We Need To Talk About MLB The Show 24... 

No tech test should tell you all you need to know. People have been begging for them to work on RTTS, franchise, gameplay and current gen graphics. They turn around and add moments. You can call it Storytlines all you want, they can waste 2 feature premieres on it but it's moments. This company has turned into EA what 3-4 yrs after going multi platform? Think about that, they make double the money now and do less every year. It's pathetic

I believe the lack of information is due to the fact that they truly haven't changed anything,it's a glorified roster update. That's why we never got a tech-test because it's the same as 23. The one thing and I honestly believe this is that they're trying to get as many pre-orders sold before they say that Sets & seasons is returning.

All I want is more stats in franchise mode. I've been asking for this for 10 years. Baseball is all about stats. I wanna see atleast top 10 leaderboards for ALL statistical categories (active and all-time). I want monthly splits. I wanna see top 10 per team categories. I wanna see past championship teams for every season. We've been able to do this in other sports games for literally 20 years!!!!! Also, we need stadium creator to add foul territory customization, signs/scoreboards/feet on walls, bullpen customization and overhangs would be nice....but PLEASE ADD MORE STATS!!!!!!! otherwise, this will be another year I continue to play mlb the show 2021

I remember when people swore by SDS being better than EA. This was just last year. How the tables have turned. SDS needs competition in the baseball universe.

Just give us more Franchise content. Control finances, get sponsorships for the field, etc etc

The lack of information and a tech test screams copy and paste for gameplay. It's almost like they have mailed in 24 to prepare for 25

RTTS needs a serious overhaul

If they're doing last year's system that offers 99s day one, I'm gonna sit this year out. Got burnt out quick last year, struggled my way to set 3 and gave up quick after that

All I want is FRANCHISE MODE improvements. For the love of God!

Played the Show franchise religiously from 16 up to last year. Last year was the first game I stopped playing after a month. Starting the game off with 99s made it hard to grind. Really wish they brought back online franchise, and completely just revamped it in general

Been playing MLB games from release to release since PS1. MLBtheSHOW23 was the first MLB game that i ever put down mid season - turned the game off in set 3 and never turned back on. First time I ever quit an MLB game since the 90s. Game is straight chalked. Sad.

Graphics are not the end all in video games. But in sports games they’re debatably more important than any other genre. The fact they insist on releasing on the ps4 whose hardware is such a significant gap just take a look at cyberpunk 2077..I don’t think we will ever get a mlb the show game that uses the ps5 hardware let alone pushes it to its max potential…2k needs to start branching out outside the nba series. Topspin 2k25 is a good start. But go back into MLB, NHL and NFL when they get the opportunity..Which would light a fire under these developers or they would fall into obscurity.

They put a lot of time and effort into story lines, cool... put that same time and effort into the gameplay that people complain about year after year

No trailer and being 3 weeks away from release is unacceptable. A very poorly managed process this has been on their end.

The silence on sets is scary. Attributes in the Jeter stream point towards no sets, but they could also just be bad cards

For me the most concerning thing is their silence on sets/seasons. That is deafening. They haven't said one word about if they'll be back, and given the negative reaction to sets, you'd think if they were getting rid of sets it would be one of the first things they said. I'm not preordering if sets are back.

I miss when they did those 2 hour streams each week having dedicated streams for each of the following: updated graphics, rtts, franchise, diamond dynasty. That would get me so hyped for the game because they talked about what's going on in the new game and also answered questions about the new game in the stream

It was only a matter of time. Yearly release kill developers especially for sports games. What the show needs is Sony to step in and fund SDS so they can hire a side team to work on future development for the game to help implement each idea slowly but surely. Sucks to see this happening to a game I been playing since ‘06 on the ps3.

they're going the madden route which is basically "we're the only officially licensed baseball game, youre going to buy it and we know it"

They need to have story telling in the road to the show they started it with the draft but ended it smh like have teammates talk to your players and stuff that would be mad cool even the coaches reporters

I am holding off until i see what DD looks like. They made that the best online fantasy team game in all the sports. For a couple years. They had me all in. This year, they seem like they are hiding things. Like they aren't proud of the product they are putting out other than the Storylines, which is a nice feature, just not a lot of going back to the game every day type of feature.

Main concern is 99s day 1. Made the game stale really quickly. Besides nobody wants to face 99 John Donaldson all year long again throwing 104 MPH

Here’s an idea. They work on making a season "dynasty franchise” where players pick the team they represent and build cards and stats by marginally improving them through a season. When you search for a game they focus on giving you an opponent and you play two 3 inning games to simulate a series. When you complete a 162+ games since you might have opponents quitting on you or vice versa, you see if you meet the minimum with threshold of wins (let’s say 55 percent win rate) to be pooled in a playoff series

My 3 concerns for this release: 1. Will shifts cease to exist in this game? 2. When will they ever rival MVP 2005 as far as classic stadiums? The Kingdome, really? 3. I hope animations change this season because all they do is change jerseys and game is literally the same.

Think it’s cool that they have the kingdom in this years game. Kinda wish they did that with classic stadiums like the old tigers stadium, Astro dome, Vet/three rivers, expo stadium and others.

I do like what we've seen so far. But I am very concerned with the lack of info. But as someone who plays mostly franchise and offline DD I've set my expectations low. Wen it was reported that old gen and next gen will be the same game told me there wasn’t gonna be nothing new. Old gen has literally hit its limits with reaching transcendent upgrades

I remember seeing that they were seeking someone out with experience in implementing battle passes. I sure hope they won't be as greedy as 2K is this year, if that plan came to fruition.

This is the first time I will definitely wait for a midseason sale and instead just play The Show 23 with a roster update instead. The Madden style of incremental updates is killing this game for me.

Last year was aweful. Passing this year sadly.

I've played every year since '07 on PS3. If there is nothing of significance to come out for RTTS or something else that is worth pre-ordering, then I'm out for this year. Fourth game on PS5 and no new engine at this point is a bit of a slap in the face and not using the capabilities of the now over three year old console.

A small detail that i think a lot of people didn't notice originally is that it looks like the player's hair will have physics now. After Vladdy hits the ball at 3:27, his hair goes with his motion. Curious to see if it will also be like this when players are running the bases or in the field or even with pitcher's on the mound with how much force they use behind each pitch. Seems like a cool edition for the players with longer hair

Ok. I’ve been playing 23 still cause I’m a more casual gamer and new to the series since I’m an Xboxer. Played TS years ago. And i only have 2 question: is there going to be the sweeper pitch? And are they going to fix the leveling system in RTTS? There’s too much of a penalty for not with a pitch, and not enough reward For putting the ball. Especially umpires movie making contact with non-strike. Also, I play as a power hitter, and I should not be penalized so much for not hitting a homerun

If ur player retires at the end of his career expand the rtts like put him on the field as a coach or manger have him on off days go to his house and such just like in madden or something along those lines

6 years later and I feel validated in not buying more every time I see SDS fail to progress the game. Updating the rosters does not make it a new game.

I don't even want to buy the game this year, but the lack of information on game in general is just shitty ass marketing

Every year about this time I get excited that the new Show is coming out. I have always been ready to start it up and play. I even close out any RTTS or Franchises I have been doing to get the old game out of my head, so I am ready for the new one. Well, at this point with knowing nothing other than Moments/Storyline, I am leaning at taking a year off. I still can continue the Franchise that I have going and if I get bored with that I can go play Gran Turismo 7. So unless they're waiting till that final week to get us all pump and show a revamp of all the other modes, other than Moments/Storyline, I’m out. Sad for SDS. I have to add, forget about us, the regular customer. When influencers aren't happy, well that should be a signal to them that sales will be bad. Insanity, doing the something over and over, expecting different results, sums it up for me.

Competition is everything in gaming. When EA Sports bought the NFL rights we saw Madden's quality drop. The NFL 2K Games were so much more fun to play maybe not more realistic but more fun. MLB the show is still great thank goodness but the lack of any competition is starting to show now

The only hope i have is theyre busy building a true Next Gen (this gen) engine for next year.

I feel like SDS is going the EA route, they have a monopoly on MLB games. Not technically but who else you gonna go to for MLB games? Gurantee they are gonna again put the best cards behind.a paywall with ridiculous odds.

They need to fix the shifts, add challenges, make it so we can have an expansion draft. Etc.

I think they're not too worried about getting the word out simply because it's really the only option to play if you want an MLB game on a console. I wouldn't be surprised if Franchise and RTTS weren't touched or barely touched. Offline modes seem to not matter anymore. Not when they have cash cows like Diamond Dynasty.

Absolutely love mlb the show games. Been creating classic rosters since this series has been a thing 15 + years or however long. Then not adding carry over rosters just sucks. Spend month on making rosters and we cant carry them over like we can logos and now stadiums. For the first time im actually considering not buying.

I pre- ordered, but only the standard addition PS5. I used to buy the big one, but i only play franchise. Its pathetic that they can hear us loud and clear about what changes and additions we'd like and choose to simply ignore it. I think the Negro leagues and the new Jeter thing coming out are great, but I mean holy freaking cow. The people that play Franchise and Rtts are who made this game as big as it is today. Give us what we want.

I am personally very excited for Jeter Storylines but I am biased as a yankee fan and I totally understand why the majority of customers aren't moved by it. If they are legitimately limited by what they can do because they still need to accommodate current gen consoles for one more year fine, I can be happy if they give us a legit impressive new legends class and add in more stadiums along with the kingdome. I am weirdly hopeful about gettng A-rod because how can u do 09 Yankees in storylines without him, and they are hinting at more legends to come along in his storyline. However, I'm skeptical there is more going on behind the scenes they aren't telling us because it seems odd to me that they didn't add the Kingdome when Griffey was on the cover but now they do just for Jeter's first hit moment? seems off, and maybe I'm just holding out hope but it feels like theres gonna be a big reveal that will make this lack of information make more sense

Maybe the only reason why the jeter was a year later was because they wanted to add they could not add the new legends with them then? Also them spending an hour on it was not necessary.
