I have followed since the days of your small little apartment when u just stated your channel. Listened to your podcasts, warched you get married, move to your first home. You have invited us into your lives through COVID, illness, birth of your boys, and being vulnerable about changes for your future. Life is not meant to stay the home, to be stagnet and complacent. Your new home is so warm and lovely looking and i can see the love and respect your are showing each other and your home. Congrats on doing your life the way you WANT!!! XOXO sending you all the best energy from OH-IO! 😂

Please talk about why you stopped eating keto. Just your thoughts about that. Your house is beautiful! And I m glad you’re creating more of a structure for kids, like only eating at the table, and having them help out. It’s so good for them. It gives them a sense of security, a feeling of being capable, and it puts you in charge instead of them.

It's been so fun watching your family grow and content evolve. I've lived in all 3 and in my experience the country is the best. There's nothing like country tranquility and the space to get your toes and hands in the dirt...you're in for a treat when your boys are a bit older and they start exploring nature! My 3 oldest boys are teens now and I miss those years in the country w them! Im so thankful my youngest son is 10 and is still a tree and dirt explorer! Lol I live in the north east and homes are incredibly expensive here. We live in a village district now ( small neighborhood right outside the city limits) and desire moving back to the country so much but it doesnt make practical sense to give up our interest rate, so here we stay. Im grateful for the bit of earth we do have though and that our property abuts some protected nature trails so that we do still enjoy nature while being only 7 minutes to the city. Enjoy making your new house a home! Cant wait to see all your projects! ❤

Life is certainly an evolution. And our values and priorities shift and morph as we mature. Happy for you guys and sticking around despite the channel changes. And your move to MI was certainly an awesome time to implement changes (like not eating on the couch or starting the boys with chores). From my experience (I'm over a decade ahead of you) it's been so gratifying to know my kids know how to do things. Sometimes it's frustrating or cumbersome to have the littles "help" but I can testify that it's worth the time and effort. Way to go!! You won't be sorry!! And excited to see Matt 's woodworking too

It's so weird, I followed this account back in the day doing keto. I've also transitioned away from keto, but I also live in rural Northern Minnesota in a forest and it's wonderful how slow life feels here. We don't have kids, but it's crazy how quickly our nieces and nephews have grown up, and I'm sure with your own kids it's nice to give them this new lifestyle as you learn how you like your family to live.

Remember, the only constant in life is change! I'm so happy for your new adventures in Michigan! Starting a garden is a labour of love and it can be daunting sometimes, but the more you learn, the more you love it! Seeing as you are in the same State, I highly recommend subscribing to the MI Gardener YT channel! I've followed Luke's growing guides for years, even though I live in the mountains in BC, Canada, they are informative and easy to follow. His channel has years of gardening content, he also has a young family and has been through many changes the last few years, I think you will love it! Good to see you guys! Everyone looks great! What a big change for you. The boys have gotten so big! So precious. I think you'll be more happier in the country. Its a slower way of life. The kids will love it! (I live in the country/suburbs of Atlanta 👋where I've raised my kids). They loved it and they turned out to be great adults...responsible, respectful and hard working. The country helped with that, I believe. Been following you since Philadelphia and was on the Keto journey with you. Ive been off Keto for about 2 years but going back after the holidays. I felt so good on Keto, so much energy and felt clean~body and mind. I've felt really shitty since I stopped. I want to thank you for ALL the content you guys have put out over the years. Your cookbooks, cooking shows, your podcast, IG lives in the mornings, etc., it really helped me, you have no idea. I miss the the Murder stories you used to have, was it on Thursday nights? Maybe you can pick that back up after the kids go to bed.🤞😉 That was so much fun. Anyway, its been quite awhile since Ive seen you guys and its really good to see your lovely faces again. I feel like it's probably a combination of things. 1. Having kids makes doing certain diets more difficult. 2. Megha's health issues probably play a huge part. I have a brother with kidney issues, and he has a lot of food restrictions. 3. Matt has said in other videos that he has been the type of person who experiments with different diets. This is just my guess, but I like them as a family and have been watching since Philly, so I will continue to watch.

I'm really excited for your family to make this transition into sustainability and self-sufficiency. You have a beautiful home and property! After spending my childhood on a working farm and moving to an suburban environment I prefer the close proximity to amenities that 'city living' accommodates. But I definitely miss having a huge garden and preserving all our own food. It's very empowering to grow your food and know exactly what's in it. I have my garden planned and my seeds arriving next week so I'm ready to start my seeds in February. I can't wait to see what you decide to plant!

Country is definitely the way to go. I was born, raised & am still a rural Iowa farm woman. When we first got married, we lived in a small town, actually where our high school was. Hubby worked at the Elevator & I at the nursing home. I hated living in even that small town for 1 year😵‍💫 Rural isn't as handy for running to get things when your garden isn't producing, but family grows so close! My friends raised in town, really only went home for meals! They were running around town with friends. I always felt bad for people in towns. Megha, you will have a whole new world open up for you. I can definitely see you canning! Your house looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations to you guys! I am a longtime follower from when you were dating. Matt was cooking something & I think you where working at a dentist then(?) Matt kept talking about "Megha" so I had to keep watching to see you❤ I've enjoyed watching you two grow & the kids come into the world! I know you'll be happy to have the rule , eating at the table😉 I can't wait to watch what the future holds for you all and am excited to watch you guys learn to garden etc. We have large gardens too & we can A LOT! Good organic food❤ Bless you! PS: Tell Matt dark walls REALLY shrink a room and make it look & feel small. Just FYI. 😉

I sure miss your keto content!!! You were probably my first RU-vidr keto exposure back in 2018 when I started.... But love your family, and you can't go wrong in the country! We did it for about 25 years when our family was young too. 🎄

Yes, compost breaks down slower in the winter. Plus it’s not getting any sun right there. If it’s not getting sun, it won’t compost as fast I love composting it’s the richest soil for the garden. Plus it saves all of the green scraps from landfills.

You could try trench composting .. we did that for years .. dig a trench in the garden, dump your scraps and cover up. Next spring you won’t even know where the food is.

Congratulations on the move! I love the idea of wall-to-wall bookshelves, and I think building them would be a very satisfying project. I am a beginner DIYer and built a simple kitchen cabinet last year. I enjoyed the process. Bourbon Moth Woodworking has some great RU-vid videos, if you haven't yet discovered him. Of course, you don't have his workshop (yet!), but he'll give you ideas on how to construct things. He's also nice to listen to if you can't sleep at night and want to drown out doomsday thoughts. ;)

We've been watching you guys for years, since before you were married! We followed a Keto lifestyle for years, but as life changed for us, we moved in a different direction. Still eating healthy as we can afford, and prioritizing protein, but also making room for the foods that we love and can share with friends and family. I love, love, so much how authentic you guys are! It is real life, growing and changing, having kids, doing what works! I can relate to you guys even more now. Thanks for everything you do! 🫶

Can’t wait to see what is in store for your family. I love gardening and growing my own food, so I am excited to watch your garden progress. If I may suggest some RU-vid channels: MIgardener : he is in Michigan and owns an online seed and garden supply store. He has awesome videos on how to start seeds indoors and planting a vegetable garden. He mostly has a raised garden beds. Garden answer: Laura is the truth when it comes to flower gardens and vegetable gardens. She is based in Oregon. The rusted garden: wealth of knowledge when it comes to vegetable gardens!!!! He is based in Maryland. Charles Dowding: specializes in no dig Gardening method.

Sweet potatoes: My son-in-law grows lots of sweet potato varieties, including Japanese. I just plant one variety each year, and he gives me whatever he grows. They need a warm season ... the sweet potato slips are usually the last things planted in the garden. We're in Zone 6b - recently changed to 7a. We start slips inside in January or February and plant them outside in mid-May. The slips may be planted in pots inside prior to warmer weather ... you'll get a little head start that way. SO: try sprouting your Japanese variety now!! There are various ways to try to get them to sprout (and keep in mind that some from the stores won't... be sure to start with organic) ... some people use toothpicks to suspend one end in water - some cut the end off and some don't. I didn't like this way. Some place in a box, closed up, in a warm place. Some put sand in the box first. Some put a mixture of sand and seed starting medium. Some moisten the sand / seed starting medium. I've tr8ed all these ways and have had success. Some potatoes send off lots of shoots. Some only a few. Whatever the case, once a shoot / slip gets about 3" long, pick it off and put the bottom into water. It will grow. Slips may even be divided once they get bigger. I hope that helps! Enjoy!! ❤
