Halo RU-vidrs now: HALO IS SAVED!!! Halo RU-vidrs when Halo Infinite's popularity drops again: Halo Infinite is still broken after more than a year of being launched
EBR isn’t fooled by 343. And neither am I. The issues that have persisted since launch need to be addressed now rather than wait another year. Calling halo infinite a live service is a joke because not only is content not regularly added it’s scarce, incomplete and buggy.
@@DeadEyes63 I'm so glad to follow him because he isn't biased. I like to watch other Halo RU-vidrs like hiddenxperia and mintblitz, but they kinda get into the hype train and make "Halo is better than ever" type of videos when everyone is excited
Halo mcc is getting more compared to infinite, especially when it comes to mods on pc’s. I’ve seen some mods that people have made for mcc looking pretty damn good, and honestly would play that. I love halo infinite, but 343 needs to add more, seriously where the hell is firefight, infection, invasion mode, better progression, and other game modes.
@@mitsuri3096 I can’t believe the amount of people I’ve heard and seen saying “I can’t believe halo infinite is saved”. “The game is the best” more or less it’s on the right track but it’s far from saved
Heavily agree with these sentiments. 343 already did this exact thing with Halo 5; they patted themselves on the back for doing the minimal, and then let the community make content for them. History tends to repeat its self. Each incarnation, less feature complete than the last. Sure, the community has always picked up the slack, but NOW this is carrying the entire franchise on our shoulders! It reeks of neglect and incompetence from the developers.
The developers want to work on the game.. issue is management. They hired contract workers to build a engine that’s held together with duct tape and flex seal, refuse to hire more permanent developers, and are on a skeleton crew that’s essentially trying to sail across the Atlantic with no equipment in a cardboard boat. Things are getting better at 343 when it comes to management, but not fast enough. Don’t blame the developers through. They do what the big man in the suit says. They sure as hell don’t do it for the money. It’s a passion. They’re upset too.
@@itskidkelly great way to put it. Unfotunately this happens in a lot of industries, the upper management makes the bad decisions and everyone else on the frontline takes the blame.
@@justiceforjoggers2897 i work in healthcare, we're severely underpaid and constantly overworked, we also constantly get shit on whenever things aren't going too well, I'm at the bottom of the food chain yet somehow I am supposed to be held accountable for decisions that are way beyond me and that I fully disagree with, but due to the nature of my job, I cannot change? I don't doubt that some developers that worked on the engine didn't fully care about creating an easy to work on program, but then again, if you're about to leave and you dislike management and their decisions, why would you care about making a good product that you won't ever touch again? You do the bare minimum and leave when your time is up. I dislike 343 as a company, I don't dislike it's developers, because I am sure that although not everyone of them understands fully what they're working on (constantly horny for anything competitive), they still show a passion for what they're doing
Most 343’s leads have left during Infinite’s dev and life cycle. They’re not the same team they once were. I think they have a good team now with Joe, Paul Bertone and Pierre Hintze.
I appriciate the take. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I see people claiming that forge is the solution to all the game's problems. I stopped playing Infinte, a pvp shooter, because its networking was awful. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed on that front but somehow community maps are supposed to fix that? Casual or competetive, I don't want to play an fps game with a deployment blocking issue like this, or, at least what *used* to be considered a blocker. Halo games used to lead the industry and set standards, now we're fine with broken core fuctions a year into the product's lifespan. That's not going to change if the blinders come on and wallets come out the second a delayed launch feature gets added.
343 paid halo content creators to shill their mediocre game and this barebone copy of a game mode, they even delete comments criticize and tell the truth about halo infinite they know their game is the joke of gaming industry hell every true halo fan knows it.
The Boys Unknown had the same reaction actually. “Yeah, Forge, it’s really good, but saying that it saved Halo Infinite? Come on, guys, calm down.” Something like that.
I haven’t even watched ANY videos about Infinite’s forge for the elephant in the room that you so bravely point out Some might think you’re cynical, i think you’re a lot more independent minded than the common lot
@@TehCakeIzALie1 organisms dont live in a reef after its dead, a bleaching reef causes a an ecological chain reaction, which results in the relocation of its inhabitants.
@@Zero_XTZ5 when the devs don’t do anything except add a pass and we are the ones doing their job then yes the game is therefore dead. Players are the ones doing the devs job
Yeah no I hate seeing sensationalist titles like that. Especially given the state of the game. Yes. We get it. Forge is fucking sick. But it's not what's gonna save this game. What's gonna save this game is 343 actively listening to feedback and *DELIVERING* based on said feedback. Nothing short of hard work and *true* dedication from the devs is gonna save this game.
@@normal-use7628 I'd say it's felt like that since 2007 or 2010. Cause I remember getting into fights in school and on forums back in the day over Reach and 3. The Halo community is just shit, period.
@@KylePhantomK94 sure, but those disagreements were more over the placement of Reach in the cannon and the slightly different gameplay and weapon loadouts. That's completely different from 343 copying COD and saying for years they didn't, and that's different from 343 lying to Halo fans for years on end. Those are simple disagreements that any community would have. However, with 343 its completely different, the Halo community isn't shit, 343 made the Halo community shit.
I’ve been playing halo starting with my dad in halo 2 when I was 4 years old, I love and I mean LOVE halo. It hurts but I’m done and unless something can convince me to come back and it be remotely close to old care and love for the own game then I’m done. Rip the best halo/gaming
See that’s the most unfortunate thing. Imagine putting so much love and time into playing a game that really means something to you, your childhood. Hate how the corporates can’t think of the players.
Forge was never going to save halo infinite especially when the most vital part of it, the server browser, wont be a part of it until March. Don't know why content creators were pushing that when it released. The only way this game ever has chance for a comeback is its BR mode. If it cant comeback after that, it wont ever. Thank you for seemingly being the only one who managed their expectations correctly.
You realize them chasing trends is what killed this in the first place right? Also, just how the fuck is a BR going to work with 100 Spartans. They need to focus on a lot more stuff before they even consider putting time and resources into a BR
@@phanto6599 There is nothing intrinsically wrong with chasing trends, its all about how you do it. BR's aren't popular for no reason. It's a great game mode. The reason why some of the halo community have a problem with it is more because of the garbage monetization practices that are usually attached to the mode. BUT most of those garbage monetization practices are already in the game to begin with, so there's really nothing to lose in adding it. As for how 100 Spartans would work I'm not sure but I don't see why it wouldn't work either. There's also nothing written anywhere saying that it HAS to be 100. They handed off the development of the mode to an entirely different studio so I'm sure there giving it plenty of thought, there's a lot of room for innovation. And if not then the game officially dies and the Halo series gets yet another black mark on its name.
@@lolololololollollol1 the only way I can see a halo br working is if it's another game entirely but connected to halo like COD with warzone. They wouldnt be able to do full shielded Spartans that can take you out in 2 punches. I could see an ODST mode working
I wouldn't mind 343 using community made content for updates. They know forge is powerful, they know they have an insanely dedicated and talented community of fans, why not make use of it? (They wouldn't have delayed it by a year if it was just going to be relegated to custom games) But if they do go down that path, then I do expect the developers to allocate the extra time into focusing on aspects of the game that cannot be done in forge (new vehicles and weapons, server and progression fixes, customization options) There is a lot Halo Infinite needs, so having part of the work be done by the community while 343 focuses on the rest is a faster way to get there. (I know it's easy to be a cynic and say "the devs will only get lazier" but that's something that we'll have to wait and see. I mean 343's management has changed a lot this past year)
The UI is still broken. Why can’t we pick the modes we want to play like social slayer or just a specific playlist like King of the Hill? It’s so frustrating to mention even the most simplest of things 343 managed to screw up on. Don’t even get us started about how theatre is still broken as well as custom games. Theatre itself provided a huge community of creators who made amazing machinima and other forms of work. And if we don’t have strong custom games feature, it will also limit the potential forge has greatly. @halo please answer the community’s questions
The only thing that's brought me back was 343 finally adding their basic barely functioning co-op to campaign so me and my friend can add this to our "Halo games we've beaten on legendary co-op" tally, while it's cool they've added forge, i'm not a forger and i've never been one, but if 343 thinks the key to saving their game is shitting out dev-tools to exploit the community as unpaid labor to design maps and gamemodes for them to save their dwindling playerbase they've got another thing coming.
Well they dont care if its unpaid as long as they are having fun. And personally am kind of alright with the idea of letting the community keep themselves busy, but 343 damn well better focus on fixing the main issues with the game and adding things that cant be done in forge in the mean time. It seems like they are though so that's good
This feels like a bad faith argument. Yes people are saying it's saved but do we have to constantly moan on every video? Can't we just celebrate the wins when they happen? We all know the problems and they aren't going anywhere. And just because we don't mention them doesn't mean we are ignoring them or have forgotten.
not to mention forge decides to randomly rotate stuff when using the undo button... what a feature... if only moving then undoing said move was ever tested.
Literally I’m sick of “this is the update that saves the game” with every damn update from content creators. And I am just waiting for 343 to pull a halo 5 or reach and just making forge maps the only new content we get going forwards, and while it may not look as horrible, I still don’t understand why they can’t make proper maps
Im biggest worry is that 343 is gonna pull a Valve/TF2 scenario, going from including player made content as a fun little side thing to literally RELYING on player content to keep the game afloat. The only difference being that Valve had about 10 years of in house updates before doing this, and 343 has literally had Halo Inf out less than a year LOL
This is the most real take on the game right now unlike every other RU-vidr out there. No offense to them but im with you man shits going so slow the forge is great but like all I want to make is infection maps and we don’t even have a basic mode of it to use and edit. Something we had in 2007. This is just crazy how long shits moving.
I would love if 343 added an invasion mode like they did in reach, unsc vs banished. Playing against playable brutes, grunts, jackals, and elites(hint hint 343) against Spartans. But alas it’ll never happen, at best it’ll just be Spartans vs differently colored Spartans, and such. Or not at all.
Halo was saved... from extinction. Unfortunately that is the maximum extent to which the game was saved. It will forever be on life support with its minuscule population and never have mainstream appeal, no matter how many updates 343 puts out. The only chance of that happening was at launch, it's too late now to see this game be popular again. A shame
I love you dude, i was genuinely tired of people spamming the exact same title of "halo saved, amazing, fixed, etc.", i had to block channels that i semi-actively followed for the same reason, not only are the titles extremely garbage tier clickbait, but content creators known for bashing 343 are suddenly as mentioned, having a huge amnesia attack with how easily they are forgiving 343, as troubled infinite's development was, and yes i will give props to genuinely good stuff, but youtubers like mintz blitz which were decent channels just hoped into that trend and started licking 343 boots at an alarming rate or using those titles just for a map showcase lmao. infinite after a lot of troubled development might finally get on course, but people should and must demand content, fixes and basic stuff like allowing me to get the color white without spending 15usd in a core that i don't like, forge very good, keep pushing 343 so they keep releasing good stuff, basic halo content is a must.
We have, as of the winter update, finally reached Minimum Viable Product. After a full year of the game being released and charging money for shop items, Infinite has finally reached a point of only being disappointing. Minimum Viable Product is not the state a game should ship in, let alone only manage to reach after a year of it's release.
Yes, bro!! There is soooo much content, MADE BY FANS. Devs took the backseat when they realized the community can make better maps and better game modes. just give us the dev tools and leave, its obvious they've stopped trying.
Yes a lot, kek, there is not a single functional game mode nor map yet by the simple fact that nu-forge is broken and does not compare in the slightest to the simpler and much more functional classic forge
I agree, 343 forge is so jarring, confusing and overall bad, it's fking unreal how they messed up something so simple iconic and central to the halo experience. Fire343
It's good to FINALLY see some sort of progress. But.. and it's a big but.. there are still so many issues with the core game that need resolving. Desync is still a huge issue, the UI is a buggy mess, the physics are still lack luster compared to previous halos. When people say "The gameplay is solid" I always scratch my head, there are so many issues still with it that make the game feel like an Alpha, not even a beta. The fact a game released in 2007 in Halo 3, still plays better than a game released 15 years later is mind boggling.
I stopped watching the toxic positivity halo content creators because it frustrates me how they all say halo is saved as soon as any game mode comes out from 343. I follow genuine content creators who actually care about the halo community and addresses issues that 343 actually need to hear. Not just some lap dogs doing it for money.
Finally for gods sake a content creator that isn’t a shill, sick of seeing mint and other halo RU-vidrs saying that this game is saved, it’s so far from being a finished product yet alone saved it’s actually tragic. They aren’t helping because 343 will see this reaction and think they don’t need to do much else. Sick of the infinite shills just because they have a huge audience to play these customs with, some of us don’t have that luxury an are just limited to the same guns, same maps, same game modes and same campaign that we’ve had since launch. You summed everything up perfectly man.
How about the fact that custom game settings lock after the first tuning session, some settings just ignore what you tell them to do, and we are still missing ultra basic stuff like teams being a toggleable option and setting number of lives. Settings seem to be arbitrarily limited. Nevermind the fact that the menus are annoying to navigate in almost every way.
I don't understand how all of these youtubers hated the roadmap when it was announced and then when exactly what was announced comes out, Halo is saved? It makes no sense
Will anybody see my comment? Probably not.. but I'm gonna say it anyways, and I believe that us not getting the models from the campaign such as bombed out hogs, blown up scorpions and crashed and smashed pelicans was incredibly stupid. I was assuming they would've put them in and now that they didn't all my ideas go out the window
Halo infinite cant be saved yet because I cant keep making content crapping on it is all I got from this vid honestly Yeah forge shouldve been here at launch or months ago but its here now and it's the best it's ever been which is why people are going nuts about it I agree this doesn't give 343 any kind of pass on their responsibilities to the game But they still made Forge snd made this possible for the community Dont try and play that down
@@eternalflame347 until bungie gets hack behind it and realize that bungie would probably be even worse than 343 is now since a lot of people at bungie in 2010 went to 343. Halo is Halo. Not a company
Winter Update release is good for the community, but I haven't really reaped any of the benefits - Social Slayer and Bot Bootcamp (the closest thing to PVE with matchmade allies) are unavailable - No beta customs browser to coincide with beta forge. Finding matches has to be facilitated externally through Discords and such for the time being. - I get desync and crashes just doing Forge mode solo. It doesn't happen often, but it's frustrating - When starting new maps, I get residual changes carried over from previous ones on occasion. - Blasted through the free Battle Pass - No co-op matchmaking
the selective amnesia is the pinical of halo follower also hes still a bit skeptical, hidden experia is the best one seemingly when it comes to his video on the winter update
Still a teen rated money grab. I'm sooo pissed about it. If it wasn't for the micro transaction bullshit the game would have been good. We'd have a bloody campaign not this tame titanfall knockoff
You expect way too much out of 343i, they've shown time and time again they have no interest in fixing the game and creating new exciting content for it. As far as I'm concerned, until they have nailed down the Desync, fixed theater, and cross core, I have no hope of the game ever becoming more than what it is, a pile of shit.
That's what I'm saying, all that supposed complexity and you can't do anything even resembling jenga or other genuinely fun modes like in halo 3 and reach. Halo infinite forge is a fancy broken garbage.
@@healthyhate411 this is the funniest wrong thing I've seen all day. I have seen plenty of fun modes that arent too fancy. Why the fuck are you even saying lmao
@@healthyhate411 I doubt it’s the employees’ faults. They just get contracted to work on an unfinished and buggy game and then leave after 6 months for the next person to try and piece together a game. The higher ups should get the can or whoever authorized an unfinished game to be released
idk what to say except why make this video, we all know how bad it is. This just milks money on a situation that im tired of and dont care about. the past is the past and what we have in the future is what we need to focus on. negativity aint gonn do anything except show that you've gigen up. this game reminds me of mcc situation when it released but look at it now, its extremely popular. if 343 wants to make this game last 10 years until they make a new one in the next decade thrn they will show what they got. its just us as a community are being slaty assholes and constantly complaining that gets us no where. be patient for this is all of xboxs fault for releasing the game to early.
This is what i have been saying! Sure forge is cool and all, and Match XP beta, and i cant play campaign co-op because i dont have friends that own the campaign, and splitscreen doesn't work (i wonder why) but this is stuff we should have gotten AT LAUNCH Thank you EBR your very down to earth
No one is saying we shouldnt have gotten it at launch and we shoukdnt necessarily excuse it but right now is thought because we just got a new studio shakeup and so far nothing but good has come out of it. Right now complaining about should've could've would've isnt going to help for a game thstd already out and being worked on.
FINALLY! Someone speaks the truth. The UI is trash D-Sync plagues the game still Where’s the cross-core?? Still can’t change armor while searching for a match No infection No new weapons *cough old shotty and MAGNUM We were led to believe we’d get assassinations back shortly after launch and nothing. has. really. changed. Yeah, Forge is great, but I totally think they’re gonna end up leaving the community to do the work for them.
have you see the insane amount of content players made in just 3 DAYS of forge? imagine in 3 weeks? or 3 months? forge is more than just 1 game mode, everyone knows that the game still has issues. what people mean by halo infinite being saved is that we have actual content to play now. of course the game is far from perfect but forge is so big that it actually buys time for 343 to work on the things you stated. in a way it DID save halo infinite, as a ton of people came back to the game simply because of forge. forge isn't comparable to 1 game mode like elimination or capture the flag, within it you can make all types of stuff, like infection (which has already been made). old maps are being recreated, people are making their own game modes, new maps, hell I even saw a dude make a functioning halo 4 jetpack in forge yesterday, I've seen working mystery boxes and pack a punch machines. forge buys 343 enough time until season 3 arrives and by then forge will be even better.
Kek, in 24 hours people were doing infinitely better things in halo 3 with a supposedly more limited forge, no matter how many features you put on a trash can it's still a trash can
I feel like Reach always had a good balance of Forge to real dev maps. If we can a get Forge map playlist that’s updated with new forger maps every season, that’d be awesome.
I get what you are saying but I think you’re being overlay critical. The winter update was a clear step forward for the company compared to previous updates. I get your gripes, but I think your need to appreciate the good parts and praise the good when something good happens. Forge is a huge win, for the community and and company. And once we get a custom games browser that will be an even bigger win. So many games are releasing with problems. Call of duty is filled with crashes, battlefield died at launch, new world forgot what makes a game and everyone left, and now we see Gotham knights getting ripped apart. A year into halo and I think we finally the games is running stronger then ever. The playlist selection is better, I’m finding games quicker, I almost never crash, forge is amazing, the communities online are growing looking at mint blitz channel and others. There is positive notes about this game and I feel like you are only looking at the bad.
I won't come back to Infinite until they get rid of the soulless, money grabbing, unoriginal and predatory monetization system that's currently in place. Judging on how the game is F2P I don't think that system will ever go away so I probably won't ever play this game again. It works in my favor as much as I would like it not to tho, better to focus on college and my future rather than this cash-grab "fuck you" of a game.
Not anywhere near the biggest issue with this game, but I don’t get how nobody is talking about the disappointingly low unspecified scripting limit. I put a few pointers and random variables and I’m out of the limit. If I say f it and keep going eventually I can’t open the map at all.
Everyone is so obsessed with multiplayer but i want a better campaign dlc, the story just sucks honestly, and lore content is lacking severely, no terminals, no backstories, the endless just exist basically out of nowhere
