The way I see it, the only way we can ever see Knuckles' Chaotix on HD systems is if someone (Christian Whitehead might be VERY unlikely) remakes the entire game from scratch.
Knuckles' Chaotix and 3D Blast deserve remasters so badly. Sonic 3D Blast is such a hidden gem and with proper alterations of the gameplay, Knuckles' Chaotix could become perfect. These games need more love by both Sega and Sonic fans.
For the Adventure collection, they could just make reanimate everything using the modern art style and use the voice clips from the OG adventure 1 and 2, like how the Medievil PS4 remake did it.
I totally would because I still have NEVER played Knuckles Chaotix. The only game out of those 4 that I've technically played is Sonic 3D Blast (I say technically because I've played Sonic 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles, although I've NEVER touched the Jams collection)
I agree with more ports, widescreen with the zoom of the classics would do the advance games wonders and maybe more people will realize they’re not bad games, just hindered by the tiny screen of the gameboy advance.
I hope in Sonic Advance Collection in Sonic Advance 3 allows us to press the X button (Nintendo switch controller) to swap characters like if you want to play with Tails you swap Sonic with Tails instead going back to the character select menu like Sonic Mania Plus in Encore mode
I do agree that some of Sonic's older games outside of the Genesis and Game Gear eras need to be re-released for modern consoles, namely the Saturn version of 3D Blast, SegaSonic Arcade, Knuckles' Chaotix, and Sonic Shuffle (a party game for the Dreamcast similar in concept to the Mario Party games and actually developed by Hudson Soft, the same company who helped develop the first eight in the Mario Party series. It gained notoriety in late 2020 thanks to the "The Carbuncle ate itself" meme). I'd also love for Adventure 1, Adventure 2, and Heroes to be ported to modern consoles in a compilation similar to the now-discontinued Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The Gamecube era in particular was where Sonic's 3D games really shone (this was just after Sega left the console wars in 2001).
man I’d kill for a sonic riders collection (except maybe just have the first 2 games since the only thing there could save free riders is a complete dialogue rewrite, sprucing up of all the models and textures, and different voice direction for jet and at that point it’s almost just a completely new entry in the franchise lmao) this was a really good video!

I have most Sonic Classic Collections on various consoles! Wouldn't mind seeing Sonic Riders in one big collection, but with analogue controller option for Sonic Free Riders as that is my favourite of the lot!
Fun Fact: The port of Sonic CD seen in the Sonic Gems Collection, was based on the PC version. Also, there is a PC version of Sonic 3D Blast. The PC Special Stages we're a mix between both the Genesis and Saturn versions of Sonic 3D Blast.
I still don't know why people were going crazy for Origins when, despite having 3 again, it's nothing compared to the collections we got on Gamecube/PS2 etc. And it's been long enough that the GBA/DS/PSP games and even Adventure/Heroes are considered classic. We could use a collection or two that includes those games. I really want Advance and Battle to be rereleased one day.
The reason Origins was important was because they remade the games from the ground up adding new content like Boss Rushes, the Drop Dash, and Mission Mode, alongside a campaign that links all 4 games together with multiple newly animated cutscenes. The GameCube/PS2 collections were literally just ROM dumps. It's a quality vs quantity deal.
Sonic Adventures Collection featuring SA 1 and 2 AND a completely fixed and polished 06 would sell like wild fire. The SA games are already hugely popular and people would be so curious to play 06, especially since it's widely considered SA3
The Advanced/DS games and possibly Chaotix are the only ones I see getting remastered. The Adventure games and '06 would require a lot of work to bring them close to what modern audiences would expect in a modern release of those games. The other ones you mentioned are too niche or only provide minor improvements on existing rereleases and wouldn't drum up a lot of excitement.
Nice video. I’ve been saying for years we need a sonic 06 remake. I think it’s a great game besides the glitches and loading times. It has a bad reputation mostly due to a bandwagon of people who never even played it yet bash it anyway. I think silvers gameplay was awesome the only problem is that he’s way too slow. There was actually going to be a speed upgrade for silver but it wasn’t in the game because it was unfinished.
Sonic 06 was my very first video game, it’s a banger of a game well worth this and if it was finished it has potential to be the best in the series with a rerelease
I've wanted a full on remake of 06 for a while now and while I'm fully aware of project 06 (and really wanna play it someday) giving it the N-Sane trilogy treatment of completely overhauling every model, texture and code to make it the great game it was supposed to be. Calling it Sonic 2026 is genius too by the way. I like the idea of the other collections too. Adventure remakes or BetterSADX style remasters would be awesome. And Riders 1 on Modern consoles is a dream.

Yeah, it's should be a storybook pack of the Secret Rings and the Black Knights for Nintendo Switch would be perfect for Deluxe as well as Sonic Lost World called Ultimate or Deluxe for Nintendo Switch that Wii U eshop is closing down on March 27th for this year and it's should be coming this year soon when Sonic Central Direct is coming!
I just really wished me and other newer Sonic fans could enjoy the adventure games and the early boost games on modern consoles Btw the collections should be named “Sonic adventures” and “Sonic boost collection” Or if SEGA makes a nonspecific 3D game collection it should be “3D Sonic super collection” Or something like that I dunno…

I feel like the advance collection shouldnt just be sonic advance, i feel it should be most of the sonic games made by dimps, add pocket adventure, the rush duology, colors ds, unleashed sd(wii). Just dont add sonic 4 ep1 and ep2
the sad thing about origins is that I probably could have gotten the Sega Genesis classics for cheaper,with all the glitches,and the original controls.
I played Genesis version of Sonic Blast and I enjoyed it and its music, but holy cow what was Sega on when making the Saturn music its soooooo goooooooooooood
I was surprised sega bothered to put crisis city in sonic generations because like you said they never acknowledge the game. They won’t even make sonic 06 backward compatible on Xbox for no reason. Likely due to poor reception however unleashed had really bad reviews too and that’s backward compatible. Kind of hypocritical.
It's a shame '06 isn't backwards compatible and Sega tries to forget it. But Unleashed doesn't suffer from the performance issues '06 does, so it only makes sense that it would be compatible. Also i think most of the Unleashed backlash was just from people not wanting to accept the Werehog, but over time many realized it's actually a pretty solid game.
Good news! -Sonic Origins contains Retro Engine versions of the games and S3&K has a ton of restored cut and new content! -Sonic R can be played definitively in form of the Sonic R Updater and Modloader! Bad news, -Origins is a bit of a mess -Still no Chaotix, SEGASonic, Jam or Saturn 3D Blast.
I want a collection of Sonic Generations and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed because I'm mental like that. Also wouldn't mind a collection of the Adventure games.
OMG! i would definitely buy a Sonic Adventure Collection if it included not only Sonic Adventure Remastered & Sonic Adventure 2 Remastered but also Sonic Heroes Remastered & Shadow The Hedgehog Remastered for the PS4/PS5/XBOXSS/XBOXSX/NW/PC even if it ends up costing $79.99 or more, id still buy it and id do it for more then one system too. I wish that Sega would also include mostly forgotten Sonic games, such as Sonic's Gameworld, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Sonic Eraser, the other arcade Sonic games, and even the N-Gage Sonic game
Idk about Sonic Adventure 1 but 2 on Steam already supports something more definitive than 16:9 - _ultrawide resolutions_ I can play it at 3440x1440, or ultrawide 1440p. Also would add Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic 06 to the adventure collection because they are all connected story and lore wise, Sonic 06 was also supposed to be Adventure 3. Heroes had some story ties with Adventure 2 and so did Shadow the Hedgehog.
Honestly looking back at this after Origins is a lot of fun just think about the potential. Though I'd make a few small changes/additions Adventure Collection: Our definitions of the adventure era clearly differs and that's okay. To me it's basically just the Dreamcast era aka the era prior to their Nintendo deal (even if they'll get ported later) So the best candidates for this imo are Adventure 1 + 2 but with the addition of Shuffle and a reimagined Sonic Pocket Adventure which almost feels like a proto Advance title. It getting a complete facelift in the vain of Sonic 2 HD that got cancelled and some actual effort in making the levels anything but a Sonic 2 clone, could go a long way I think. That would leave a few other titles that I personally don't consider either adventure or boost style (Lost World and Boom fit into this category too) - Sonic Heroes, Shadow, Secret Rings and Black Knight. I call this collection the Sonic Silver Age since it's an age with a lot of ideas that comes after their debut 3D formula but before they landed on and stuck with the boost from Unleashed onward (the exception being Black Knight since released after Unleashed but I still count it as it's a continuation of what Secret Rings brought) This might be a bit much though so maybe I'd make some small adjustments... Anyways sorry for rambling. This just really inspired me haha. Great video
Sonic 06 was a banger and i loved it, i’ve also played p-06 The best change was making mach speed controllable and we need a sonic 06 rerelease as it’s one of the best in the series but most people hear glitch and say game bad Example: violet released recently and it has many bugs and is hated for it, it has unique pokemon, story, characters, and it’s interesting Botw and odyssey r the lucky games, they have many glitches that can break the game and r adored and that’s because people actually played them before people realized wht a mess of glitches they were Edit: the next time anyone wants to make fun of any game for being a glitchy mess, you can only do that if you have played the game, there is a difference between what you were told by others and what you have experienced
I was born little before the genesis with master system. my 1st. So I was born with sonic mostly. When come collection got yo much sega just need one the only got one just for sonic. Think we need more Pac-Man or mega man. Just my thought sorry sonic or genesis fan.
If hope in the Adventure collection they put a idea that I have and that is idea is put a spindash to Amy Rose in where she uses his hammer and a Homing hammer
