I highly disagree regarding Sampo. As a DoT lover myself, I use Hume pretty often. He is incredibly good with Black Swan. Her stacks are considered Wind Shear as well. And Sampo can retrigger any wind shear several times. And the retrigger doesn't depend on his attack, but a % of the original damage. Hence, you can have him very fast with energy recharge to constantly apply a lot of wind shear. I use him with BS in wind weak team JQ will be basically a 5* Guinaifen. But, unfortunately, not dot without eidolons
I would say Sampo isn’t the best on his own but he slaps when I put him with my black swan. That additional 30% increase to all dot dmg is often overlooked I feel. I would also say that he’s a good breaker, he shreds enemy toughness faster than any wind character. He also is the best counter to that chef dinosaur. He’s the only character (aside from applying dots to the dinosaur) that can reach that 6 hit mark with just a skill if they all hit the dinosaur. Idk too many positives that people don’t see. Yeah Black Swan does better in the dmg department but Sampo has a lot of utility. 😂
Wouldn’t you still want to raise Sanpo even if you have Black Swan because there is a second half of Pure Fiction not just one. And the DOT roster is limited as it is, not many DOt to choose from. He’s literally my only DOT character.
@@kooweijing9061 still, the debuff is kinda restricted for now. Only with e2 his debuff will consider as burn DOT. U can use Jiaoqiu with kafka but still it feels incomplete
@@mediasosialghifari4526 Jiaoqiu is not meant for Kafka/DoT though. He's meant for Acheron. He's basically Acheron's Tingyun. He's a battery, not a DOT character.

Yeah they kinda pidgeonholed them into one gamemode. I feel like they are trying to fix them a bit by Jade by giving some utility other than aoe damage but I don't know if this is enough.
@@ventrue7imo it’s just the scaling really. But even then a high scaling Aoe is basically destruction (even though destruction is more blast). Hunt is high single target little survivability, erudition is aoe focused, and destruction is even def and aoe attacking. Unless they entirely redo what erudition does they’re essentially doomed to be overshadowed by destruction. If they do redo what erudition does what unique thing will it be?
@@mariachi3217 I feel like they should give some utility to them as well maybe to Hunt debuffs to Erudition buffs that destruction should not have. So destruction should stay as the go-to reliable damage class. This can also open some some sub dps options for Hunt and Erudition to a Destruction or maybe Nihility main dps.
No no, we don't need more DOT's in general. What we really need is an Ice DOT character. They could be the pioneer of Ice DOT. Imagine how good Freeze and Ice DOT at the same time could be.
Honestly, that's just an awesome idea, I was thinking that locking DoT to only 4 elements is strange, and we still haven't gotten an actual poison effect, which could be a quantum DoT, that maybe decreases enemy effect res?
We're still waiting for dedicated Bleed and Burn five stars. One day we'll get an AoE bleed-guy, and enemy team comps will tremble in despair. I feel we also need to think about what transformative effects the inevitable Nihility Trailblazer will bring. If they transform the playstyle as much as Harmony TB has changed break effect, that's a huge buff for, effectively, free.
I do like DOT and I like the idea of it getting better, but I would like Blackswan to stay the best DOT applier (Kafka is nore of a amplifier while Blackswan is damage dot) maybe we can get a DOT character that can buff, maybe we can get one that can break fast. I just don't like the idea of Blackswan becoming obsolete.
@@goldenhotdog8293true plus if a new one is a sidegrade/doengrsde of black swan but has a function of being a DoT specific support like Sampos Ult then that’ll be huge for black swan and other dot units.
i think dot could really benefit from having a buffer who can increase the damage dealt by dots while still increasing atk and speed for all allies so basically like a ruan mei but instead of break focused kit it's a dot dmg kit and also making characters of other elements be able to apply dots like i really love quantum and wish there was a quantum dot unit also warning leak below jiaoqiu is basically a 5* pela and is acheron's best support so unfortunately no new dot unit unless he can apply burn consistently since he is a fire character

I remember that when Black swan came out everyone was complaining that she was a Dot character because they thought she would be needing Kafka now people are complaining that they need more Dot characters😂
I think people forget DOT is in other paths then Nihility. Himeko and Serval does DOT from Erudition and Hook from destruction does DOT. Being a Nihility path only matters for Archeon atm cause she gets buffed by it. I feel like DOT is in a good position besides needing a healer and jiaqui with probably fill that nicely
Since SU has this already, I would like a harmony/nihilty character who can make the DoT CRIT. But the Crit chance & Damage are from the character that gave the buffs, not the one who apply the DoT. I think that's one way to improve DoT.
I think it would be better if other paths had a way to support or become DoT characters, kind of like Serval who can actually spread DoT and extend shock or even if they're a simple DoT character like Hook that simply does more damage to enemies afflicted with a DoT.
I can see a DoT Abundance unit in the near future. The card in SU that heals on DoT tics works well. It seems like a trial run mechanic I can see them implementing.
Tbh I'm fine with no DoT in the near future. People forget that Break teams have been present since 1.0 and have been just collecting dust until Super Break tossed in. Sampo being pwoercrept by BS is also not a bad thing when the guy was a 1.0 and hadn't had a direct comparison till 2.0. Let alone FUA even with Topaz wasn't really put on the map till Ratio and even than, Aventurine & Robin weren't added till patches later. DoT as it stands probably isn't going to be touched for a minute as Hoyo cycles through teams, after all Revenge units like Clara & Blade have basically been stagnant and haven't seen much direct love till technically Jade as the last real buff was Lynx. More likely DoTs will rebound as Break Teams are dead in the water when enemies just lock out their break bar. Fox Boy being nihility and Acheron existing means he'll more likely a direct nihility unit as one nihility since launch hasn't been replaced, Pela. A lot of the current characters being powercrept are 1.0 characters and even than, often still find their niches (see Bronya on Blade, Jingliu, and other team comps as her skill to just push a character forward is still stupid). Reality is, a new DoT unit probably won't be coming for a few more patches as Acheron's team comp is complete, while DoT still has room to grow. And even FUA still leaves room for units like Jade whose more hp related.
YES THANK YOU, I'm a total Dot main. Crazy how we got Kafka rerun, then Black Swan and then Dot characters were just forgotten, not Dot harmony, no dot sustain? its crazy! Follow ups got their full grp finished and next update will be getting a limited 5 star aoe. Break teams are all done as well!
even im a huge DOT lover specially with Kafka and Black Swan. even i would want more DOT specially that i hoped for Constance to come out for being potential DOT becouse of how i thought she was going to battle black swan for using something of memories as to talk with black swan before on the story. but now she wont be comming wish i guess on some other patches on another planet maybe. but still wierd thou.
i would say that their time will come pretty soon, its just clear that they are trying to make sure that every playstyle is viable, like follow up, break, 2 dps teams etc, they are slowly but surely making sure every character can fit in a team.
People are really sleeping on Robin DoT teams, her crit buffs are wasted on DoT teans but she has the biggest attack buff in the game (it has no cap), has really consistent personal damage and her AA allows Black Swan to stack arcana faster and for Kafka to detonate more DoTs and you are usually building them pretty fast so they attack a lot and that means more concerto attacks from Robin. It is actually better than the Ruan Mei variant for 0 cycle runs as Robin has just the craziest speedrun potential in the game in general. Robin may have looked like only a buff for FuA teams but sje was also a buff for DoT as DoT teams with her have a higher damage ceiling than with previous supports at high investment builds with optimal play.
I have an interesting idea but makes Some DOT character locked Imagine adding HSR adding DoT to Ice, Imaginary and Quantum Characters. Sound crazy Right? But what if It's specific to that one character like how black swan has a new version of Wind DoT or Guinaifen with her Firekiss Maybe like this: New Ice Character: (random name) Skill: Blast Atk. Deals 130% atk to main target and 75% to adjacent targets, Has A 100% Base Chance to Apply *Icy Eclipse* To the enemy Talent: Whenever this Character Attacks, Has a Base Chance of 60% to apply *Icy Eclipse* to the enemy Icy Eclipse: Every time The Enemy takes a turn they will Be Dealt with Ice Damage Equal to 70%-110% (scales with Talent Level) of the Character's Atk. (this damage is considered DoT but CAN CRIT with a Max crit damage of 90%/95%/100%/105%/110% depending on how many stacks of Icy Eclipse there is on the Enemy. Up to 5 stacks) Or an Imaginary DoT character: *Random Name* Talent: Whenever the User Attacks The Enemy with Skill Or Ultimate have a 100% Base Chance to Apply *Disintegration* Disintegration: every time an enemy takes a turn deal Imaginary damage equal to 70%/80%/90%/100%/110% (scales with Talent Level) of attack to the enemy afflicted with This Debuff. Additionally, Delays the Enemy's Next Turn if they are afflicted with this debuff by 1% per stack to a maximum of 10 stacks. (This Debuff is considered as DoT and Cannot Crit.) And finally a Quantum DoT character: Basically the same as before but like imaginary dot that delays and ice dot that crits, quantum also has something special that makes the DoT deal 1% more damage at 1 stack and 10% more damage from ALL DoTs at full 10 stacks for each turn the Enemy takes when they are afflicted with it, I don't got anymore names so yeahhh this is basically it, and all 3 have their Attack scaling from the Talent level because only that character can have this DoT, if ever HSR somehow adds something similar to this, Then the Quantum one would be the best support to DoT ever. And the Ice one would probably deal the most DoT damage while the Imaginary one would be a great support to delay the enemies so we can apply more stacks of DoT to deal more damage when Kafka Uses Her Skill and Ult, But maybe in the future we somehow use DoT teams without kafka idk
In all honesty Nihility and DoT already got their love, its time for erudition to get some much needed help. I personally don't play DoT teams much but I've built Himeko into a Break/ Dot Hybrid and its fun. DoT got characters like Kafka, BS and Acheon now getting Jiaoqu, what does Erudition have? Argenti? Give it some time for DoT but I think they have to buff their neglected paths first😅
Cute Foxgirl, Bad Momma, Second Bad Momma, and Mad Scientist, was my main team since 2.0 when I got Second Bad Momma. And it is a great, fun, and extremely easy team. A dedicated DoT support that is better than Mad Scientist would be good, but I dropped the game with 2.3's release, and I will probably not come back for a long time. So, I will probably miss her, and with the almost non-existent reruns in this game, I will most likely never get her.
Preservation needs more help IMO. I love DOT because of black swan. However, to say we need more nihility characters is a wild take because nihility has gotten A LOT of support.
Sampo is actually quite strong in MOC and PF. Swan took his place in Kafka teams but honestly he can hold his own amazingly. Luka is good but restricted to single target (edit: and yeah pretty much a god tier 4* breaker more so than a bleed applier). Gui is quite hybrid (DOT or debuff) with firekiss. But supports are kinda low after swan sadly. I’d love an ice nihility unit that freezes and shreds def - heavy coping on that one. Would be so cool with dot.
Luka won't deal sh#t without bleed, dot character Shampo without e6 is realy bad, too bad, if i had him E6, i would have no problem running dot without ruan mei Half of the rooster IS dot, but the "free" ones needs eidolons, likely all of them Yes we do need more dot characters, but i belive they shouldn't be forced into nihility path only and what we do have is nice, but they are kinda all the same almost (guinafeng is almost the same as kafka, activating dot, except she does only to fire, like luka does to bleed, shampo is a weaker black swan) And zhuge liang 2.0 looks more like a pela/SW combo made for debuffing instead of dot, but i hope i am wrong
I disagree about Sampo. He and BS makes wonders against waves of wind-weak ennemies even without Kafka. It's like you said "Oh Yelan has powercrept Xingqiu" which it's not true cause you can play both in the same team.
Unfortunately I don’t think Jiaoqiu is going to be the missing peace for the DoT team. Unless they make the DoT synergy in his base kit, and change him to be more DoT focused it’s going to be a cherry on top for the spenders I hope they make a new sustain that does DoT specifically, and hopefully a physical bleed DoT DPS at some point
I don’t know I really think other types of gameplay should be focused on DoT was the first special type of gameplay that had a really big focus We recently finished the game favoring FuA and now we are on Break I’d so much prefer the other sort of gameplay styles getting the hand instead of going back and hyper buffing DoT as that team is already in a good place Like counter attacks and HP drain would be really cool teams to build upon
I think we need to complain about more balance in this game. I feel like a lot of DOT units are not usable in endgame combat. And I don’t feel like any any group of characters should be excluded from end game. It feels like if you got have achron, boothill or firefly you struggle..
Since I now have two outstanding teams with Acheron & Firefly, I won't complete my DoT team. Kind of sad...but it looks like I don't need it anymore. It would also be too expensive to develop a team that now often ends up on the bench. I'd rather concentrate on Acheron & Firefly.
I'm curious : did you try boothill ou firefly with kafka ? I don't have either of those so i can't try. Also ice can work work fine with dots. Try to build an ehr march with bs and kafka, it's super funny
A DoT character that can make DoTs crit. That will seal the deal for DoT teams. I don't think theres any room for improvement when it comes to DoT teams if they release a character that can crit DoT. Kafka, Blackswan, DoT Critting Character will be so broken.
I dont think Kafka is replaceable as a DoT character as well. She's truly the DoT queen. I can't think of a better way to initiate DoT than to burst them simultaneously with the DoT status on the enemies. She's a high speed, easy to build, DoT initiator that can activate DoT damage even before the enemies' turn. Honestly is there a better way to activate DoT than Kafka's Kit? On top of her kit theres the actual DoT damage at the start of enemies' turns. She's just insane.
Its not my playstyle but DoT was eating good for a while in the time of Black Swan's release, the came the Acheron team and now Super break team is on a similar position. After the end-game modes rotate their buffs to favor the other new characters, these teams stay very limited in team option until we get more characters catered to it. Returning to DoT, I think its doing quite well because the can include Acheron on their team and slap but it will mean one having three 5 stars (Kafka, Swan and Acheron).
Less on the topic of DOT, more on Luka since you mentioned him, but I really want to build Sushang as Break effect partner for him now that I accidentally pulled Boothill's lightcone (and not Boothill). I feel like the ease with which Sushang can break the enemy combined with Luka's ability (especially E6 Luka) to retrigger those bleeds could be so fun. Feels kind of pointless now that I have Fitefly, but I've felt really nostalgic for the good old Luka teams lately.
Right now my acheron is e1s0 and my team for her is e6 pela, e2 gui and adventurine with trend lc do you still think its worth getting jiaoqiu even with this team?
I think the more likely to be replaced is houhou, the atk buff is nice, the energy is meh in most cases. I would prefer to see a physical or fire sustainer that does noticeable dmg with their dot instead of buffing. As you said the SU buff would be something cool: each time a target (maybe with debuff from ult/skill) suffers DoT dmg heals all allies by X and the lowest by another Y amount (maybe have some sort of overflow healing into shield, DoT teams suffer from being oneshot from RNG a lot). Fire or physical DoT to max set effect and get more BS stacks outside of ult uptime. Either way I just hope its not a dude, already have E1 kafka, E1 BS and E2 Ruan Mei, so only one more waifu character for perfect DoT team. Team already has quite some def down with relics, black swan E and passive + Ruan Mei E1, with S1 on BS her DoTs already reach 100% def ignore, so new DoT character ideally doesnt bring extra def shred (or only little at best) and instead gives some sort of RES shred or damage taken debuff (Probably looked behind early Eidolons).
From thinking about this subject. I think Follow-up are next in Line and DOT is after Follow-up There only 2 character That are follow up characte, That all. But, For break you have got Boot Hill, Xueyi, Firefly, Gallagher. Even without considering the support, The Follow-up has only one supporter, whereas Break has two supporters: Ruin Mei and MC. Follow-up characters are prioritized next for support, not DOT Follow-up characters are next for support, not DOT . The 2.0 update happened very recently. and the Follow-up characters support can look like any of the following: Introducing another Follow-up character who serves as DPS, Sub-DPS, or Support or a Harmony that triggers Follow-ups. (DOT RIGHT NOW NEED) A DOT Character support can look like any of the following: LET DOT DO MORE DAMAGE, OR PLACE ANOTHER DOT/ OR MAYBE (BOTH). Jiaoqiu could be one of the 2 thing I Talked about. ^^ This is and add on Jiaoqiu Looks Good and but, my Problem is, they Could do better, for Right Now Jiaoqiu looks okay.
