Your transparency is almost too much to handle lol. You two are doing an amazing job and setting a great example. Cheers to double your revenue and impact in 2024!! 🎉
Would love to see an intern-focused series. Mikey Franklin worked on the Fair Pay Campaign to help end unpaid internships back in 2014. I wonder what the state of internships is these days. When I was a student, I was in a co-op program, and the school made sure you paid students (or you didn't hire them). Happy to chat/brainstorm about this if you'd like. Another area is nonprofits. A lot of older nonprofits (especially in DC!) pay their folks terrible wages (like $35K/year).
I’ve been watching your channel since its infancy and I’ve always loved your content and I appreciate how transparent you guys have been about your growth. I’m rooting for you guys. Looking forwards to seeing you both growing more and more
Con freaking grats you guys! I really enjoy your vids. They are real, encouraging, and give the audience real attainable steps to making career goals come true without the dry advice of just “work hard”. Looking forward to this year
Congrats! Though I am happily retired, I love watching your salary transparency videos. I believe it showcases real people working real jobs. I've passed on the link to friends with teenage / College age kids as another source of info when deciding what they wish to do in the next few years and on into the future. Wishing you even greater success in 2024. Thank you❤
I love this! I’d been interested in street interviews and wanted to know how they made money, but I could never find a good answer. This not only answered that question, but broke down content creation as a business and what it truly takes to run that business!
So happy to have met you both in ATX last year! Love your positive energy, and what you all are doing for working professionals. Hope to see you both again in Austin this year🙂
I love this! Could you talk about how much money you spend paying taxes, including payroll/UI/estimated/etc etc. I think sometimes people only save some of their earnings for expenses and paying employees, not realizing how much is owed to our government too. It's so hard to own a business, but you guys are doing a splendid job at it!
Good for the both of you. I get to see your finished product but I know you are hard at work editing in addition to admin. Oh yeah, and travel, that is a lot of time and expense. You took a risk and bet on yourselves. You deserve those profits and then some.
Beautiful couple and an amazing message. I love what you guys do and hope you can continually be blessed. Maybe more negotiating and networking tips in the future?
I absolutely love the mission and incorporation of impacting legislation. Come to Hawaii and go downtown! I would def. say my salary . what are your guys educational backgrounds?
❤ ot would be great for you guys to come out towards Charlotte. There is a lot of manufacturing out here. I myself am a production planner. It would be awesome to hear more real world jobs.
I am a retired baby boomer (nursing) but hv discovered this channel and hv shared w my kids who are in their 30’s & 40’s. My heart actually hurts whn I see how complicated it is these days for thm to even get an interview, a job, a date, but the one thing I had & hv always thought a game changer wld be is to expose people’s salaries!! Companies hv fought tooth & nail for decades to keep this private, so im over the moon for the nxt generation to gain access thru channels like yours in order to level the playing field and pay fair salaries for ALL. Keep up this great, vital work guys! If u were my kids id be proud as a peacock!!
Thanks! A lot of people asking this, but we don’t ‘zero’ out the company at the end of the year. We feel more secure keeping this in the bank as liquid capital given our partnerships and other means of income can be inconsistent. Retained earnings!
I love your content it is excellent and very transparent, and helpful. It has opened my eyes to a lot of job fields and opportunities I didn't know existed. I hope you guys triple your salary and have more positive impact on the job labor market 😊
Очень интересно смотреть вас из другой страны. Благодаря такому контенту можно узнать кто и как живет по ту сторону океана ✌удачи вам в вашем деле, продолжайте развитие.
I am sure STS is familiar with the HR3D tool that many employers use to determine market rate salaries. I am guessing that data cant be published for publics use. I wonder how the HR3D tool compares to STS salary database.
Building not just a website from scratch, but a fully-functional, scaleable database that can organize thousands of data points, costs money. It’s not Squarespace or Wix.
That is still too much. I would've built the whole thing over 2 or 3 weekends for 10k USD. Not saying to make you feel bad, but just providing transparency.@@SalaryTransparentStreet
aha clever developpers they hired.. It can adds up real quick tho but yeah tech nowadays is not as hard as 10 years ago and could cost way less but at least the website is clean and fonctionning properly and can scale
It's a nice looking website but I'm sorry you got taken for a ride at $215k. Scaling to thousands of entries is absolutely nothing for a database. It'd probably still be under the free tier of aws rds for example. Sounds like the dev did a great job marketing himself and overselling
Holy shit, I never expect a RU-vidr to put out actual numbers. Is a 30% margin normal for RU-vidr (or content creators)? I would've expected the margins to be much higher.
Congrats on your successful year. Yes we are appreciative of being more aware of what our fellow Americans meet. I wish the best for you all. God bless you both in Jesus name.
Re September cash flow, are you using accrual accounting or cash accounting? Because if you were using accrual accounting, that would give you a more balanced picture of how earnings accrue.
I noticed alot of your higher salaries are tech heavy devs/data sci whose total comp is hugely bonus and rsu focued, as you are aware amazon and alot of tech companies have back end vesting of rsu in year 3-4, but 90% of people will quit before 2 years, so this is quite misleading, I think its good to let people know and also focus on guys/gals who have just big base pay in general, I know too many tech people in year 1 and 2 who claim they make 300-400k but their base is only 85-120 (which is not bad, but misleading), and rest is highly variable etc. Gives too much false hope to the majority of people who can never attain jobs at those types of companies. Best of luck!
