I understand, I am often brought to tears. 💔 Abdou at Feeding Street Cats has taken in some badly injured kitties, usually with excellent results, and I can hardly stand to see the before pictures. But he's given so many cats at a healthy life, so I watch every video to maximize what they get from RU-vid. Sometimes it gets silly - a whole column of "this boring comment is for the algorithm" and "this one too." It shows how many people care deeply about street cars. 💙💙💙

Well, thanks to you guys, I'm trying to get 80-90 abandoned cats neutered and spayed. They keep getting dumped---or thrown----at their farm in the country.

It kills me how expensive EVERYTHING is these days and how animals are feeling the hurt too, shelters are overflowing as people have to give up their pets to survive or just abandon them, and less people are able to afford to adopt pets which can be pricey on its own let alone the fact that proper care for the animal can then cost a lot too even outside things like emergency vet visits. I have two cats but I think unfortunately they're going to have to be my last pets once they pass. We used to have a dog, she passed, and we haven't been in the position to adopt another in good conscious, and it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon. I wish I could give a home to all the animals who need one
I am glad that you understand the problems and reasons why people are giving up and abandoning pets. A lot of people are very judgemental. That’s what I also love about Flatbush. They have compassion and understanding and try not to judge people’s decisions because they know things are tough for many people now.

I feel them. I just had to spend $3,800 for an emergency vet visit for one of my cats. only to find out he has asthma... a regular vet visit would have found that issue before it cost me four grand... i now have pet insurance for both my cats, trupanion, $90 (US) a month. wish I could add them to my work insurance as dependents...

Thank you for continuing to make videos. Every time I see one I remember why I donate monthly with what little I can. These babies deserve the chance you give them for a happy life and a healthy home. Even the ones that are trap spay/neuter/release are worth every moment of time and love - so thanks y’all. Money well spent and I hope lots of others donate too. A little bit from a lot of people adds up to going a long way.
This may already be something on your radar, but I definitely recommend looking into doing a EDDM or similar mailing to the area to make people aware of the clinic (not everyone may use RU-vid, not everyone may use local news, but everyone gets mail. Of course, direct mailings aren't cheap, but I would imagine you all would qualify for non-profit rates at the post office, meaning you'd only be spending around $0.17 per piece for the postage itself. Maybe you already know all of this...but, even a small postcard could be enough to reach one new person who needs it.
