@johnparke659 THAT Gwen Stefani was so horribly disrespectful, there was absolutely no conviction in her delivery, like there is with Talk Talk's vocals, the harder beat, etc.
This is in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. It’s the defining new wave/pop song of the 80s in my opinion. I listen to this at last twice a week. This is a perfect song and video for Easter Sunday. The group No Doubt did a cover of this but it doesn’t come close to this gem. So glad y’all are into it! Thanks guys!
Mark Hollis had one of the most amazing voices, romantic , sexy and haunting at the same time. This is one of my favorite songs of all time ❤❤❤❤❤ Rest in peace Mark.

Love this original as it came out in a gorgeous time that I remember in my childhood. I nearly lost my mind when No Doubt released the cover * fantastic for bike rides to work!!! * You guys wonderful!!! 😻
No Doubt covered this song and it is amazing. I grew up in the 80’s so I loved this song and then in the 90’s when No Doubt covered it I actually like it better
Gwen steffani did a remake in 2002. She's a child of the 80s it's no wonder where she's got her inspiration from. It's a beautiful song. RIP to Hollis who passes about 4 years ago.
Love this song ! Big hit in the eighties in the dance clubs , I remember dancing to this ! This song has been remixed quite a few times , there's a lot of fast versions of it !

Going to be honest. It took me a while to warm up to the Talk Talk version of the song, due in part to how good No Doubt's version was. But I also feel that back in the day only a really low quality version of Talk's version was available too. In recent years I find it just as easy to listen to now.
Completely the opposite for me. And I like No Doubt. Theirs is a cover and nothing else. The tempo is the same and the arrangement very similar, which made the whole thing pointless to me. Undoubtedly, it brought in a lot of money to Mark Hollis and company, which couldn't have been a bad thing.

Well, the video never got me. It's kinda strange or ... I don't know. But the song and the band!!! Best of 80ies without a doubt. How I miss this decade, those bands and songs 🥲
