Creating a big connected open world was their intention indeed. I remember watching AC4 trailers and interviews in 2012-2013, and devs had already been marketing AC as a huge world without loadscreens since that time. So, yeah, they had always been boasting about and wanting it until they made it in Origins

As a former obsessive New England Revolutionary History fan, I wanted to love this game, but I just could NOT get past the intro. It's so long and drawn out and keeps the story from taking off. That said, I never got to see the region map before now. Why the hell did they put NY N/NE above MA? I could understand N/NW, but I mean... wut?

Trust me, you’d love the game past the intro. A lot of the AC games usually have a bit of a slow start until it kicks into high gear, like AC2, AC3, AC4, and AC Unity.

@@dripsnake44 I beat Black Flag, Rogue, and Syndicate. Got through most of Unity and Valhalla. I just could not get past about the three hour mark on III. I tried a couple of different times. Sucks, because the American Colonial period is my favorite point in history. Rogue was amazing in that regard.
