nice airbnb!! looks really cosy. Hahaha, pineapple is delicious on pizza and definitely sounds yummy on a burger!! $4 is so cheap wow! Great content guys.
Perfect timing. I'm flying to South Korea on Wednesday and I was wondering if I should add Suncheon to my itinerary or not :) Thanks a lot I have been following your adventures since you did land in Seoul and I'm slowing catching up the older videos. I'm loving your content.
The wetlands park in Suncheon in really incredible, we are glad we went. We have had some people from Korea say that it's maybe not the best city to visit though, so YMMV.
@@OnePackWanderers That's the feeling I had. Probably not the best city to visit but a nice base camp for daily trips to Yeosu, the Wetlands, Boseong or Seonamsa. Enjoy your last days in Korea and wishing you all the best for the next country. @nangnangee I will stay 3 weeks so I will have time to go south
Thank you for visiting these less known places wherever you go. So cool to see places outside of Seoul, Busan and Jeju…. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary of your traveling around the world journey! Can’t wait to see more!
Must-visit place list - 순천만습지 (Suncheonman Wetland), 순천만 국가정원 (The Suncheonman National Garden), 낙안읍성 (Naganeupseong Folk Village) 선암사 (Seonamsa Temple - UNESCO World Heritage Sites), 송광사 (Songgwangsa Temple)....^^
It's rainy season in Korea, so the sky is cloudy. My most favorite trip place in Korea is Yeosu, GeumoDo(Geumo island 여수 금오도). I go there every month. Yeosu is nearby Suncheon and Geumo island takes an about 1 and half hour from Yeosu port. It's a so good and easy tracking course(sea and mountain) and fresh sashimi seafood. I recommend that there. Thanks for your video ^^
Your choice of destination was excellent. If you go to Suncheon City's website, You can find a place to visit in Suncheon. (english support) Must-visit place list - 순천만습지 (Suncheonman Wetland), 순천만 국가정원 (The Suncheonman National Garden), 낙안읍성 (Naganeupseong Folk Village) 선암사 (Seonamsa Temple - UNESCO World Heritage Sites), 송광사 (Songgwangsa Temple)
About pineapple on burgers, did you know that McDonald's Filet'o'Fish was invented to still have people eat at McDonald's during catholic Lent, but it would almost have been a pineapple based burger invention. The Fish burger just did way better so that won out in the end. That is also the reason that McDonald's always have Filet'o'Fish even if they sell very poorly.
Love how you add the bloopers at the end. Congrats to Collette1991 for winning the postcard and your one year anniversary of traveling. I'm wondering where you'll be next? Guess I have to tune in, eh. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your time in Suncheon
I recommend visiting Daejeon! It's a laid back city and I think you guys would enjoy the gyejoksan red clay hike and visiting the cloud bridge on daedunsan mountain :)
It was nice to watch your videos in S. Korea. Have a safe trip. I agreed that only "quitting job" so you can travel in different countries like that!. I hope I can visit S. Korea someday!.
In my opinion Suncheon and its neighbor Yeosu are the best cities to travel around. And suncheon has the national garden as you know but I recommend you to visit Nagan eupseong folk village which is a fortress town you can see very traditional local houses that has different style from Jeonju hanok village. You would feel like you are in an ancient korean local village. It’s so unique even for korean people
The north-east coast of Korea is so different. It has the spiraling limestone mountains like in Vietnam. You would be shocked how different the north-east coast is from the rest of Korea. Definitely worth visiting.
Definitely will visit northeast Korea in the future, as well as Jeju. Our international driving permits have expired, so we cannot rent a car right now which is what we really should do for these areas.
Those murals were so cool! Sometimes there's nothing like food from home. Eating out every day is no walk in the park (see what I did there? Cause you walked in a park, hahahaha). 😁🙄
North of eastern coast is gangwon province(?) which is hardcore mountaineous so sparser people and relatively less transportation infrastructure. Still it does have its own charm tho lol
Wow, I love it that you guys picked your next destination as you're walking out of your last. Also, had no idea that you load your own bags into the baggage compartment lol! You guys are very observant.... and taking your time and taking it all in must help with that. You know, I love that mural that you showed. It shows the transition in different styles of cartooning in different decades. And that was some of the cartoon work I would see when I was there in the 70s and 80s as a kid. It would be everywhere from bubble gum, toys, morning cartoons, etc. So cool. Now I need to go get a burger lol!
We did not know the mural depicted evolving styles of cartoons in Korea, that is really cool. Tia's dad went to Korea in the '80s and from what he has said, it seems like the country has changed a great deal since then. Would've been very interesting to see it back then 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers Oh yeah, I think you guys would have loved those days. Back then they didn't have a lot of their own shows as they do now so it was a period of a lot of dubbing of english movies and shows. McGyver in Korean. lol. Lots of dirt roads. My grandmother would take us through a plot of land she had in the country (similar to some of your shots of rice fields). There would always be a hut or a cart to serve ice cold coca cola in bottles. Kind of how you might in other countries now. I always wondered how they got the ice up there every day. And it felt like they were playing bongjak everywhere. The cab. The bus. I'm not sure why, I guess people become nostalgic for the old. I'd really love to hear bongjak everywhere again. lol!!
I can read the phrase from the wall when you were enjoying hamburger. "The footsteps has its unique flavor while you walk slowly, and it is very similar to enjoying each rich flavor while you enjoying food slowly" Sorry for bad translation but you would understand what it means to you both! I hope you enjoy korea the best and enjoy your lovely happy life forever for both!
We slow travel full-time and try to get accommodation that has at least a kitchenette. If we can make breakfast and coffee at home it saves us a lot of money. Some places we cook our second meal (we only eat 2 meals a day) at home if there's no less expensive local food but that's not common and depends on the country. Your videos are awesome thanks for taking us along 👍😀
Hi Guys, I started watching your journey from Seoul and Wow!! I loved all of you're videos from Seoul, Jeonju, Busan, Kyunju and Sunchun!! Yes. It's sad that you're leaving in a week too.. I am Korean American and from Southern California!! Thank you guys!! Keep traveling!! Take care! ❤ 💅 ❤ 💅 ❤ 💅 ❤
Yep! They're holding up very well. The synthetic straps are much more durable than the leather straps. We bought them right before our trip, about a year ago. We'll be replacing them soon because we're wearing through the soles, but to be fair we've put 2000-ish miles on them.
To be completely honest, we ate grilled chicken breast, rice, and salad (sans sweet dressing) most the time 😂 It's super lame but we used to eat that dish a lot and we haven't really found it (affordably) in all our travels.
Not boring. Good clean food. Do you have access to pineapple? If you do, I would suggest cutting the chicken up for a stir fry. Pineapple is rich in vitamin C. It also contains an enzyme called bromelaine, which helps good digestion properties. Stir fry onions, garlic and peppers (of your choice), add chopped chicken, add vegetables of your liking and availability, then add the pineapple and whatever sauces you want. I like sweet Asian chili sauce and soy sauce. Put that over rice and yum! As for salad, my mother always made a lemon vinaigrette....oil, lemon juice with salt, pepper, and basil. Lemon has a lot of properties for good digestion and health. And I've learned that you have a sweet tooth...take some of the pineapple and juice and mix it with yogurt or rice or oats, add some banana (mashed) and let it set overnight in the fridge and you should have a lovely sweet to go with your coffee. Please forgive me, but I'm over 60, and once a mom, always a mom....best wishes always.
We will 100% try those next time we have access to a kitchen. The pineapple chicken stir fry sounds delicious! And funnily enough, that is the same salad dress we make most of them time 😅 Thank you for the recipes 😊
Hello! Question about the 3 hour bus ride, is there a restroom in the bus? Also, Is local transportation easy when you're in Suncheon? Are there taxis in town? Thank you for this video.
Korea long distance site KTX have western credit card to can buy just sometime not work less than 1% card i curious search it and Korail have English site
They have an English site but American credit cards do not work. Only cards with Verified by Visa work, and very few American credit cards have that feature.
@@OnePackWanderers Aha depend card use that happen I think America not that many use that card that happen if visa credit card use country not that issue. but site said master card also work

Fu.... I don't know why youtube is keep on erasing my comment but I can assume cause I mentioned other map platform??? Anyway, lookupHowtouseKakaoMap at youtube for the info u want.
Kakao Maps and Naver Maps are great apps to have in Korea for planning a route (including a public transport-based itinerary). Korea has a card called 'T Money' that you can reload with cash at convenience stores and train/metro stations. It's great for paying for public transport. The one somewhat tricky thing, in Korea, is paying for long-distance bus and train tickets. Korean cybersecurity practices prevent almost all Western credit/debit cards from being able to make online payments. So you have to pay at the bus/train station. If you're traveling on a weekend it's a good idea to go a day or two ahead of time and buy your tickets.
SunCheon and nearby Yeo Soo is especially good place for Korean foods. Unfortunately however, you are not adjusted for korean foods.... Eating burger ???
@@OnePackWanderers Southern part of Korea is the safest region, there's some Japanese rightwing people are spreading these hate messages against the JeollaNamdo , bc JeollaNamdo was the birthplace of Korean democracy and fought against Japanese invasion. famousGeneral Yi Sunsin "1597-Yi Sun-sin, who guarded the coast of Jeolla-do, won the naval battle against the Japanese by training the troops in advance and preparing the front lines in preparation for the invasion of the Japanese.
