After our upper peninsula deer camp I didn't get out and do much hunting. The corn was still standing and with the firearms season adding pressure to neighboring properties I wanted the deer to feel safe near where I was hunting so i stayed out of the woods. On my first sit back on the farm the farmer was harvesting the corn. So I decided to do an all day sit with the hopes he would kick something out of the standing corn . As the night went on 10s of hundreds of deer came into the field to eat the fresh excess corn cournals. There were a few big michigan bucks that came out through the night but most of them stayed off in the distance.
The next hunt Rob Eric and I set up in the fence rows for a muzzleloader season. A lot of deer came out into the field as well as a really aggressive buck that was charging any other buck that was in the field. My brother also had some buck action just out of range but ended up taking a button buck at the end of the night.
As the season went ended the deer activity stayed consistent other than the bucks weren't near as active as they were in the past few months or past few years.
