The captions aren't really matching what they are saying in practical sense. For instance the caption say " we are waiting for the fatal fire" which may be the direct translation, but in practice they're saying "the fatal fire awaits us". It's not that the translations are incorrect, it's just that there not what is actually being said.

On the first photo you can see the commandos from the reconessence batallion of the Northern fleet. Their commander is Victor Leonov, 2 times Hero of the Soviet Union. Actually, he is a real person behind the main character of the book "Guns of Navaronne" by A. Maclean.
