We travel to Msia all the time, just spend our Winter season holiday their. Love KL, already miss it after 4 days being back in the Netherlands. I want to live in Msia Insha Allah our time will come. Everything under 2 thousand pounds per month in the centre of KL with all the best amenities and facilities the city has to offer, that’s a steal. Was just talking to a friend who is currently living in London, rent alone is a little over 4 thousand pounds a month and her apartment is probably 1/3 of yours now. ☺️

KL is definitely right up there with one of the best cities in the world! We considered so many places but we just haven’t found something as special and with as many of our ‘wants’ as KL. Of course it differs from person to person but for us, KL is a fantastic all rounder! Wow, that place is amazing. Crazy thing is the rent is 1/3 of what I pay here in Los Angeles, and I don't even get half of those amenities. My wife is Filipino, and we had decided to retire in the Philippines, but lately I have been trying to convince her to think about retiring in KL instead. We still have about 15-18 years before that time comes, so anything is possible lol. We are both big foodies and love the India, Chinese and Malay influences on food in Malaysia. Aww thank you! Yes the rent is such good value for money and the amenities are a dream! We've been to the Philippines too and although it's a beautiful country (still really want to check out Palawan!), we knew we would struggle to live there. Malaysia really does tick all the boxes for us, English is widely spoken, the malls and infrastructure are fantastic and KL airport is a great airport. 1:19 is not Redang Island. It looks like Pangkor Island in the state of Perak in the west peninsula. Redang is much prettier than that. Trust me since I’m from the state of Terengganu in the eastern peninsula, where Redang, Perhentians, Tenggol, Kapas, Gemia, Lang Tengah, and Bidong islands are located 😊

We have found the UAE to become very money driven with the cost of living becoming extortionate, even for the many who’ve lived there for years and have grown with the economy. You absolutely should! Malaysia is amazing. And yes there's so much in the way of excellent accommodation throughout the city. One really is spoiled for choice. As far as job opportunities go, it's something we haven't really looked into. Compared to the UK, wages are significantly lower so the ideal scenario in my opinion is to work remotely. Malaysia is an all-rounder country.. not perfect but compared to other South East Asian countries.. it is the best country to live.. pretty low-cost living, good facilities and infrastructure, amazing food, easy to find halal food for Muslim people, of course, nature is one of the best in Malaysia

We really hope you’ll enjoy it if this is your first time as the beautiful city has so much to offer 😃 It really depends on if you’re going to be spending much time indoor or outdoor. If you’re outdoor, we usually just have him in a romper with no bodysuit as it is quite hot and humid and we use a light muslin to cover his arms and legs over with in the pram. He’s still in the car seat in the pram and both have a full cover so they close over one another so we actually don’t use a mosquito repellent but you can get repellent for babies very easily. For indoor, we usually have him in a long sleeved bodysuit and some leggings or a romper and a thicker blanket covering him. We’ve not been out too much at night with him as yet so would recommend picking up a mosquito repellent for your little one if you’re planning on being out in the evening 😊 No need to double up layers here as even though the malls have AC, it’s not very cold. We are currently living in Ampang which is very close to KLCC. Great location as it’s a little quieter than the city but still within walking distance or in the car about 6 minutes away from KLCC. There are fantastic facilities really close by and so much to do around the area itself. Stay tuned for more this week! 😃

As a local, I go to all these places, shop in the malls or little shops, eat at mamak stalls or street stalls, walk the lanes and roads but its home, missing the greenery and grandeur others like you potray and perceive Malaysia. Don't overlook the new foreign remittance tax you owe at tax time each year. That's about 30% tax on the total amount of funds you sent into My (or spent abroad) that you must declare and file in your My tax return since last year (you can claim a tax credit for foreign income tax paid on those funds). Non-compliance is a serious offense that triggers penalties and possible deportation as several tax-resident foreigners have now learned.
Malaysia is like Durian, you either love it or you hate it. I've lived in Malaysia for 6 years since 2016. I loved it for 4 years until covid came and Malaysia showed its true self to us, expats, that we are never welcome, we are always a 4th category doesn't matter what religion we have, and that with many other reasons made me move to Indonesia which I'm in love with now. I hope you'll enjoy your journey there and don't take anything for granted.
