Olfactory hallucinations (smelling something that isn't really there) CAN be a sign of a stroke, but it's not a particularly common one.

The part about white cloaks really encapsulates a big part of the song's message. He knows that his comedy can theoretically do good in some aspects of the world's problems, but when it comes down to it, he feels helpless to help prevent tragedy, and he feels like it's self-important and tone deaf to try to use comedy to help. Of course you would run! He knows that, of course. He's just not sure how to help without coming across as another white savior, and without sacrificing more than he is willing to spare.

Yeah they say if you smell burnt toast but you’re not near burnt toast, that you’re possibly having a stroke. No clue why you smell that.

Before that they were all British/European. An accurate phrase would be: “Some of them have sort of had the floor for over 200 years” I get that it’s comedy, so I’m probably over analyzing it 😂
