Yes, it was sad to see Phiphi's footprints. I loved your opening music, so uplifting and full of Zen. Coldwater, hmm.. I want to give a try, thanks for sharing. ❤ From Southern New England 🌱
You two are too cute. LOL. Good fun. Well done. I love that you stop to take time to reconnect with each other and watch out for each other. Wonderful. Simply wonderful. Stay of good cheer.
You two work so hard to create your vision. What you've accomplished together is nothing short of amazing. Tara your stonework is going to be unique and beautiful ❤️. Glad you are taking time for yourselves to simply be.
Thank you for taking us with you for that cold water swim! WOW! Be Brave is right!! How lovely that you have such a beautiful clean river for swimming nearby! 🩱🥶🌊❤
Can you tube down the river? Beautiful and so peaceful. I'll 🙏 pray for your home. GOD has a plan for you. It's nice to have time for each other only. ❤️ 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 CIAO CIAO SE MICHIGAN 🙏 usa🎉
That little snippet of Crusoe was beautiful. You are living your strap line - even with all of the knock backs you step forward, dust yourselves off and press ahead. My admiration cup overflows.
Tara you are doing great with the oven it will look super in the end, you will see. Thanks for taking us along for the dip😮😮😮.Holding thumbs and sending positive energy for the plans .❤❤❤❤🇬🇷 🇬🇷
Thinking back two years ago when there was nothing but an overgrown bamboo forest where you are now standing 🎍 Your farm has blossomed with all the care and love it is getting!! Your outdoor kitchen is just such a project: handmade with all your heart!! I love how rustic it is, looks like it’s always been part of the property! And you’re leaving space for things to grow in and around it, just so beautiful!! ❤ 🪨🪨🪨🍕🥳👍🏻 And 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
I'm so jealous of your Spring flowers. The flowers, birdsong, misty clouds...all perfect! There is a certain contemplative feeling when working which is rather inspiring. Be in the moment. If you finish this week, great. If you don't, so? My mum had a little card on her fridge which said, "Do what you are doing". She said it reminded her to enjoy the journey, not to get anxious about getting to the destination. So, Tara, do what you are doing! Enjoy it! It will work out. It might require adjustments, changes, or just a rethink. My fingers and toes are crossed!!! Walking is challenging, but I'm there in spirit! Blessed Be!
Wow I love your courage Tara taking on that cementing project that is coming along nicely 😊. Loved those gorgeous flowers already out. Here in Vermont they are just showing their greenery popping out of the ground. Had to laugh so watching you both getting in that COLD river...😂not for this 74 year old body😊. Thanks again.
I am proud of you both taking that swim! I take a 3 minute cold shower every day and swim once or twice a week for 10 minutes in a dead arm of a big river and it works perfect for me. Hope you stay enjoying it as well. Stay brave and enjoy because you are already very special to many. ❤
Dear Tara, I enjoy watching your building work for the future pizza oven as I can imagine what you are trying to achieve. Now then, Michael Angelo may not have been excited by your plan and execution with the rocks, however Fred Flintstone would have been jumping up and down with excitement! For me personally, I think that your effort is amazing and even though it is far from finished I do believe that you will accomplish what you want to do, so well done so far. I would not miss one episode and credit for all that you do.
Hi Angela, thank you for this lovely comment. It put such a big smile on my face. I will gladly take Fred Flintstone and your approval, so thank you 🙏🏼😊💦❤️🇵🇹
Thank you for putting the protection on the rebar. It’s never a bad idea to employ safety on a job site. Especially if it’s an open accessible space. It’s coming along beautifully .
Cold water swimming is the best! It's a Sunday morning ritual for me with the girls. Very much mind over matter. Get in, breathe out, and just swim! Sets me up for the week and fixes my aching muscles. Always resets my mental health.
What a beautiful day to take a cold plunge.. Could not help seeing all all the scenery at the river.. I am sending love and light to u and ur family.. U guys will overcome!!!
Flowers look so beautiful great job! Ours were coming up until suprise of 5 inches of snow yesterday 😩. The day is beautiful there which helps mentally. You both need that time for yourselves.to see her prints in the cement is heart warming for the love you gave them but yet heartbreaking at the same time. Bike ride looks great! The river is beautiful.😂😂well you got your well being 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Looks like it feels great have a peaceful day ❤️
Building with stones is a huge challenge. Most things now are built with brick or Leica blocks as a foundation and then stone is added as decoration on the outside. So incredibly impressed that you are going for it!
I love that you two got to sneak some time away even if just for a beautiful day out for a bit of cold plunge. Love it, on your bikes. These are just dreams that many of us have. Flowers are blooming, trees are growing, and the sun is shining. I am gonna take it as you did this for me, after losing my hubby very recently. So thanks!!!💕💓💌. You two are just wonderful and so grateful for each other to lift you up. But man I am so jelly on those bikes. You two need to do this more often. And you can bet people will be taking you up on that challenge. LOL Tara, that outdoor kitchen is gonna be a gem. But with all those beautiful flowers of John's work, and your green wall growing, we may not be able to see your work. ☹
It was the perfect little getaway Anna. Spring is one of our favourite seasons too, we love seeing all the new flowers blooming and blossoming! Thank you for the lovely comment about us, you are too sweet ❤️❤️
Tara, all you do ,all your efforts to accomplish what is required,is a sort of beauty uploading on the farm. And John is your perfect mate. What can your lovely kids desire more? Enjoy your reality, love you all ❤❤❤❤
I just love how the pizza oven is looking and I know how tricky curved and odd shaped rocks can be to join together. It looks very natural as if it has grown out of the ground. Thank you for sharing your challenges as well as your beautiful part of the world.
The outdoor kitchen is comming together nicely! Take you time, Tara, don´t rush to deliver some content for us! The garden and flowers are already looking soooo beautiful! And shout out to you both! I couldn´t bring myself into this cold water! NEEEEEVER! John is great in this and you , Tara did so well, too! Nice episode, as always! Love it!
15:36 Oh, Crusoe is such a wonderful litte person- he speaks really good and very clear! If I understand it right (English isn’t my first language😊) he love brown flowers? so cute !!! You both do an amazing job with your kids and they can be so happy to have this kind of childhood with you as their parents. For my opinion: good job!!! It is also wonderful to see how you Tara and you John interact together, so respectful and full of love . ❤ It is so sad what happened to your chickens and I hope the new chickens will help all of you to feel a little bit better. Fingers crossed for the letter and I wish from the bottom of my heart that it will be okay and your wishes for the new house will become truth .
Tara I've started writing this while you're still at the pizza oven...you pivot between having a fabulous philosophy on life & being terribly hard on yourself. We don't live your day by day..we see it in weekly clumps. Maybe you need to see your life in clumps too. You'll see that you are doing wonderfully wonderfully well, fabulous in fact - the small glitches are nothing. Go well my friends, Kia Kaha (Be strong) remember when a door closes a window opens somewhere - keep looking through the windows for your next opportunity. Everything works out, maybe not how you thought, but detours that redirect can take you to places you never imagined. Embrace the detours! Much love ❤
Sooo well said! I´m sadly no native english speaker and amazed, how well placed your words are and what kind of words you use to make this text fine ans sensible! Thank you!
Fun, fun!! The secret to cold water emersion is to rush straight in and stay in. The longer you are under the water the more pleasant it becomes. I've even done it in the coldest weather and at midnight too. You must do it more often. Eventually you become addicted it like Julie at Mapoerton. So awesome. Enjoy❤️
Yes please do more cold plunge even if it’s only 2 minutes of your video inspires me to try again and every thing you both do is amazing and thank you for taking us watching along your journey ❤
I'm happy to see you "crackin' on" with your outdoor kitchen/pizza oven. Can't wait to see you making a meal out there! 🌄 It's day 49 on my Aura app and I haven't begun to make a dent with all the helpful content. I find it's particularly useful for me at the end of my days listening to soothing sounds and music. Being a widow, and having a son that experienced severe mental health issues and obstacles from his dad's sudden passing, I've put a lot of responsibility on my shoulders. (Side note: I went to the dentist yesterday and my blood pressure was down significantly. I told the nurse my Aura app and meditation must be helping!). 🥰
Thanks friend, it is a daunting project if I am being honest but I am happy to be working on it again. We are SO happy to hear you have been loving your Aura app! This has made us so happy, well done you. This is incredible. Thanks for sharing your experience with us 🙌🏼❤️😄🇵🇹
@@TheNewbys Ohhh I hear ya about it being a daunting task! Just making the concrete mix and getting it to your project area is a total win... then, figuring out what stones go where and getting them in place is another task in itself. I like the idea of your sticks holding up the side bits. Great job with your critical thinking skills. Hahaha!! 😃
Whoop-Whoop, let me start watching and answer a little later..... Wow, what a nice video, I really like it. I put you on my prayer list for your home building project. I really hope it's going to turn out well. Maybe let Mario help. 😊😊. Love your flowers. Owe and how you made me laugh 😅 when you were in the water. 😂😂. That was so great to see you having time together ❤️. But we missed the boys. Where were they? Crusoe was so sweet. Ps Tara, your pizza oven is going to be just amazing, beautiful! We don't know the idea in your head, but it's started to look awesome. We hold thumbs and pray for you. Greatings Melinda from South-Africa 🙏🏻🙏🏻
My daughter and I just returned from a week long trip to Iceland where we did a cold plunge! Your face in the cold looked much better than mine!😅 Thanks for being such an inspiration for our travels!!❤ Love you guys!!
I've come to love your family and I will be keeping you in my prayers for your permits for your home. I had a chiropractor who believed in that cold water business too. He used a water trough like they use on the farm to water. I used to do it in my shower. I forgot about it maybe I will try it again. Blessings and love from New Mexico
Thank you so much for all your love and prayers Judie, it means the world to us. We challenge you to try the cold shower/dip again, you might really enjoy it again 🙏🏼😊💦❤️🇵🇹
Tara, thank you so much for sharing with all of us that you have been struggling with anxiety. The struggle itself is hard on its own, not to mention sharing it with others. I know things will work out for you no matter what the letter says, because you have each other. I've been following you for just a few months, but when i found you on RU-vid, I binge watched (Yes, I binge watched :) ) all your episodes to catch up. Now that I am current, I cant wait for the new episodes to come out.
Your videos are so magnificent always looking out to discover what project you are doing next... lovely way to live out... I'm watching from South Africa and I have become enthusiastic to move to Portugal just to be close to the nature as you both are doing in an eco environment
Hello from Australia. I just wanted to share with you my “can I do it “ moment. I wanted a fish pond so I thought “give it a go “ and despite being told I am too old (67) I did it. Not trying is failing and you are so far from that and doing a wonderful job on your outdoor kitchen. Keep your chin up
It was lovely to see just the two of you having quality time together as much as you love the boys its very easy to forget that you need time as a couple ❤ and fingers and toes crossed that you get some good news about your build
Just feeling your confidence with this project. Trusting yourself with making creative & technical decisions & backing yourself to do so. I’ve recently learned how to do the same & it’s empowering to release yourself from the anxiety surrounding this 🎉It’s looking great! ❤
When I go in the cold sea in the uk I immerse my whole body shoulders as well and stay under for 5 minutes. I find then your body adjusts to the cold and you can get then swim for longer without the pain.
Oh I so applaud you for the cold water immersion. I can't imagine doing it lol. Well done both of you and good on you for taking time away from your hard work. Sending hugs xx
Hi little family, so glad you have the tools for well being and are using them, no matter where you are life can be stressful at times especially when its no fault of your own, there is also the solace of your beautiful children, innocent and new to the world, Crusoe's delight in nature is so heartwarming and little Sawyer keen to be a part of everything you do especially his little mentor Crusoe, love to you all, breathe in the air and look at your surroundings with new eyes every day and life will always be stimulating and the gift that it is, once again, love to all!!🥰😘😘💕👌👍👍💪🐥🐔🐓🦋🦋
Hi Frances, looking after our mental wellness is so important and we are so thankful to have found a platform that helps us do just that! Thanks for the constant support and love 🙏🏼😊💦❤️🇵🇹
Cold water plunging is exhilarating isnt it😮😊 Inspiring wall and pizza oven project, girls can do anything!!! Best of luck for your home, envision best outcome and hold that vision. As someone with anxiety and insomnia can totally relate, always a work in progress...xx❤
Last year spring skipped us. We didn't see bloom until June. And, here you're in bloom already. So beautiful! Those rocks look very porous - must be the region. Anyway, your wall is starting to take shape. What a beautiful setting for your plunge. Didn't realize all the benefits of a cold plunge! It'd certainly get the heart pumping. No wonder it's good for circulation. You're so brave!
Hi guys .what a beautiful picture of the two of you to get her having fun.❤❤❤❤God bless you both always and I pray your letter will bring good news missed the boys this week sending hugs to them.god be with you all❤❤❤❤
Aww nooooo. What has the Municipality now come up with to stop (or delay) the project of the new build? I'm sure that you have a good architect, engineer and also a lawyer to see this project to its final completion. Good luck guys. Praying for a good outcome.🤞🙏
Be kinder to yourself! This should be your first challenge !❤ most people are currently experiencing anxiety in one way or other. It isn’t surprising given the current state of the world but it is a sign of our moving forward on our journey. So as unpleasant as it feels in the moment (like the deep cold plung😂), when embracing all, one starts reaping the rewards of the blessings in disguise. Any challenge we encounter can be turned into a blessing. So don’t threat about the news as regards your planning application but rather if you can, be excited at the prospect of all happening in a different way to that you expected. Trust my own experience the universe has this “habit” of sending us exactly what is needed in the moment, so we keep shedding what needs be. Then one day in the future you will look back and feel: this was actually for the best and you were triggered to create in a different way, discovering a new you. When we trust, the universe always has our back. So be kind on yourself! I am by the way also in a “similar” place, moving to my cottage in a months time with yet all the big work to be done… and every little decision that needs making is currently daunting….Everything feels new…so constantly having to adapt/create….can be exhausting at times but also exhilarating at other times….so breaks are a must too. I’ll stop for now 😂. Thank you once more for sharing your journey xx❤
Your outdoor kitchen is really coming along and I am really looking forward to seeing it fulfil your vision. Well done to both of you for doing the cold dip, very brave like your motto x
When you are working on your stones Kara, you have a look of determination and concentration. Your jaw is set to the work at hand and I have seen this look on Crusoe’s face when he gets involved in his work!
I am so impressed that you are so open and share your troubles and your joys. You're right Tara, remembering the tools at your disposal and making use of them is the key. Lovecthat cold water! All available fingers and toes are crossed for your letter, but whatever it is you will work something out. I think of your friends in Italy, who had to adapt and change completely. (I bet you would love to have some of their shale rocks for your kitchen!). All the best for this week.
Thanks Kerstin, I want to be as honest as possible on this platform and being able to share an incredible app like Aura that could hopefully help others out there too, makes it all worth it. 🙌🏼❤️😄🇵🇹
Tara, your brave face you put on getting into that cold water and the your laugh as you scrambled out absolutely made my day, it cracked me up and was so infectious. And your pizza oven is something that I am trying to replicate at my place….only you’re a lot better at it than I am. Love your life Newbys!!
Hiya Newbys! Loved this vlog, great to see you enjoying the river, lucky to have this on your doorstep. How lovely you had that time together to chill out ( literally 😆😆😆) , it looked invigorating. As for the future regarding your house build, whatever comes your way , you’re a team and you’ll. face it together. Oh and Tara , you’re doing a stellar job on your project. Until next time, sending you all love and hugs xx❤️💙💙💙
Hi Sue! We are very lucky to have it on our doorstep, we love it! The cold swim was exactly what we both needed. Thanks for the support and love friend. We will see you again on Sunday 🙏🏼😊💦❤️🇵🇹
Tara, you are doing a splendid job on the pizza oven. A suggestion, use the small stones as pinning stones to fill the gaps between the big stones, push them into the gaps so they bind to the large stones. I am no expert but if you watch Finca Life, Andy explains it really well and I noticed the stone masons using them on the Scotters build and Brady's new extension in Italy. It was lovely to see that beautiful view behind you as you worked, loved the birdsong and silence.❤ Loved the swimming spot and the beautiful bridge. John I suffer from hay-fever and I find if I take a spoonful of local honey it helps, I guess because the bees have collected pollen from the local flora which is infused in the honey so you body gets used to it. We had a house in Spain and I discovered I was allergic to olive blossom, taking the honey helped.
Hi Sue. Thanks so much for the suggestion, I love getting new ideas from you and the rest of the community here. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. We will be sure to try the spoonful of honey to help with the hay-fever ❤️🙏🏼
You were on a date!!! Fun! I love how you are always looking at the positive side of things and are forward thinkers. Your outdoor kitchen is looking fab! Always enjoy your content! Thank you.
🌺💕🙂Hi Newby Family! I think Tara and Crusoe make the same serious facial expressions when they concentrate on something - seen this many times in your videos and it’s adorable actually! The kitchen is looking great - don’t worry - it will come together! Also keeping you in our thoughts and wishing everything will be good to go for your house - maybe a little delayed but it will come to fruition. I would be at that river every day - so beautiful!!
Hi Lamp Family! A few others from the community here have mentioned that so I guess that is where Crusoe got his expression from 😂 thanks for the well wishes for the house. We will definitely keep you all posted 🙌🏼❤️😄🇵🇹
Hi Lamp Family! A few others from the community here have mentioned that so I guess that is where Crusoe got his expression from 😂 thanks for the well wishes for the house. We will definitely keep you all posted 🙌🏼❤️😄🇵🇹
Love the both of you doing the cold water dip! LOL Tara…you are doing a good job on the pizza oven….and will learn from any mistakes. Hoping for good news for you…your house.
They must have been very short when that absolutely gorgeous stone bridge was built. Im so jealous how you have so much in the way of beautiful stone buildings. Id so love to live in one - temperature controlled! ❤
As spring is blooming there we are experiencing yet another snow storm. It look pretty and peaceful, but Km ready for colour. The pizza oven area is coming along well Tara. Good for you to take in the challenge. Crusoe 's voice is such a sweet sound. Prayers for the house permits to come through soon. ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
Tara, admiration for building the pizza oven on your own. Just a hint - when you place the cement/mortar on, you need to 'throw' it on, so that it gets in to all the nook and crannies of the rock you are laying on top. Accuracy of 'throwing', comes with practice. Check out your friends on 'Raising Voyager' about selecting the right stone to go in the right place. Good luck.
I get scared to try new things and there are things I wouldn’t dare try. Tara you keep pushing those boundaries. You’ll keep getting better. The wall looks really good. Letting layers harden a bit will also help.
Tara, While you are learning to build a pizza oven I am learning how to crochet. Neither of us have a pattern to follow as I don’t know how to read a crochet pattern. Somewhere along the line stitches come to me in my head and I turn them into blankets or scarves. It’s all a learning curve for us both. Perseverance and for me a lot of ripping out and starting over again until it looks what I think it should look like. I am feeling alongside you quite an accomplishment of what I have taught myself and continue to teach myself to do. We are never too old to learn new things or to use our creative mind. I’m 63! Also I have anxiety and being creative and my hands busy keeps my anxiety level very low to none. Your doing a lovely job on your pizza oven and I hope your enjoying the process as much as I am enjoying watching you and listening to your encouragement. Have a beautiful day 🌞🌻🌺
You were brave to enter into that river! I can imagine the cold! kkkkkkkk. Anyway, the place is beautiful and quiet. You have to do this more often. Thank you for this episode and I´ll see you in the next one!
You are doing a fantastic job on your outdoor kitchen stone wall. Love your determination and enjoying the task. You commented on your face when working I saw Carusos expression when he is deep in thought! Lovely.
Tara please don't fear failure, you are already proving to be successful by even trying to do this project! We all have to start somewhere and by continuing without giving up, we get better and better at it. You are also teaching a good lesson in endurance for your boys. Well done! 😊❤👍
You are so lovely people! Love watching you guys! Life goes on no matter what! Everything will work out. And if it doesn’t its because it wasn’t meant that way and a better way is on its way! Always works! 🙏🏻♥️
Well done! Looking awesome and rustic. Something so special about using local resources. I've also been carting cement across our land to build our chicken coop. I swear after two days I can see shoulder muscle definition! Very smart to do a couple of levels and let it dry. We did that for our dog kennel, turned out great. Also...there's no rush. It will all get done eventually ❤
The four of you have been such an inspiration. I have learned to lower my blood pressure by more than 20 points in a 10 minute dose of meditation, and I don’t know why, but I have been craving tomatoes and nothing but tomatoes. OK I’m craving my own greenhouse, but it is not possible due to the incredible storms we can have during even a mild hurricane season (Florida, please, someone rescue me.)Thank you for all your content. You give me hope for the future of homesteading, self reliance, and you are the cutest parents I’ve ever semi-witnessed!
