We Miss Rengoku 😭 | Demon Slayer Reaction S2 Mugen Train Ep 1 

I find it really bittersweet that Rengoku's father saved the family that would end up providing his son's last meal :')

Here are some Rengoku Fun Facts: Kyojuro loved to watch sumo wrestling. Kyojuro's favorite food was sweet potatoes. When eating them, he said "tasty/delicious" (旨うまい umai) each time he puts one in his mouth. His favorite side dish was salt grilled bream. Kyojuro was never allowed to have a pet because his father hated animals. Kyojuro's very distant ancestor, as stated by Kyojuro, ate a lot of tempuras causing their descendants' and their own hair to become quite abnormal. The Rengoku family has long since had a practice called "Kankagari" (觀かん篝かがり kankagari). For the duration of their pregnancies/gestation period, every seven days the wives will spend two hours gazing at a large flaming torch. This seems to be what causes the men in the family to have flame colored hair. Kyojuro viewed the other Hashira as follows. "She developed the poison! Amazing! She fights on despite her disadvantageous physique! She deserves my respect!" - Insect Hashira "He's even more talented than I am when I was around his age! You're young, keep up the remarkable work!" - Mist Hashira "His senses are sharp! If it's just his shoulder, elbow, and the joints in his wrist, then they're more flexible than Kanroji's!" - Serpent Hashira "He's blessed with a huge physique!, I'm envious! Swinging those gigantic weapons so lightly is amazing! Fantastic muscular build!" - Stone Hashira "His voice is so small! It's difficult to hear what he has to say! He's a hard worker!" - Water Hashira "The trajectory of his swordsmanship is beautiful! I saw a shinobi for the first time ever! I'm deeply moved! He slightly has too many wives!" - Sound Hashira "She utilizes her talent! The creativeness of her techniques is terrific as well! She's a cute junior!" - Love Hashira "The man who pushed the Wind Breathing's techniques up to the next level! How admirable!" - Wind Hashira Kyojuro's level of openness was ranked as 95%. It was revealed in a Taisho Secret in Episode 28 that Rengoku doesn't have a Tsuguko because of how hard his training is and they end up running away. Kyojuro is one of only 4 Hashira that use a normal Nichirin Katana. The other 3 are Giyu Tomioka, Muichiro Tokito, and Sanemi Shinazugawa. In Kimetsu Academy, Kyojuro is a history teacher. Because of his passion of teaching and his love of history, he began hurling his students and starting cavalry battles during class. He's loved by his students, and nobody in this academy has terrible grades in history.

As a veteran, I'm often of the mindset of "Hey! Just rub some dirt in it and walk it off!" But honestly, losing Rengoku was like losing a fellow soldier. How could it hurt so much in a world that someone literally just imagined? Yes, I give massive credit to the animation team, but I simply can't overlook how moving the story is. Fantastic job, with a single movie, that broke the all-time world record for an animated movie.

Such a bittersweet episode. 😭 What really warms my heart is the thought that the last meal he ate was a gift that came from two people who’s lives he saved.

I think the way you guys watched it was fine, I mean we had to wait like SOOO LONG for the movie, and then S2 Ep1 came out after, so you're basically watching it in the order we did, and I think the intent by the production company was for it to be seen that way. So Ep 2 - 7 is basically exactly the same as the Mugen Train movie, just broken down into episodes - are you guys watching that too? Or are you skipping to S2 Ep 8 after this one? Personally I would go straight to Ep 8, but either way, itll be fun. Also, that's not the new intro haha, youll see it in the later eps!

Just so u guys know the next 6 episodes are just the mugen train movie so you can probably just skip those and move on to the entertainment district arc 1st episode

Here’s the thing, the manga separated these events into several smaller chapters per volume to keep the pacing consistent. To end Ron’s confusion, arcs are meant be a stand-in for smaller storylines, all of which connecting to Tanjiro’s main journey. You could just think of it as the “Mugen Train” storyline or the “Entertainment District” storyline, same basic principle.

“Arcs” of a manga (or anime) are like “sagas” or “chapters” of the series, though sometimes a manga or anime will call individual publications or episodes “chapters.” So loosely speaking, it’s a portion of the series that is its own self-contained story, which may span over multiple episodes or publications. So this is the Mugen Train Arc. Sometimes the arcs aren’t officially defined by the creators, and are instead defined by the audience (such as with My Hero Academia).

Everytime you did some criminal activities and got caught by the authorities, they would engrave one line circled around your forearms first, then if they did crime again the line will be added more, so everyone would know he or she already did how many crimes in their lives. When Akaza and this Ripper Demon became Demons, the tattoo engraved and spread further onto all of their bodies. 23:02 Rengoku-san was exactly 20 years old, one year below Giyuu-san, Sanemi & Obanai and three years below Tengen-sama.

I gotta say, this next chapter of demon slayer is pure HYPE. When you think an episode can't get any better, the next episode somehow tops that, it's crazy!

The word arc is derived from arch, imeaning curve. In a progressing story, there is a build-up, a peak and eventually in the conclusion where everything comes down again. So an arc means a complete part of a story with a build-up and conclusion. You can also have arcs within arcs.

I love how much ginger is appreciating anime. This is what it all about people. Because sometimes the anime community can be a toxic for whatever petty reason. And rice me watching you go 🥺 made me go 🥺! I miss Rengoku!

oh boy, when you guys have finally reached entertainment district arc with uzui (the sound hashira), it gets even better than season 1 and mugen train. demon slayer really defy all of the expectations with how better it gets with each of the new episode. entertainment district arc is probably the most hyped anime show and you guys will definitely be on the edge of your seat the entire series.

Someone probably answered this, but an arc is like a collection of stories within a story. You have the overall story of Demon Slayers and then contained within it are smaller sections of multiple episodes, like the mugen train episodes, or the entertainment district episodes. Those are considered "arcs," or self contained stories within the overall story of the show. Love your guys' stuff, btw.

I wonder, will you guys do a mini reaction to the intro and outro of the mugen train arc? They also have Taisho Era Secrets at the end of each episode of you wanna skip to the end of each episode. Honestly, watching the movie before this episode was a good call. Sure, this episode would be fine to watch first since you don’t get spoilers for the movie really, but at the same time, it doesn’t add much to the viewing experience of the movie to watch this first, and in some ways detracts from the initial impact of some of the jokes in the movie. We also don’t know Rengoku much if this episode is what we watch first, and our attachment to him is what makes this episode great in the first place, so without the context of the movie, I feel it would be middling narratively since it so heavily relies on a character that we don’t have any solid connection to pre-movie. So in other words, movie before the episode I believe was the best call you could make

I think you did right by watching this episode after the movie, this way you could appreciate more. Season 2 is awesome, you'll love it. Greetings from Brazil.

The sheer awe in Ron's face during rengokus scenes during the movie was so contagious

The ending credits was very bittersweet because it was sweet to know what the other hashiras think of him but bitter cause we know what happens.. The fact that Sanemi(White haired angry dude) and Obanai(Snake Dude) even likes him shows how great of a person Rengoku is :'(

so a story arc is like a portion of the story that isn’t completed immediately, where the characters have a goal and accomplish it before moving on to the next plot point. an arc usually take an upward of 3 episodes. so the mugen train arc is about a powerful demon on a train, and the next one, the entertainment district arc, is about them being in the entertainment district.

i know that a lot of people want you to skip the next few episodes, but they've added some small details here and there. It's only a few scenes though. even if you guys dont watch record it, you could watch it in your own time. ^^

I just now realized: our first impression of Rengoku-san was him devouring those bento boxes and sincerely complimenting them in a rather socially awkward manner. That was his last meal.

In a normal world : The controller : "Eh! You, with red/yellow hair, cape and a sword in the belt..." Rengoku : "As you can see, I'm a lunch box seller. I'm not a suspicious person." The controller : "... ... Ticket, please" Rengoku : "Oh oh..."

I remember reading under another video forever ago that Rengoku screams "delicious!" after every bite is because he's savoring every bite because warriors never know when their last meal will be. Omg I hope you guys will end up watching Jujutsu Kaisen too. I think y'all will really enjoy it!

Lil info here, Rengoku says UMAI every single bite right, that’s because back in the day in Japan the samurai would appreciate every meal just like Rengoku, because they never knew if it was their last meal, so they just appreciated all of them.

You wouldn't have had these scenes hit like they did if you saw them first. Seeing the movie first as intended led to the feel of 🥺 when the lunchbox sellers wished him well and to see him again...us knowing, they will never see him again. 😭😭😭😭 Sort of a double edged sword however, because the pain of his loss lingers with the episode. I think it was so well done that i don't know if I'd be able to appreciate the episode for what it was able to do if i watched it first. The actions in the episode meant more because we knew they were his last... i think we savored them because of it. Also, Rengoku went into that fight with the upper 3 while sleep deprived right? He was up all night this episode then got in the train. Only down time was during the sleep spell right? Makes me wonder if the out come may have been a tad different if he wasn't denied rest. Could he have mustered enough strength to finish the beheading, been a bit faster to avoid the fist through the gut.... 🤔 idk...

It was really interesting when they announced this episode as an exclusive thing, it was really entertaining. Then i just skipped to episode 8 to start the next arc =3 As a manga reader i must say, this anime is raising the bar a lot, in this series things just get better and better and the anime does better and better every season

Arc comes from Arch. It's like the curve but in a story. From one side it builds up into a curve and reaches its peak. Then you start paying off every thing you set up during that build until you reach the end.

Again you don’t have to color anything but you should watch it just so you have that same background of “this is an Awesome intro”

I know you guys skip straight to episode 8 for Entertainment District Arc but I think you should check out for the tv series of Mugen Train. I mean watch it for yourself, you don't have to make a video about it. New OP and ED, taisho secrets and some minor changes compare to the movie will be a waste to skip. There is a youtuber "Registry" made a comparation in 22 min video you can also check it out instead of rewatching the whole movie. I just don't want you guys to miss anything and enjoy the show as much as you could :D

MAN THEY ARE SO YOUNG🥲🥲 But they have to fight with their whole soul for people sake -The stone Hashira (blind dude) is 27 so he is the strongest and oldest of the hashira -Tengen the flamboyant man is 23 -Giyu, Sanemi (scar boy) and Obanai (Serpent dude) are 21 -Rengoku died at 20 🤧 -Mitsuri the pink hair girl is 19 -Shinobu is 18 yet she working so hard -Muichiro (the long black hair one)is just 14 i swear-💀 Their master Ubuyashiki is 21 and he manages to have twins.😶 They are fictional characters yet i couldn’t help myself to not feel how deep my respect is for them, i can just sitting being in awe about how mature and brave they are to handle those situations . When i’m thinking about young people used to be during old time…🤧 and there’s me who still watching cartoons in unicorn onesie. Ancestors were so strong😔

I would say the mugen train arc is season 1.5 and the entrainment district arc is truly season 2
