I have been with you every episode from the monohull beginning. Thanks to Zatara - I have sailed around the world - and know much more about sailing than I have a right to know. Keith is my favorite superhero. The dude has brains and money - and a kiss my grits attitude - and has the ability to tear up when tearing up is the best way of saying "I love You" to his family. I'm looking forward to this next chapter. (By the way - Keith has inspired me into a weight loss phase as well - and I will measure my loss against his - and try and keep up during the coming months.)
I’m 62 years young and I absolutely love Finn’s channel!! You all are amazing parents and have raised your kids right so everyone of them will do wonderful in life no matter what they do!! Love the ZATARA family!! So nice seeing you 2 keep going and doing what you love! God bless from Oklahoma!
Anytime I'm laying in bed and a huge party is happening nearby, rather than be frustrated by the noise, I try to celebrate that friends and family are connecting and that makes me smile.
Mr. Random, Thx for that incite we been going through a few long time biker friends passing, Sharon's car tire blowout need all new ones, my truck window came off the track, and maverick pooped in the hall.. all's good ♪ turn up the ♪ music B thankful we made it this far..
You’re silly Renee, of course we’ll keep watching !!!! Yes we miss the kids but personally, I think they’ll be back for bits of time ! Happy everything went well and your back on the water…..looking forward to this next season of life ! Blessings
Congratulations Keith and Renee! YOU DID IT!! The kids were raised to be productive adults, and the home was back in the water. You are never without family, remember kids will come home repeatedly, and your online family is with you wherever you go! You have new adventures and an exciting life ahead of you now. New memories, new people to meet, and places to go. This is a big world, as you know, there are still plenty of places to visit.
so lets see... 8 years ago, I joined you for no reason, other than I was bored being a stay at home dad, and blown away that anyone would actually grab life by the horns and wrestle it to the ground like this. My son was one year old.. Since then, our family has gone through job changes, babies starting school, going through middle school and entering high school, a pandemic, a traumatic brain injury where I almost lost my life, and three presidents. YOU, have been my comfort. My cup o coffee every thursday. I've been a voyeur as you have weened four beautiful kids on the water. I've watched through broken bones, and cancer threats. I've watched as you learned, and lived through my own lessons.. and here we are. Life by many is assumed. Many don't realize that the only bummer about life is no one knows how much time they have, and they spend it like it's only worth its weight in gold. Im so happy to have been here as you grew this, and I look forward to the empty nesters doing new and amazing stuff. R.C.
I can tell that you both have spent your life in service to your kids and I can imagine how difficult it must be to feel that shift as they become independent. Their transition to independence is a testament to the great job you and Keith did. The good news is, hopefully you will soon have grandkids that will repurpose that service at some point. I do not agree with you and Keith on all things (such as some political things) but I have never related more to two people in so many ways. I hope to be half the parent and mentor to my children that you two are someday (and I'm already a parent, just need to get better at it). Thank you for continuing to show us your journey. I learn a lot of small life lessons from the wisdom you and Keith provide.
My Dad told me that if two people always agree on everything then one of them is not thinking. Just think where we would be if we all agreed all the time. Progress would slow to a very slow crawl if at all. Keep in mind by Dad was born over 100 years ago. It holds true today.
You seem like a very humble person. I agree, my preference was to not get into anything political. This channel has been a refreshing break from all that political loud noise going on, globally.
I'm a 70 years young grandma and I've been watching since the beginning, with all the kids aboard... been a empty nester myself, although now I've been taking care of my Mami for the past 10 years. Promise I will continue watching every week!!! BTW, I am and I live in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico
However his wisdom on proper diet and exercise is lacking. You ever notice you don't see many old fat people? They all die prematurely for their lack of proper diet and exercise. I like Keith because he is a very smart man and has great DIY skills but I would really like him to show us all how smart he is by taking back his health from a crappy diet and lack of exercise that has obviously destroyed is body.
@@dianegriffith3006 that was over a year ago. You act like I just started watching this channel. It's hard to get proper exercise sitting on a boat stuffing your face with junk food. Keith needs the Keto diet and learn to fast regularly for boat life if he is not going to get any exercise. Will power is the issue we all battle with. He needs to motivate soon before he dies from obesity. Which is the #1 killer in the world today.
Renee you and your husband are the best example of parents i have ever witnessed in my lifetime .Believe me I know how much effort it takes,we’ll done you , you should be very proud. And thanks for taking us along
Renee & Keith, I have been watching you guys since the start. I was the desk sergeant at my police department when you guys started your journey and now I’m retired and I have continued to watch you guys every week. I have always said that Keith is my “spirit animal”. I tend do the same things around my house that Keith does around the boat. I love having my daughter and son-in-law and the grand kids living with me and the wife. Look forward to hearing how the kids are doing from time to time. God bless y’all. See you next week!
My friends Renée and Keith. I'm so happy to see you both back at the boat. I just thrilled with Montana and you can take me there again, but we're back on the hard with the Zee Team. I'm loving the tech round up and Cap'n Keith doing his amazing stuff, with the Ace Camerawoman giving us the hi-def eye full. Keep it up Zatara and Godspeed. I love you.❤❤❤😂
With everyone off Zatara, it opens opportunities for friends and patrons to join you for extended periods so that boat doesn’t feel so big and gives you additional watch hands for overnight & long passages. It must be very satisfying to know that Zatara is in great condition to take on new adventures.
I have to say, tears came when I saw you and Keith on the water. I miss the kids so much, I can only imagine how you both must be feeling. Can’t wait to see the adjustments that has to be made without them. Love you both, be safe and count on your boat families on the water. 🙏🏻💕🇺🇸
Keith is amazing with all the mechanics on the boat. ⛵️ I totally understand why you sealed the escape hatches after watching the Wynns epic fail when the escape hatch flew off.
@NJ-cathie: I'm sure y'all are right but it still worries me. Like tempting fate. You'll never need it unless you don't have it. Ive never sailed but I've seen this principle at work often during my 50ish short years. I'm "with" Keith though about somethings you just have to accept . He's right about that. But I'd still want two backup chutes if I ever skydived.
@@azul29156 I would just strap the safety raft to the back of the captains chair. I would be worried about a fire in the engine compartment more than anything. A good fire suppression system could easily alleviate that fear. I don’t know what a boat has but it would be a worthwhile investment.
Team Z........Always loved your Montana home, it is so beautiful there ! Fantastic to see you back on the water again. Oh ! one more thing Renee n Kieth ....you are not alone, always bear in mind and consider your 611K subscribers & growing are always with you and look forward every Thursday to the vlog. FAIR WINDS !
Hi there Zatara, it’s rare that Cats flip over as Keith mentioned, thankfully you dodged a bullet with Cyclone Beryl. A Yacht named Fair Isle ( Y.T.) went in to caracou and filmed the cyclone damage of the aftermath. Many of those boats thought they’d be safe up in the mangroves, not this time. The yacht Fair isle made a spontaneous decision to leave Grenada before the cyclone hit, best decision he made. It is worth watching just to give you an idea of the reach of that storm. The couple that live on the boat are Ex BBC film journalists.
Keith needs to do something about that or he's going to have a heart attack but he already knows that. I used to be close to that big and its very very bad for you in multiple of ways.
This was episode 1 of the empty nest, as it was clearly a hard video for Renee to make. Keith looks thrilled to be at the helm, fiddling with fixing stuff…Things will fall into a routine again. Renee’s promotion to “1st mate” could be a new challenge for the marriage. Through all the years of videos there’s been Keith and the boat and Renee who has yet been “hands on”, except taking the watch. Does Renee know how to set the sails? During passage I’m sure picking up a hand or two shouldn’t hard. My prayers to all your family. I know all of them are doing well. I wish Jack and Kate would post. Life has been giving them a rough time losing a friend, now an earthquake… i know you’ll be happy when they come back in a few months. Keep posting… we’re watching :)
Welcome home, Keith and Renee. You've completed your parental duties and raised wonderful, productive adults who are not off to make their mark on the world. Now it's time for you two. Time to sail around the world with each other, enjoy each other for the fine work accomplished with your children and enjoy retirement. I can't wait to enjoy sharing what you guys share with us viewers. Thanks for posting this video.
When cleaning mold from surfaces, use vinegar. It effectively kills the fungi and prevents spores from becoming airborne and potentially affecting your lungs.
Welcome to the Empty-nesters Sailing Club! We sailed last Season mostly alone and had a blast. We did also love the weeks with friends and relatives but learned a lot sailing with just the two of us.
Hi, I'm so glad you're back on board. Now the kids have 'flown the nest' your adventures will be even more memorable. I've followed you since the children were very young so looking forward to participating once again, My best, David
Last 8 yrs I have enjoyed the adventures every week. Watch the kids grow and move on!! Now I'm looking forward to your adventures!!! All the best, smooth sailing!
She is finally back in the water again! 😀 It's going to be nice to follow your new adventures, even though it is just in the Caribbean. And yes Renee, that Sunreef 60 is absolutely stunning! My favorite cat at the moment.
I think this episode is the beginning of a new chapter,, thank you for updates on the children. And so the new chapter begins. See you out on the water❤
Great to see you out on the water again. Yours is a different journey now, at least for awhile. It will be nice to have the focus on all that you and Keith are experiencing. The kids were always such a distraction 😂😂😂😂
renee, you're funny. you said, "...I'm not a boat person..." I just about spit my coffee out when you said that! You, Ms. Renee, are a sailor! A frigg'in great sailor! Don't kid yourself. Thanks for your videos.
I happened to watch a video of yours 4 years ago, and then I watched it now 4 years later! I am impressed by your persistence in the passing of time! Blessings from China to you!
To tell you the truth I’m really looking forward to you guys sailing together with out the kids, you had a long time with them now it’s your turn, hope all goes well for you, exciting times ahead guys enjoy !
Aloha Mates, of course, I will continue to watch. Always forward. As many say, the Zatara's Crew is righteous and the parents Renee and Keith are Smooth...
I promise you guys it will get better. From what I`ve seen on your channel you have successfully raised bright, independent children. They will thrive. Now you will rediscover `yourselves`. I know of what I speak ! Been there...
Hooray!!! You are really back, alone, but back. Kate & Jack must be really busy, since I haven't seen a video since the one when they got there. Finn looks like he is really enjoying his van life. Can't wait until next week. You and Keith will do just fine. Happy sailing.
Just found this. Looks like a good bunch of folks and it seems like I may well be joining at a good time, a time of great change. So I'll rewind a few years and see what you've been up. At the age of 48 and with a child just left home....adventure awaits for me as well. 🙂
Your boat is upgraded to the ultimate degree but I do sympathise with Renee saying she is not a mechanic when married to a man who clearly very much is. Unless one actually does everything oneself I doubt one can really learn. Keith is amazingly knowledgeable. He can fix anything. He must spend huge amounts of time researching. I love your ranch in Montana but I look forward to your upcoming adventures. Your boat is superb. Your children are wonderful.
New intro...I cried...just a bit. No one will stop watching...we love you guys. Oh and your reference to the Wynns losing their life raft and that hatch coming undone, was a super scary episode...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. So glad they made it to their destination unscathed. They also sealed theirs in. When Keith works on stuff...pay attention...ask questions, you never know if it will be something at some time you will need to do. Stay safe!
OMG!!! I love the new beginning with short music/ With Empty nest text etc😂😅 Can't wait to see the Empty Nest Additions!!! Maybe the kiddos will make "Guest" appearances in the future!! Nevertheless, I will always look forward to my Thursdays (coffee in hand) with y'all!! Love from Ohio💖💯⛵️☀️🌊
I'm a 50 yr old woman with no kids and no partner, so I am always interested to get a look at how my fellow Gen xers are living in different circumstances. It will be super interesting to me to see how you navigate through this new chapter. I have loved getting an inside look at the family life that I never got to experience and this will be the same! Thanks for keep sharing your life.
Empty nest years are an adventure too and you will find plenty to keep your fans entertained and coming back. My husband and I are having the time of our lives! You will too!
I found your channel during the pandemic and i'm not going anywhere! Thank you for hours of fun with your family during your adventures. You two are such a good team to watch and i will follow Finn and any of the other kids that want me to! Love to you all!
Not easy having and empty nest. Welcome back, I have been watching from the start of your channel, I am not going to lie, I miss your kids. But I love that you and Keith will have great adventures and get to remember what made you fall for each other in the first place. My husband and I have been empty nesters for about 8 years, did know if I was going to make it for the sadness, but I did, one came back for a bit and now we are alone again. WE travel and keep ourselves occupied with our pontoon boat!
of course I will still watch and enjoy your show. Your kids are great too and I have enjoyed watching their channels. This is a wonderful time for you both, to have a new type of adventure, you will still have plenty of time with your kids albeit not daily. I am about 6 years ahead of you in empty nesting. It is a hard transition but like you two it has been a wonderful time to be a part of me watching my kids be involved in life itself, independently. Such a blessing!! Grieve and also enjoy this time. Life gives us seasons, new seasons can really be fun!
Not to worry, I'll be stickin' 'round. IMHO the two of you is what makes the channel worth watching. looking forward to Kieth and I loosing weight together.😉
Woohoo! A new adventure begins! The episode ended so quick…I wanted to go shopping with you. 🤣. So looking forward to next Thursday. Love from So. California 🥰❤️
As you both know the foundation stone of Sailing Zatara is you both, you could be both sitting in the cabin lounge chatting and we would watch. So going forward we have Keith’s fitness program, more of the Caribbean in detail, continuation of catamaran projects and how to survive the elements that occurred onboard a Sailing vessel. We love you both and admire what you have done and the alternative lifestyles. Stay safe, God Bless 🙏🙏⛵️🇺🇸
Love Finn channel! All that you have put into these amazing kids shine bright from within them. Can't wait to watch the grandchildren, hopefully you'll still be posting 😊
Well the new chapter has begun, and off with smooth sails and prayersfor gentle following seas. My the wind take you to where you please 🙏 safe travels and I for one look forward to watching your journey as long as you will have us. Keith, I have full faith that your health and weight-loss journey will be another fantastic change for the better to add to your journey 🎉 keep up the tremendously great job!! Renee, your storytelling literally keeps me looking forward to starting my days with your channel ❤
Little fun fact back in 2019 during a storm in New Zealand A 50meter catamaran was flipped over end to end, Go to esysman super yachts The video is about the Bayesian yacht that had sank, the video is interesting to say, thumb tile of the episode is Bayesian engineer &22 yr old deckhand added to criminal probe due to the 7lives lost
Looking forward to following you guys again on your new journey's just the both of you, I have followed you both since you boat that single hull in FL watching you lay the sails out on the grass etc..think you new journeys now will still be awesome
I'm glad you're "back on the water" . . . looking forward to the new chapter in Zatara's life. The kids will be back on the boat before you know it - you'll never keep them off for too long.
Our boat was about 2 rows behind you. We arrived in April and will be back in December. Wish we were there, but lots to do in GA plus we get to spend time with the kids and our new Granddaughter!!!!
I am excited for your next chapter of sailing adventures. It looks like Keith and Renee are too. Although the kiddos are off on their own adventures, they are indicators of how well they were raised. I have seen a few videos Finn has posted. He is definitely a free nature spirit. It is so interesting, for me, to see your catamaran out of the water. All I know about sailing and boats, I have learned watching a few sailing channels. I am happy that these lovely sailors share their adventures. I don't watch TV and am grateful for wholesome entertainment
You are a good family! You raised kids I can only dream about how to raise my own two kids. You have great values and if more people had those the world would be so much better. My comments on the 2 last episode were just trying to be funny but know I admire you two!! How you see life, how you raised your children and how you live your life!! You are amazing people and deserves everything good coming your way.
Talking about beatbox music keeping you awake - that's why I sleep with a fan even in winter. The noise of the fan cancels out any other noise for the most part - and I sleep like a baby.
Renee, when we're on the hard for an extended time we spray a thin layer (think Lysol mist) of mold killer in the fridge, sinks, toilet and freezer and let it stay. Dont wipe it off until u return. Saves so much time scrubbing and cleaning and decreases mold growth. Check label if u use on any other surfaces and let sit such as fabrics.
Always a very nice escape to visit with yall on Thursday mornings.....Thank you for sharing....I've been with you since the beginning of your adventures.
Calvin and Karen watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. So happy your boat is fine after the hurricane 🌀.. Nice to be floating again.. Ready for next adventure..
Hey, you guys really get to see a video again especially in the water. Sure seems funny not to have at least one of the kids around. Thanks for a fun video. Thanks for bringing this along as always. One day. I’m gonna meet you guys take care. Be safe please.
Keith and Renee, very excited for your new upcoming adventures on the high seas! Will miss the kids, of course, but I know you two will keep entertaining us with each new port, country and location you'll be visiting. To those who think otherwise, a) c'est la vie (that's life) and b) fermez la bouche! (shut your mouth, lol - I know that's rude, but please see 'a', again, lol!) We love you both, and can't wait to see all your future 'alone' series. I enjoy watching Finn's channel and also love his content, and also wish him the best with his new VW campinglife adventures. You and his Dad taught him well so I'm sure he'll do fine, no worries, Renee. All your children will be successful, so have no fears there either. 🌻🍍Love ya, both!❤🙏
Renee, you’re the younger version of me. And watching you and Keith reminds me of my dreams of escaping society. Love living vicariously through you , another fellow Texan.
I heard Keith mention he’s never heard of a cat flipping in the last 20 years…check out the video of the tornado that hit that super yacht in Italy. The guy in the cat was reportedly ok. Y’all be safe! Love your videos
