impression.
Wow the last 3 minutes are GOLD Thank you for this interview. Such a gem and soooo different from all of the other creators on the show. Miles’ path is crazy unique and cannot be recreated
I enjoy how engrossed Colin and Samir are in listening to Miles, and how honestly he responds back. It naturally takes me away from the Tom Cruise association & shows us who's beyond that. They're genuinely leaned in and enjoying engaging conversation with each other. It's great.
It is so refreshing to see content like this demonstrating the exciting aspect of the growing AI time we are all witnessing. I especially enjoyed the positive nature of the hosts and guest. Great work. 😊
Who would have known that Deep Fake Tom Cruise was such a brilliant and successful guy way before his alter ego exploded on tiktok. Very insightful conversation. Thank you for sharing this!
Damn, loving the deep end here. I scrolled past originally because I was like who cares about this guy, never heard of him. So glad you guys dive deep into meaningful conversations that extend beyond the realm of creators. Always feeling inspired after these interviews.
Well it was good you stopped to watch. That's probably why they don't really want to do "unknown" or "small creators". Even though people say they want to see it. If we don't recognize someone we just scroll past. You never know who you can learn from.
Absolutely fascinating! Always incredible to hear about the completely unique, deep and varied life of a creator behind the surface skim we see on social media
fantastic conversation. I found the whole thing so engaging and Miles really has some sort of intangible drawcard. I'm excited to see what he does next, but I also feel equally inspired
i have such a high respect for this guy, finally clearly defining and bringing to the forefront how being a creator, reflects being an artist. There is so much creators can and should learn from artists, and this video and many of these more recent interviews reeeally portray that.
I was absolutely glued to my seat. Miles Fisher your story is amazing, and I only wished I subbed to your channel sooner. Thank you for sharing all that wisdom, and I can't wait to see what's next for you. BTW I think you could play Superman too!
I had seen clips of 'Deep Tom' and thought to myself 'That's really impressive, and what a great impression', and then moved on. Holy shit cakes, what an intelligent, thoughtful, and articulate person with a background I had no idea of before this video. Great job guys! This has gotten me thinking of aspects of AI that I had never considered before and more importantly, that I intend to look into even further.
I really appreciate Miles' intelligence and integrity. He can shift perspectives to make the best of new situations while also having the fortitude to not seize influencer deals as a deep-faked Tom Cruise 👏
This is by far the best video on deep fakes. Really good choice for a guest to talk about it. I think pretty much everything was covered and it was interesting.
A refreshingly authentic interview with Miles! 😉 For me, it's all about opportunity, innovation and resilience. Great to see that Miles is hyper-aware of ethics. 👍
I’m so proud of you guys. I remember when I first picked up a lacrosse stick my freshman year of high school I spent a lot of time watching TLN. Now you guys are making some of the most impressive and interesting content on RU-vid. What a journey.
This was an awesome interview with Miles. It connected so many dots. He’s a very interesting person to listen to. Reminds me a little bit of Elon Musk but more relatable. The technology company that he’s working with and it’s promise is fascinating. Thank you for posting this. 🤘
🔴 Holy shit that was a good one. I love these pieces that dive deep into these seemingly one-dimensionsal personalities and show us how insanely well versed, insightful and thoughtful they are with their measured process for life. Loving this Miles Fisher conversation and his perspective on artistry. The newspaper a day part got me because it's so easy to stay in your bubble and not be aware of all the other ideas you could catch in the vast ocean of this world. Great job as always Colin, Samir, and team! ❤
How does this differ from Crispin Glover's multi-million dollar lawsuit against the studio and producers for using his likeness without permission in Back to the Future 2??? That lawsuit literally said that the actor owns their likeness. This is illegal.
These are the things that must be radically limited. . Induce the misunderstanding, with false identities and lies, it must be cut. . To begin with, if he were Tom Cruise, he would file a lawsuit for millions of dollars, WITH THE LAW IN HAND, so that he would learn.
This is the first time seeing the deep fake, holy smokes. I hope Miles gets more acting gigs!! He’s got so much talent! Also, to me he looks half like Christian Bale to me so he’s got some versatility haha. 🙌❤️
Completely agree with the Christian Bale resemblance. To me he doesn't look like Tom Cruise at all. I really don't see it.
Год назад
agree, some of his facial expressions are full on Christian Bale. but there are some Tom Cruise there as well. i hope he doesn't takes these comparisons in the wrong way. he seems like he's used to it. also calling him discount Tom Cruise was a very unpolite thing by that exec
Miles Fisher hits differently before this video I know him as "deep fake tom cruise" and now I know him as one the most creative Individuals and awesome entrepreneur, I am blown by chamberlain coffee story truly inspirational.
Excellent conversation chaps this guy really thinks outside of the box.. Whats going on with the audio floor noise though was this a known issue? The buzzing towards the end is really noticeably to me for some reason.
The tech is stunning, the story fascinating. But the real scare is talented Miles' carefully parsed languaging and extraordinary creative powers. His vision and capability to get into position large scale is scarier to me than the real Tom Cruise.
miles fisher : talks about how he had an existential crisis about people always associating him with top cruise colin and samir : WE INTERVIEWED DEEPFAKE TOP CRUISE
Also miles fisher: has a crust for always being associated with Tom cruise. Decides to use deepfake to pretend to be Tom cruise and become some what famous.
Very well done, Great questions, great setup and lots of respect for Miles. Can feel his struggles and his motivation to grab his own life. I love this. New sub!
This reminds me of the Star Trek next generation episode where Laforge creates a holodeck version of a real person to help him with an engineering problem and then eventually meets the real woman and she is very put off by his perceived invasion of her privacy.
As a sexagenarian It’s hard to be excited about this technology. Miles’ videos are very entertaining. The road to evil is paved with good intentions. Kind of scary!
his character in final destination 5 is the BEST part of that movie (an actual excellent final destination movie) he brought a lot of nuance to that character especially with the ending.
29:04 Is Colin really unaware that there was in fact an original Top Gun movie?!?! never cringed harder... you eat and breath pop culture, how are you not aware?
Why are people so shocked about the person behind this deepfake? Only someone this charismatic and intelligent could pull this off. This is exactly how I was expecting him to be.
Funny how he addresses the resentment he sometimes felt for being reduced to a Tom Cruise impersonator and the title of the video doesn't even mention his name, reducing him to a Tom Cruise deepfake. Ironic.
@@angelbedolla347 That's also true. But I find it always disrespectful when the interviewee isn't referred to by their name in the title. Here, it could've been "We interviewed Miles Fisher, the deepfake Tom Cruise". Even if the current title is considered the optimal version for the search engine, and it might, two more words wouldn't hurt that much.
This guy is an elite wasp spook Harvard graduate whose father was the president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank. Really well spoken, obviously extremely intelligent, and a fascinating man all-around.
I didn't think I was going to watch all of this. At first I didn't think he look that much like Tom Cruise. But I enjoy what he had to say and his journey. And the more I watched him....he has many same facial expressions and mannerisms as Tom Cruise. This gave me new respect for Tom Cruise, because I would've thought Mr. Cruise would get uptight about it. Mr. Cruise played it cool. Between Mr. Fisher responsibly and entertainingly using deep fake along with the acceptance by Mr. Cruise...what a great beginning and use for deep fakes. I know I had my reservations and fears about it. But the interview was well done and Mr. Fisher is definitely an intelligent and likeable guy.
His father is Richard W. Fisher, who was President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas from 2005-2015. He was them and currently a Senior Advisor to Barclays Plc (a British bank holding company), a Director of PepsiCo, and a Senior Contributing Editor for CNBC. And his mother Nancy was A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL BOARD OF THE AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE. To say "somewhat established" is so disingenuous. To have these two people as your parents is THE leg up in Hollywood, are you kidding me??? Honestly I couldn't go too much further watching this video after hearing that. Someone lowballing their advantages so to come off as down to earth and self-made is a bit sickening. Comment based on Miles's quote here: "I grew up with the somewhat established family in the world of finance, in the world of government. And I wanted to go to a place with there was no leg up. Where my last name didn't mean anything to anybody. And it was not 'oh man you went to Harvard', it was like 'dude, you finished high school? Like, why? Like, welcome to Hollywood.'"
I have to say, I did not plan on watching this. Had not heard of this whole Cruise deep fake universe and understood that this is (another) deep fake interview which I did not find too exciting. Turns out this interview was tremendously interesting (and held with a real human). I feel like I forgot a little bit about the quality of your main channel videos. I tune in every week for Creator Support - even though I‘m not really a creator, lol - but this main channel just offers another perspective and other value I somehow forgot about during your time of not posting on the main channel. Thumbs up for this interesting one.
Miles Fisher is my new favorite creator. And I get why you guys did it, but I feel like the "Tom Cruise" angle almost did a disservice to the depth of the conversation you had. One of the best and insightful interviews you guys hosted! Right after Deestroying? 2023 is off to a great "start."
this is great! somehow I thought you meant that you had interviewed the actual deepfake tom cruise model itself as though you were conducting an interview with tom cruise.
Mind blown. I remember Run Tom Run. What an intelligence, humility, foresight and creative artistry to tie it all together. Myles is a fkn bad ass. Following him to see where he does next. Brilliant interview! 😮❤😊
In the beginning of the video Miles says that Tom Cruise never advertised anything ever; I do believe Tom Cruise advertised the new Porsche 911 GT3 for the Top Gun Maverick premiere ;)
The first time I saw Miles Fisher was his impersonation of Tom Cruise in The Green Hornet. Unbelievable. No critism of Deep Fake Tom Cruise but I'm more impressed by Miles Fisher's 'uncomputerised' impersonation of Tom Cruise. His 2020 Presidential Run video was excellent.
We actually already have a TV show in France since 2022 called "l'hôtel du temps" where the host interviews decreased celebrities. The way they approached it was to ask their children their consent and to participate into the righting.
