We NEED a Crash Team Racing Sequel 

Imagine they kept this game going till now.. It would be incredible. CTR feels like it had more places to go and was cut off to soon.

This is one of the few games that I was with since it's release, till it's "death". I really miss how hype we were for every single one of the grand prixes. I just wish they fixed the online mode before they left it to die. This could've been as big as Mario Kart

Content we need in a CTR sequel: The Xfinity Flash kart and Cove Cruiser kart, a track with Japanese/Chinese theme, track creator where you can create your own racing tracks, new guest characters(KAO the Kangaroo, TY the Tasmanian Tiger, SLY Cooper, Rayman, Croc, Yokaa from Yokaa-Laylee, Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank, Sonic The Hedgehog, Jak from Jak & Daxter, online events, online cup races, New game modes, Art Gallery and theatre mode with all cutscenes

Man, I miss the excitement we used to get whenever a new grand prix was announced. I enjoyed all of your videos with speculations and updates about them . I feel very nostalgic thinking about it. I'm still desperately dying and begging for CTR spiritual successor/sequel in every way shape or form! And I more or less will probably never shut myself up about it, until it happens for real in the future. I want to see this possible future CTR 2 mainly be created & developed by Toys for Bob and Beenox completely done in the Crash Bandicoot 4 art style (along with support from almost all Activision Blizzard teams to help out with everything by giving everything beyond the max be completely polished as tightly as possible during development) and be able to not only by some miracle include stuff like CNK's Adventure/Story mode fully recreated in almost every aspect and way, Quantum Races, Mario Kart Double Dash style racing mode/option and EACH AND EVERY SINGLE THING OUT OF EVERYTHING OUT OF BEYOND THE MAX that we truly wish/hope/desire for beyond belief x infinity!!! (Which BTW, we can all show and/or tell the teams about, and maybe even make a big, huge, gigantic and enormously extensive list of everything out of everything beyond belief in great detail) But I guess that's probably only me for now, but let me know what you all think of what I think and everything.

I was disappointed we never got the CNK adventure mode in the game. We have all the tracks but I don’t see why we couldn’t get the story mode added.

This game came out 2 months after I graduated from university and aside from being an incredible experience the grand prix helped me managed the stress and frustration after job interviews I F*cking love this game

I want a CTR Nitro Fueled 2 so bad! I’ve waited ever since it first came out in 2019! All missing characters from the first can be added as well as more Spyro Grand Prixs along with a Skylanders Grand Prix and so much more! Everything missing from CTR Nitro Fueled 1 should be added to CTR Nitro Fueled 2!

I wouldn’t mind seeing a new CTR game in the future. When CTR Nitro-Fueled was first released, it was a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original CTR. Beenox add more stuff to CTR like returning characters from previous games and new characters we haven’t seen before. The online mode had technical issues when it first launched, but in the following days, Beenox fixed certain issues in online mode. I do think people still play CTR nowadays because they wanted to try a Crash Bandicoot racing game as an alternative game to Mario Kart. Back then, CTR added more modes than Mario Kart 64. In Mario Kart 64, you would had to race against CPU opponents in cup mode. CTR has more than just cup mode. You could race against CPU opponents in single race mode something that Mario Kart 64 doesn’t have and it has adventure mode where there is a lot of replay ability in terms of collecting everything in adventure mode. CTR Nitro-Fueled was a great way to reintroduce us the Crash fans to what made CTR special in the first place. After the acquisition goes through, I really hope that the online multiplayer of CTR will have dedicated servers and also be able to work on fixing bugs while making the online mode more fun than ever.

Create a character, create a track also new characters put in definetly needs a sequel.

I'm just patiently waiting for the Microsoft acquisition to go through to see what happens. Crash 4 and Nitro-Fuelled should both be going to Game Pass and with any luck Crash 4 on PC Game Pass, but hopefully they'll take the opportunity to finally port Nitro-Fuelled to PC too. Imagine that game running at 4K 60fps or potentially even higher... I can dream. Now imagine if they implement cross-play on top of it going to Game Pass. The game would have a healthy little player base online, at least for a little while. Until then we'll just have to wait and see what the heck Wumpa League actually turns out to be.

The problem with the sequel is the gameplay in this game is absolutely perfect so they shouldnt change it all but they would most likely change it because its a new game and i doubt it would be as good, if they dont change anything then it would be better if it was a dlc but the comes the problem of ALL designs of characters will most likely be changed bc of the crash 4 designs which will cause trouble with a lot of og fans so i dont see how this would work but you never know, i just honestly want another crash game that isnt a party game

Awesome video, Lewis! I still can't believe it has been three years since CTR: NF's release. I still vividly remember picking this game up and being numb with excitement! I love CTR, but I think had the online modes been a bit more polished, I probably would have stuck around for longer. I played this one non-stop until around the Nina Nightmare update. For me, it was the poor online experience and not as much the lack of content that eventually drove me away. I mean, I still play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online as I've never really had any huge problems with getting into an online game or even the online performance during a race.

I just had a ctr relapse and am currently going through the dev times again, as well as rewatching ur dev trial vids. And I definitely still have an itch for more of this kind of ctr. This is def top 3 games for me and it isn't #3.

I miss waiting around for the Grand Prix to drop and then when it did all the videos from you and Viperian and Mister Bo and other RU-vidrs exploring the new content. I also miss just getting leaks and news coming out about the upcoming Grand Prix.

What stopped me from continuing to play this game was: that there was no cup feature, so this resulted in the game lobbies being longer than the race itself. Once I got all the trophies, I stopped. Definitely was a great experience though!

Since there’s nothing big happening with Crash lately I’d love to see Lewis go back to the N Sane Trilogy and get all platinum relics. I remember him saying he would eventually return to it but that’s been almost 2 years. Crash Team Racing came out on 1999, CTR: Nitro fueled on 2019 Crash Nitro Kart came out on 2003, maaaaaaaybe a CNK: Nitro fueled on 2023? that would be awesome.

They don't know what to do with Crash I mean they did the remakes of the classics because it was gonna be an 100% guaranteed success, nothing else. They tried with a new Crash game after the huge success but Crash 4 is not even close to the sales the Trilogy had so I very doubt they are planning anything soon.

Gotta be honest I was really doubtful about the new Beenox tracks when I first heard about the grand prix... I mean, all the game was about is reliving the nostalgy, so how would they compare to all those memories we had? Fortunately though, they more than made up for the CTR standards, especially with Drive-Thru danger, Gingerbread Joyride and Megamix Mania. I think an entire game with new and unique track could work perfectly! Especially nowadays where there are significantly less cartracers than back in the time, and Crash is one of the most well-known second to Mario Kart.

Hi Lewis I got into your channel because of CTR Dev Ghosts and stayed years after, watching almost every video just because I liked that ones so much and your funny reactions. I agree with every point, yes, we need a new crash game. So many good memories and I'm glad I can relive them with your videos. Can't wait to finally play it on ps5, again. Thanks for the experience and I hope we get another type of excitement again just with new tracks and gametype. Maybe the lack of CNK story was because they were planning on including that story in CTR:2? Like the aftermath of CNK where all the tracks are broken or something?

My hopes for a ctr sequel would be: -Better hitboxes, maybe better engine (unreal, like crash 4) -crash 4 has controls more similar to the original trilogy than nst, and if the ctr sequel had the same "more similar controls to the original", i think it would be nice -even though i like the redesigns of the tracks in nf, the anti gravity is a nice idea to bring back, it just need to have good controls (people would say it's a copy of mario kart 8, even though cnk released before) -shnurgle as a playable character -creative tracks like the levels of crash 4 -monthly new content like the GPs -all modes that ctr naturally has + some new ideas and modes -a lot of new tracks -maybe something like the flashback tapes, using the classic ost in some kind of "old" challenge (using pre console musics) -and i think the artstyle of crash 4 would fit the style of ctr too, but this is not something i would get angry if they didn't do

Yeah I totally agree! Maybe there could be an Adventure Mode for the original tracks, along with ones for CNK as well as one for completely new tracks (maybe a bit much but would keep us Crash fans busy). There could be extra online modes such as a mode where you race but weapons are disabled. A ranking system would also be welcome, meaning you mostly play against people of your skill level, keeping everything fair, while giving something for the player to grind and work for. Also new characters and tracks could be added every 2 to 3 months, meaning the updates are frequent enough that people don't begin to lose interest, but far enough apart that we get a long enough chance to experience the update and the updates don't stop after just one year. Holy crap this took a long time to type out!

Damn bro I started seeing your Dev time series as they released right after I finished mine during the Grand Prix era with the Krunk Gang n I gained immense respect for you during it and always watch your videos even after the end of that era. That was just different back then trying to stay front page championship board or top 100. Best experience in online video games to ever exist.

Very true, the game used to be fun and joyful back in June 2019 - March 2020 because of the grand prix, new updates, the developers listening to us and the online. The game is so nostalgic, I miss the old times… :(

Your rusty is still better than me at my best. I never figured out how to do those sharp turns in the air. I was used to playing analog and couldn't switch to the buttons.

A project to keep an eye on is The Karters 2: Turbo Charged. Might do well, might flop but seems like it has a lot of potential. But yeah we need a sequel to CTR:NF. Especially if it could start rivaling Mario Kart in track count. Also putting it on PC, with mod support would make CTR:NF crazy.

Mate you beat the dev times and all, But still dont know how to drop boost? Lewis there are 3 ways to maintain reserves 1. Drift boosting 2. Hang time 3. Drop boosting.

If Activision were smart this is what they would do. Clearly Crash Team Rumble was a cash grab, turning Crash 4's multiplayer into it's own game so it's clear they don't want to put in the effort anymore. Announce an enhanced port of Nitro Fueled for PC, and Next Gen consoles with the ability to transfer your saves. Free Upgrade if you already own the game on PS4/Xbox, with the game being 60fps on these platforms. Fix the online, and add online features such as Cup Races, and the ability to create your own cups by mixing and matching the games tracks. Have Crossplay between these enhanced versions, finally announce the return of the Grand Prix's and have them in a battle pass system if they want to stick with that bullshit from Rumble. Instead of them only lasting a month like the previous Grand Prix's, space them out by 3 months or so and include 5 new tracks and a few new characters/skins each Grand Prix. You're done, CTR will be back in a position where it's alive and can viably compete with Mario Karts Booster pass, and Activision get their revenue without having to make an entirely new racing game. The blueprint is right there, just continue where you left off with NF.

All time favorite game, grinding every season for trophies was priceless. Once I got into the top 500 every game felt like an mlg match and I loved it. Only complaint was that we couldn’t do cups online.

A CTR sequel would be nice. I was so excited when they first announced the remake. The game is beautiful I love how they did it. I gotta say my skills in the OG CTR were good but, after I stopped playing it for years I got rusty. I picked it up and beat it on hard years ago, and then left it alone. Fast forward years later when Nitro fueled was released. I saw a big change in my skill level as I beat the story and the first time that I seriously decided going for beating N.Tropy's Times. Then I challenged Oxide, I struggled with him and beat him too. Recently, I beat Velo's time trials. My top 3 tracks that I struggled with to beat Velo once and for all were: 1.Hot Air Skyway(Kept messing up the shortcut at the end. It just kept making nervous and overthinking it. 2. Out Of Time ( My Blueflame kept dying at unexpected moments.) 3. Cortex Castle (When I went too fast the spiders just kept getting in my way. Anyway, I really got into the time trials from checking out your videos. My skill improved dramatically and I beat 2 developers. One on Jungle Boogie and the other on Inferno Island. I'm currently busy with work and I just bought my first car. But someday I wanna just get the master wheels to show myself how far I've come. Sure beating two dev times isn't much to brag about. But it shows I have what it takes to beat them. The only thing anyone has to do is just believe in their self. It sounds cheesy to some, but it's the truth. If you're strong that will be at your core. Or rather think of it like a flame that can NEVER be extinguished by anyone but ones self, if and only if they stop believing in themselves.

btw you did better than i did rusty, when i got on afew days ago i barely beat the CPU on easy because i forgot the groove but after 1 cup i was acceptable again.

Yeah I dont know I was hyped for the first couple of grand prixs but the online issues were always such a downer and since they never fixed it I got frustrated pretty fast. At one point not even the grand prixs could bring me back to the game so I just stopped playing. But I'm glad I played it day one, especially the hype for the first grand prix was cool

I also wouldn't mind a ctr PC port with all the content and a less grindy Pitshop that isn't linked to the internet and all the classic content locked to ps4 (obviously not the playstation logo and stage but just the karts and skins) and the weird Xfinity Kart you can't get anymore just to make the truly definitive version of this game

You know Crash Team Racing appeared on an episode of Friends? It wasn't really part of the scene, or mentioned by name. I think either Chandler or Joey was playing it, then he dropped the controller to argue with someone. I wonder if one of the scene technicians, even producers or cast was hooked on it at the time? Or if they just grabbed the nearest PS1 + game to use as a prop for that scene.

Funny WumpaLewis does this right when I'm about to finally get the game for PS4. I've only been playing on the Switch for the past few years.

Hopefully Xbox will make a sequel after they buy Activision. The only kart racer to rival Mario Kart imo (and in a lot of ways even better). Would love to see characters like Banjo or Raz from Psychonauts for DLC or their own Grand Prix. A ton of potential if they realize it. At the very least CTR will be on Game Pass so hopefully that creates a bigger player base for online.

I wouldn't mind a CTR sequel they could use tracks from tag team racing or from those mobile games and just come up with a story

The problem isn't the lack of a sequel, but the lack of support. Rocket League has been out for 7 years, yet the devs support it with new modes every once in a while, news seasons every few months. If they make a new game and support it only for a year or two, it'll die.

If we do a sequel I'm hoping we get anti-gravity in there because they butchered the CNK tracks that have those special features and it feels fun to around on it..just because Mario have a game with that feature doesn't mean that Crash can have it as well because any game franchise have a right to it and I was really disappointed that Hyper Spaceway in CTR feel like half a track

Played the original to death as a kid. Bought Nitro Fueled on xbox when it first came out but didn't really get into it until I bought it on Switch a couple of months ago. Mid-way through the Velo trials now.

Only got this game a few days ago. The originals were literally the first video games I ever played. I literally didn’t even know this was a thing until 5 minutes before I bought it. Playing it again was surreal, was just disappointed when I beat oxide and realized that was it. Was hoping I could’ve played through the second game, atleast all the characters and maps are there though!

i got it two month ago for switch and ohhhhhhhhhh mannnn it is soooooo good o.O but as you say ... the time back when they got all the updates and events it must be a wonderful time !

Even if now they just decided to update ctrnf and sell seasonal grand prix and add the online a proper support for competitive play in game, like leaderboarda, ranks, rewards according the rank you are, etc, the game will bring to life. The competitive community is still alive on discords servers playing on a daily basis ranked lobbies

They need to remake crash tag team racing where you could fuse cars during the race and add all sorts of additional characters, carts and have the free roam feature again where you run around and all that

I feel like engine swapping wasn't a thing to begin with because they wanted to get all of original CTR in first before daring to making changes which makes sense when creating a remake. edit: Nitro Fueled Nitro Kart

Man I bought this a couple years ago and beat story mode but that’s all I did, for the last month I’ve been doing time trials and man I thought velo and devs times were impossible but I’m going through now beating velos times!!! I’ve gotten significantly better at holding fire lol shit is addicting trying to get faster

I didn't play this but I have played other games that received constant updates and those time periods were so fun. I'm looking forward to the next game I enjoy like that 😃

An adventure mode that makes great use of all the track. Better online servers. More online modes like itemless lobbies, gem cups, mirrored mode and blue flame mode and so on. Better pacing of the Grand Prix. Better variety of challenges to make each Grand Prix unique and refreshing.

I think there is several compelling reasons for a sequel. I mean, this RU-vid video itself already has 10k views after only 3 days. CTR has already been out for 3 years, so clearly the fandom is still active and has interest. Also, during the first Grand Prix month, there was over 1 million Playstation users, 300,000 Xbox users, and 200,000 Switch users, and that was just counting the online players! The fact that this Crash Bandicoot game sold that well when it's not even part of the main series is a testament to the strength of the quality and the brand recognition of Crash Bandicoot. We need to get a sequel!

i got a collection pack of the 4 main games and ctr around christmas last year. they were included in a deal and i thought of getting them because of this channel.
