I do not understand the "does not look pretty" thing. He's arguably one of the most beautiful player to look at. When he shoots, dribble, jump, everything done in full control of his body, it's just poetry in motion. Really reminiscent of MJ in certain cases.
Zaza actually is the reason we keep forgetting about kawhi. He's been more injury prone since then and even when he plays hes still amazing but he seems tentative about going all the way.
For sure-that dirty a## play changed the trajectory of his career unfortuantely. Damn shame. But the Warriors were good with Zaza cause they won, after being down by 20 when it happened. smh
It's becoming Harden and Harden to take the LA Clippers seriously. 😢 Edit: yes, this seems to have aged poorly in December. Richt now, they look VERY solid, and benching Westbrook was the best choice. 👍👏
I agree with Draymond when he said Kawhi didn't come into the game with real high expectations like a Kevin Durant, LeBron James, etc. Im a Spurs fan since 1989. I watched Kawhi his first 2 seasons and was ok. I didn't expect him to bust out because we had scores on our team but i just wanted to see him score some points. I was upset too because I liked George hill. He stood out in 2013. He was really started to look good. He was efficient is what i remember and he always made big plays defensively. In the 2013 playoffs is when he kind of took off. Made it to the finals and gave LeBron hell😅. Unfortunately Ray Allen hit that 3 😢. But we got it back the next year. Really after we won that championship, the rest is history. Kind of sucks Zaza stepped on his foot in 2016. I had no doubt in my mind we were gon win the title that year as we were cooking the Warriors. I had all the confidence in the world in Kawhi because he showed me enough to realize i was watching a player with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant ability. Once Kawhi went down i knew it was over for us against the Warriors. Im just glad people know who he is, saw the work he put in and he'll be mentioned with the greats but his injuries will always hinder his career a bit. He's already done enough to be considered a great. He still in his early 30s and he can move up in history if he stays healthy. That will be the story of his career unfortunately. Still love watching my boy. Even though he's a Clipper. One more thing before i go. I watched Jordan and Kobe. Those 2 are the only players he remind me of. Nobody else 😊
@@relykremok1225 Alternative facts. Kawhi's absence literally got him traded from the Spurs. We discussed it in every playoffs since being on the clippers. It was discussed for him being in TOR also. If YOU didn't pay attention, that's on you. BSPN and Faux sports both discussed it regularly. Skip and Shannon repeatedly discussed it. Where you been?
@@jdrmanmusiqking that's part of being a lakers lol,Westbrook in lakers and clippers ,the difference of hate he got is huge for example,it's just the lakers effect and media focus
Love your videos man. As somebody who’s just recently starting to become what you call a “real basketball fan”. Your videos are not only enjoyable but very educational and help people understand what makes people like Kawai so great even if it’s not super easy to see on the surface.
I love this guy. Solid game. Solid person. No......cats get hurt. But look, a player has his mentality and his swag. This is the biggest stage. Lenord post up. Lenord bump and move. K doesn't talk shit. He goes out and operates in space. Young players should emulate his mentality. You'll go far.
This is an old video as you can probably tell. Recorded before the season started. Something happened where I had to repost it. That’s why there’s no mention of harden. I’m gonna make an updated clippers video including harden and what’s going on there soon tho👀
What they dont tell you in the media that KAWAI LENARD is the Face of the NBA ATTITUDE N POUSE CHARISMA N CHARM N MOST OF ALL RESPECT FROM BOTH SIDE OF THE COURT HE DEFINES MANHOOD KNOWING WHAT HE NEED N NOT WHAT HE WANTS he is the most cualified player in all aspect to be the FACE OF THE NBA MY LOVE AND APRECIATION TO YOU KAWAI LENARD GOOD LOOK ALWAYS.
4 years later I think we can all agree kawhi derailed a potential top 10 all time career by signing with the clippers. Dude joined the most cursed franchise in NBA history and last 4 years shows the curse is still going strong...
He really did, I know he wanted to go to his home town but he literally had keys to a country. Felt could have probably won another cauae always thought that Raptors teams so underrated
great video. these are all the reasons why he's my favorite player of all time. I hope he wins a ring with the Clips, will really solidify his inclusion in the top 20. that being said, my 2c on his decisions are: it's easy to say the Raps might have repeated if Kawhi had stayed, but we forget that the next season we saw the LeBron-AD Lakers. plus the East had really buffed up with Butler joining Miami, and Boston and Milwaukee still staying strong. the season after, the East got heavier, and Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol had started aging really quick. we all know now that it had never been Kawhi's intention to really go to Toronto, because if he had his way in 2019 itself, he would have chosen to go home. it's just that Pop really wanted to get his money's worth for the trade.
@@tjx6250only thing really stopping the raptors from winning was LeBron. They made the conference finals w Derozan it wasn’t like they weren’t a playoff team. Deep roster fundamentally sound coaching they just needed a star. Kawhi filled that role perfectly but the team was already good.
@@officialroseworld1997 you are wrong on more ways than one. I don’t get why people act lilts east was the same. Derozan was not beating the 76ers with 4 all stars. Kawhi literally had to average 36 ppg 😂. Then there is mvp Giannis. I swear people have selective memory
@@officialroseworld1997 Derozan raptors would’ve lost to Philly bro. They made the conference finals in a weak ass east. I’m from Toronto everyone knows how shit that man was
i grew up playing at least two sports every year. freshman year of college i was on a trip to europe and stepped funny into an empty cobblestone plot. i heard (barely felt) a tiny snap between my hip and knee mid way up my right leg right on top. THE QUAD. it felt funny, almost like a warm sensation, and tightness, but virtually no pain, i was totally fine, barely noticed it the rest of the night... ...but the next morning my whole leg was on fire. I could barely move my leg in any direction at all....long story short....over the next 9 months, the moment i thought it was healed and i exerted anything on it, it would flare up and i'd be down for 2 weeks, could only walk gingerly. By month 12, I shut myself down for good on all athletics until i was 100% certain it was healed. in the meantime i got weekly ultrasound to keep it soft...which was probably unnecessary...but i wasn't taking chances. not because "i needed to get back to the team" or some crap, but because i wanted my life back... I was not a D1 athlete, i'm no medical expert, and i have no idea what Kawai was dealing with regarding his quad...i do know, however, of all the injuries i've sustained in my life, that tiny little quad tear was BY FARRRRRR the most aggravating of them all...the thing was, physiologically, i'm certain i could have trained better and recovered better...but the mind part, once you re-aggravate it a couple times, knowing just how easy all your healing progress would be lost, i really dont blame KLaw for shutting down that season. It just wasn't worth it to him, Spurs weren't going anywhere, and he was thinking about the long term, perhaps selfishly, but you can't blame a guy in that position, and what with the specific quad injury i can relate to, i give him even more leeway on that. and lastly, even if there was no risk of re-aggravation, there's something to be said for psychology part. When your brain is worried about specific parts of the body - compensating/favoring and so forth - not only are you not focused like you need, but you're also putting the other parts of the body at risk as they aren't in their natural state. anyway, didn't mean to write an essay, just wanted to offer my experience with the THE QUAD. tl;dr: i don't blame KLaw for shutting down his season during Quad-Gate; tearing your quad is not a good time
To me Kawhi is epitome of winning. Thats only what matters - winning. He doesnt care if he take 10 shots and score 15 or take 25 shots and score 40 points. He can play only on defense and make huge impact of the game. In case of him as a player - he reminds me of MJ. Not only of his game style - mid range, fadeways , but he doesnt waste movements, doesnt do fancy dribbles. Also he is very strong, hands like MJ. Very unique player wanted by every team.
Since he is not leading the league in scoring they dont think of him. Defense doesnt matter and clutch shooting doesnt matter to those MVP voters. When I watch Kawi Leonard with the ball I see a more fluid, longer armed MJ. He is a very efficient 3 level scorer with elite defense.
He could've run it back with the Raptors for a couple more seasons and went for another title or two. I can understand being in control of your own destiny and wanting to go home but at the same time, the Raptors were already contenders with him. Building a contending team is hard and often involves more patience than skill and usually more luck than patience.
He’s my fav player I love his style his personality I think he’s great and I’d love to see him with another chip I think the clippers need a kick in the balls tho and wake up and do the right thing by him and pg
Nobody has more effect on the court than Kawhi, when healthy. Closest thing to Mj minus the out of this world athleticism. What he does on defense almost can’t be calculated. He bogs down, frustrates n often breaks down the opposing team. I still believe GS would not have gotten past that Spurs team without the dirty play.
He should’ve signed a 1and1 with the Raptors after that chip. He’d at least have made another conference finals in the bubble and probably another finals. He should’ve at least ran it back with Toronto once because with LeBron out of the east, there was nothing in their way. I think he had one more chip in him up North.
Shouldn’t have let his uncle talk him out of being the face of the spurs franchise. 1 more year and his gravity would have kept that team in championship contention till this day no doubt
You're a honest guy, or at least I think you're have some examplary values if you choose to criticize kawhi Him not running wasn't even in regular practice but I guess you want to paint a narrative about the guy.
@@patrickiam All the greats had one thing in common: Sustained Excellence, the exact opposite of Kawhi’s career. Kawhi got lucky with the Spurs, then got lucky with the Raptors when Warriors key players got hurt. Other than these two lucky incidents, Kawhi had been all drama, entitlement, and load managements.
@@blue-phoenix115 kawhi excellence is sustained though he is a first ballot hall of famer I guess you can call it luck but he still had to make plays he still has to work for those achievements I wouldn't downplay any of it cause it's hard to get there not his fault the other guys couldn't show up
Kawhi Leonard is the TRUTH and shall rise up and take the Clippers to the FINALS and Win his Third Championship with his third team and probably be the MVP as well ! 💯🛐💚🔯💛☪️❤️🕉️
he's forgettable. why should anyone care about kawhi? He's the American Jokic. Nothing to see here, not enough flash, and isn't vocal... The media tried to force us to care and that didn't work. So on to the next young star..
Fact check: Lebron was pissed that they took a Timeout mid free shooting! They had done talk about this in the past. Btw, Lebron also shot the game winner on Kahwi in game 7
They love to say he may be fabulously good but it’s not pretty- guess what? it’s not pretty: it is beautiful. Like a big tiger. A big beautiful cat. I would watch Kawhi peel an orange.
If a healthy Kawhi stays with Toronto, he would've won maybe 2 or 3 more rings and surpassed Kobe as the closest thing to MJ, with some praising him as the GOAT. I know "ifs" don't mean anything but it's my own personal theory.
Lmao! Your own personal theory sucks. The entire Warriors team had to get injured for Kawhi to win in 6 and he needed one of the luckiest bounces in NBA history to beat Philly. You think that's happening 2-3 more times?
Glad he left the spurs because, you had pizza face Pop in his face at that time when he was hurt as well as phony parker and ginoboli taking shots at him so yeah don't blame him for leaving and getting another ring right after, sperms never been the same since he left and probably never will although he hasn't done great after Toronto but he's still in a position to win, not like the San Antonio sperms, even if they have that lanky arse rookie playing there now, think the guy is a fluke and they'll never win a championship unless someone else goes to play there,so hats off to ya Leonard keep ballin
What gets me is the way they treat Wembanyama in comparison to Kawhi. They treated him like S*** because he was a late first round pick. The whole team and coaches treated him like he was dirt before they made him. They took all the credit for everything. He had no say on anything, absolutely anything. Along comes Wembanyama and they give him the keys to the city and treat him like a king. They don't want him to go so they treat him with kid gloves. The reason why Pop told the crowd not to boo Kawhi is because he was embarrassed with the Spurs fans and how Wembanyama might think bad of the city. Pop never said a word to the crowd before all of these years.
@@jlolopez9623 yeah I hear you on that, they always say that the spurs fans are like the best fans in the NBA until a super star player wants out of that sorry city, but the fans didn't do that to phony parker when his starting role got taken by Murray and parker went to Charlotte for his last year or two, it'll probably be the same for too tall once they realize he's not gonna be what they thought he'd be and we'll see the fans boo him as well, pop needs to hang it up
