We Need To Talk About Verlisify 

The Pokemon Community deserves better too, but note that I say this with love and passion for the same things Verlisify and I enjoy, but it is time to call the shots and it's time we handle thigns differently for everyone to enjoy and appreciate the Pokemon franchise. What do you think of that?

I love that you caught on to the fact that Verlis uses the term objective all the time to make his arguments seem entirely factual. Although I don't think he really knows what that word even means because he uses it constantly where what he is speaking about is clearly a subjective opinion.

How Verlisify is STILL on RU-vid after almost 10 years of being called out by many people both in and outside the Pokemon community for lying, slandering, hypocrisy, etc. is beyond me.

versify is proof RU-vid should not have made dislikes hidden lmao. hes free to push his narrative that everybody is toxic (ironic) and everybody is stupid for liking the game and just have fun. also if you have commented on his videos calling him out you're 100% shadow banned from commenting on his channel. comment on his pinned comment and load up his video on private browser not logged into RU-vid and your comment wont show at all.

Verlisify is a troll and a joke to the Pokemon community,He deserves the hate that's coming to this troll and his fans. We as the Pokemon community needs to band together! Verlisify is a hypocrite and narcissist. Pokemon Legends Arceus is basically the best pokemon game ever made! Sword and Shield is the worst in my opinion.

On top of Pokémon, Verlisify has also earned a bad reputation in the Animal Crossing community. He’s streamed himself maliciously reporting other players’ Dream Islands just because they used hacking to decorate their towns with special items.

Verlisify has caused so much drama, negativity, and toxicity throughout his "RU-vid career", you could make an hour long documentary video about it.

I think it goes deeper than just random hate from Verlis, he's been like this for over 7+years, definitely shows signs of narcissism & egotism. 7 years! Of him being miserable over everything, dude needs to put down the internet & go outside to touch some grass.

My advice to you is that don't let him get into your head, completely ignore him and don't give him any sort of attention whatsoever - he's just a minor. Let him be as toxic and bitter as much as he wants, that's what he is. We are all entitled to our opinions about the game, but as long as we enjoy the game because how fun it is, who cares about what he says otherwise. At the end of the day, he's outnumbered by those who loves the game so much. Plus, whatever he says doesn't hold water cos one day he said this, the next day he says something completely the opposite. Just let him be if he's so passionate about it. He don't matter.

It's a shame that larger poketuber don't seem to care about calling out the blatant toxicity of Verlisify. I've only seen smaller creators call him out.

Let me just say this no game is ever perfect. Just because people enjoyed the game and have different opinions doesn’t mean that verlisify should go attack people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I love Pokémon and I have since I was really little.

I’ll at least give Verlisify that SWSH & BDSP may be better games if you’re *ONLY* into Pokémon for competitive battling & the metagame, but Legends is still better overall & everything else is clearly just meant for him to gain clout & money. The only reason I don’t think that many people call him out is because it’s pointless. Most people who I see do call him out for his actions just become the next subject for his next video where he paints them as the bad guy, & then he doubles down on his opinions as if they’re law or something

I feel embarrassed to be a Pokemon fan because of him even though I had fun with Legends Arceus I've experienced so many other RPGs that I took a long hiatus break with the series after Sword and Shield. I'm glad more people like you are addressing this. Verlisify is an example of a person who refuses to change or can't cope with any criticism the best word I can describe Verlisify is that he's a bully a toxic one at that. After this stuff I'm taking another break with Pokemon again but I still love this series no matter what and I'm excited to see what future games would be like. Verlisify is the reason why the community is so divided

I agree wholeheartedly. He even hated Sword and Shield over the fact that so many genners were making and distributing shinies incessantly. I could care less but to bash a twitter post? I mean everyone has their opinions. He calls everyone an idiot when in actuality, he should be filing his complaints to the game creators. If there are so many loose ends, why not take them up with the people creating the games? They are the ones who leave the index of suspicion and mystery. They are the ones who don’t send out a manual with games telling you how to play it or what to expect, and it’s because The creators want that Suspicion in mystery. They want you to come creative. What they don’t intend, is for some self-centered jerk to think that his complaints are the only ones that matter.

It's fine if Verlisify doesn't like the game. I mean he has the rights to like or dislike a game. But he really needs to stop talking about the game he doesn't like, criticizing anyone that likes the game, or forcing anyone to hate the game. I used to subscribe Verlisify before, but after seeing his toxicity (where I caught him calling someone an idiot or stupid in the comments even tho the person that made a comment never said anything bad about him.), It was enough for me to unsubscribe. He really needs to grow up. Btw I see Pokémon Sword and Shield a good game in my opinion, but it's not perfect. I understand how upsetting it is when half of the Natural Dex was reduced to atom in the game (my poor Oshawott isn't in Sword and Shield 😥), no Mega Evolution or Z moves. And this Dynamax idea is kinda weird. But at the end, I did enjoy it.

In one 5 minute video, he manages to fit in terms like “fake, dishonest, narrative, mass delusion, exploitation, grifter” and more…. all in response to two tweets comparing the new Arcanine to the original beta designs. He treats this stuff like a political debate and uses the most reactionary language I’ve ever seen.

Arceus definitely has a lot of flaws, such as to me it feels just a little empty. Yes it’s filled with Pokémon and references to other games, but I just imagined some ruin here and there and possibly completely open world. But other than that it is definitely one of my favorite Pokémon games

The real problem imo isn't really the games themselves but what your expectations are. If u hope you will get a new pokemon game and you will fell again like 10yr old its very likely it wont happen.. with so many pokemon games its impossible for the next one to always beat the previous, or they are going to be aspects removed or added that you dont like but maybe someone else does like. for example my favourite games were soulsilver and omega ruby but that is just me based on what i have played. Before you buy a game everyone should consider what your expectations or needs are. If for example you look for a game with many many pokemon, or one that is hard to beat you should buy or stick to one with these elements, unless you are happy overall with new releases. Also games can not be perfect please accept that. i played red/blue/yellow and absolutely disliked the graphics(back to 1998) but the game was absolutely magnificent for its time. for example i do like extremely hard pokemon games like these were, but most people do not share that idea.. you get what i am saying you want another example? take WoW as one, a lot of people are simply quitting, just because someone famous said so, or simply their expectations again are all over the roof. and yes i did play in shadowlands at the maximum level end game. yea ok i got bored too, but has nothing to do with the game..i wont go out and say wow sucks because i got bored to play anymore or because i dont have my double legendaries and artifact weapon anymore... Also all of us have to comprehend that such games in order to survive and long last need to change things occasionally, and changes is a risky thing. sometimes it may not work indeed...but atleast respect their try, if it was honest and there was a lot of work. In case you havent noticed their pattern now is like this(pokemon reffering) remake,new,remake,new just to try to please more people and get more sales. if u dont like remakes in general sure dont buy them if u dont like new mechanincs or ideas sure let them be and stick to what you enjoy, but these developers HAVE to take that risk of the change either you like the results or not. to make it even more simple imagine if pokemon company decided back then that -hey these are the 151 loved pokemon, lets stick to them and simply change storylines-there is no way people will love somehting more thatn pikachu or whatever. take a look at greninja,solagaleo, mega evolutions...whatever, you name it. they did change, they did adapt grew and improved, thats why they are number one

He loves sword and shield because he is wants the same exact game to be copy and pasted; any change is bad in his eyes. Legends arceus looks hideous and is flawed but it has a lot to appreciate imo.

But hey for all we know, he might be doing this just cause it works on YT. But again, I don't know them or even watched their content and I won't so I can't really say much more than "may you be blessed by the positive light" hahha

He's the biggest grifter in the community, and all he cares about is creating drama and stoking the flames of division. Big props for making this video.

Okay, I will fully admit that when it came to SWSH, I actually agreed with Verlisify for the most part. But now that I've seen and played PLA, my opinions have changed. PLA is clearly doing something entirely different and moving the series forward. I do not understand his logic when it comes to the game, and many of his points are completely baseless. Beyond that however, I've seen him do certain things that I don't agree with such as his needless insult toward adrive. For that reason, I've since unsubscribed from his channel. The man spouts more noise out his mouth than facts. All for the sake of clout and clicks.

I think he is doubling down on saying legends is the worst because he doesn’t want to admit his predictions were wrong.

I use to like Verlisfy so long ago but now it’s just it’s annoying how he bashes the community when they don’t agree with his ideals.

I think someone like Verlisify is best ignored let him say what he wants because let's face it the online people who listen to Verlisify are his sheep. I've reported Verlisify's videos for being Hateful but RU-vid never did anything hell the video where he falsely accused another youtuber of being a Pedo is still up. It's not only the Pokemon Community that hates him either the Animal Crossing Community hate him too after that little which hunt he went on where people were just having some fun and modding Animal Crossing.

I actually really like SW/SH. Thought the designes were really neat ( for example appletun) and I liked the gmax mechanic. Also liked the Region and characters and especially the soundtrack. Always a shame to hear people bash it. Of course it has its issues but so does every other gen imo.

one point verlisify makes that i havent seen disputed is when the creator of PKHEX called out almost all top players genning most famously wolfey (wich i do and dont consider cheating but can see why people get upset). does anyone have a dispute? because i think he was trying to get them to admit to genning mons wich no one did nor did they mention Kurt, creator of PKHEX

1. I think Sw/Sh is the best of the 3DS era of games. It has the depth and complexity, but it also has the quality of life and a taste of the "open world". It also looks better than Legends Arceus, and has a more robust endgame. So for me it gives just the right amount of old and new. 2. While I do think Legends Arceus is a total revamp of the formula, and i enjoyed it a lot, it felt very empty, lacking, and barebones. Filling out the pokedex gets old fast, the lack of any meaningful online hurts, the combat system is done better in Bravely Default, basic functions like fast travel and quest tracking are done poorly, the world and the pokemon which inhabit it feel like it was made by a mod team, very little trainer battles and no gyms whatsoever. Etc etc. I don't want to seem like I'm defending Verlis, but Legends Arceus is definitely flawed in a lot of ways (in more ways than Sw/Sh imo). 3. Cheating is definitely a problem in Pokemon, and I feel like Verlis is the only one who actually highlights it, and gives it attention. He gets an unfair amount of hate for calling out cheaters in the Pokemon community, most likely because alot of people use PkHex themselves.

I remember one of his videos where he basically said that LITERALLY every poketuber Is a toxic person and has had controversy In some way, for example he said TyranitarTube used to clickbait his videos years ago and should be a reason to hate him now, even though Thamil Is against clickbait now. On the same video I left a comment saying how Randolph (who you may not know but essentially he only does pack openings on his Pokémon channel and Is friends with KSI and Sidemen) Is basically a good guy In the Pokémon community, and then Verlisify replied back not long after saying "anyone In the Pokémon TCG Is shady" which Is kinda a stupid thing to say seen as there's millions of people who play It I believe. Yeah at the end of the day Verlis Is Just a twat looking for attention and strangely people give It to him - Im not so sure he Is the sole reason why the community Is the way It Is now, awhile back there was some disgusting truths revealed by victims of several big poketubers at the time, which might have caused the community to be like It Is today. I watched a few of Verlisifys Pokémon showcase videos a few years ago when I wanted to learn how good a Pokémon was In vgc and they were actually pretty good, If he Just did that then people might forgive him but alas that's not gonna be the case - I think Its best to Ignore him If you're In this community as a lot of the other bigger channels do.

The way he deletes the comments and the only remaining comments that make it through his filter are those of obvious children... it's kind of disgusting. I love TloU2 and consider it one of my favorite narratives ever experienced together with the first game (sad story =/= bad story IMHO, and I honestly believe the themes to have significantly more substance than people make it out to be, but again, MY opinion), but I'm not going to say I'm "objectively right" and say you're everything wrong with gaming for disagreeing lmao. I hope he figures himself out before his youtube channel becomes unsustainable, because he's going to need a conventional job soon and I just don't see him doing well in that kind of setting at all.

Honestly..Verlisify is the unfilterd personification of the Pokémon community. Games most people bash but still controversial titles make big bank. People openly genning Pokémon in official tournaments in plain view even in front of officials. Completely disagree about his takes on Legends Arceus but a broken clock is right at least twice. Hes slightly more right than that and people are tired one way or another.

It’s funny because i watched videos of his, mainly for Pokémon move sets. But after seeing how he just addresses Pokémon games and the community negatively, is a real shame. We all play the games and have opinions but no one doesn’t need to hear “y’all are idiots”constantly. Pokémon keeps improving even with flaws.

Kinda late but i saw his video now when gen 9 came out he was ommggg this is the best game ever and now he is "nothing can save gen 9 " he was like this with every game (he just supports the game in the beggining for the views and then he starts hating it)

I agree with Verlisify when it comes to the cheating and hacking like when I battle I know for a fact every Pokémon I have and battle with has been bread, ev and Iv trained by me with hours of gameplay and it is quite irritating to see someone beat me with a team full of hacked shiny Pokémon I know they didn’t put in the work, time , and effort and it’s quite discouraging to play when you know others are just gonna get everything they need and want with hacks while others basically scavange and struggle.

The problem with the Pokemon community is they can't take criticisms and are not open minded to other people's opinions. I have made simple opinions about the trailers for Pokemon Arceus and got constant hate by people defending the games who then later complain themselves about the same things once the games came out. I also made comments about BDSP too and was met with tons of negativity when all I did was state my opinion about a lack luster effort in the game. I even had proof on my side but they didn't want to open themselves up for a mature discussion. This is one reason why I moved out of this community long ago. A big comparison I make is with the Monster Hunter community I have been apart of. When I talk about things, both good and bad in the monster hunter community, they are super open minded and welcome opinions of others.

Even talking about this is part of the problem. This is exactly what he wants. You are just giving him a valid voice. A couple of years ago I decided to block his channel and notifications, cause that type of toxic content throwing garbage to others such as Pimpnite, Wolfey, etc, was completely unpleasant just by watching the title. What he needs is to be ignored!

As a community, y'all need the band together to stop people from making content on him. All content and all intention is good intention on these platforms. It doesn't matter if it's bad or good and every with so many pokey tubers arguing with this one ignorant person it's making a lot of people pay attention to his videos. Do not give that man the time and day, he is a troll and has all trolls do they feed off of attention and you're just giving him free advertisement on your platform. Don't do that, let him fall into the wayside and be another nameless and faceless internet troll to be wiped out as people move forward once they get past his current videos. He's just doing well now because Pokemon Arceus is a trending topic right now and all everyone doing by addressing his video and his review is giving him the attention he seeks. In sending thousands of people to go and see his meaningless review because he didn't even actually play through the game.

One thing that annoyed me with Verlisify is that in Animal Crossing New Horizons, he went on a tyraid and rampage banning the Dream Addresses of villages that had anything LGBT in them, just mass reporting and nuking islands if he didn’t like the town flags and stuff for a couple weeks straight when the game was somewhat new. I don’t understand why that even remotely concerns him, but it’s still a pretty mean thing to do. In any case, Verlisify is a grifter, plain and simple. He’ll say anything to get clicks and views. Any opinion that comes off as outlandish, in tandem with a thumbnail where he says something that not many people agree with or like, that’s an easy way to get people to click it, and then the video gets pushed in the algorithm. Say what you want about the guy, cuz I don’t like him either, but what he’s doing even if it’s a f’d up thing to do, it gets views, and encourages people to talk about him, even with contempt. It’s a sound business strategy. Ignoring him completely would be the right thing to do, but as it’s obvious, there are some people he’s inspired who truly share his faked mind-sight. He’ll always have an audience of kids and teenagers who believe everything he says, take it at face value, and they’ll always click his videos cuz they genuinely like him. In that sense, he can be likened to acne. You shouldn’t scratch it, just ignore it, and with time, it might fade into obscurity.

I really wish Pokémon legends was a multiplayer game that you could posssibly explore the region with a friend or two and possibly hunt Pokémon or shinies might be a reach but it would feel less lonely playing the game

I saw him back in the day when sword and shield trailer for galar linoone. Than obstagoon was announced and he started crying and saying:"tHeY CanNOt dO tHIs To my BoY, HOw cOuLd THeY rUIn hIM LiKE ThAt" it is such a loser

I will say that I do like Sobble and Eiscue from Sword and Shield version. My first game I played as a child was silver version on Gameboy Color. So what I am saying, is yes, Legends expands on the previous games and enhances them in a whole new way then ever before. I especially love the inclusion of gen 2 pokemon in the game and I love Cyndaquils new form.

I decided to try and watch one of his videos to at least see where he was coming from. The newest one, called "An Observation" or something like that. After that, I genuinely believe that he is delusional, or a narcissist, or something like that. He genuinely believes he is always right and that everyone around him is in the wrong (he literally says this in slightly different words). Honestly it's scary.

Legends Arceus has its flaws for sure. Graphically, it could use a lot of work. Overall, it’s an extremely fun game and I’m having a blast despite its problems.

In my opinion sword and Shield isn’t a great game to be honest, it’s an okay game to play but other than that. I don’t think it was that great of a game, they were still major problem and argument about SWSH. About the game playing and move graphic, Verlisify does have a right to his opinion. But I think he’s just doing it wrong way, none of his problems complaint of PLA. Made any sense whatsoever, I just think he does hate PLA. Because isn’t his tea and his liking, that’s just fine. But he doesn’t have to continue and shove his opinion down everyone throat. I think it’s the best if we don’t give him any attention, because that’s what he wants and that’s what he drives.

Lets see how long it takes for Verlisify to fire back. Cause we darn well know he will. He lives for drama

As a pokemon fan from the original red and blue i must say legends revived my passion for the francise that sword and shield killed. Am happy for this breath of fresh air.

It's one thing to make content of something you don't like; it can work if it's a genuine, constructive criticism, y'know: saying WHY you don't like something, and perhaps maybe HOW you'd like to see it fixed, but it's another thing ENTIRELY to go "lol thing bad" and then just try and make it seem like objective FACT, *especially* if you don't even decide to FINISH the damn thing, and then bash OTHERS for no real reason other than their OWN opinions on it?? Well i will both have to agree and disagree on your opinion on Gen 8 as a whole for all of its main line titles since the only thing that made me NOT want to finished or bother buying its titles is the dialogue since there is WAY too much of that in all titles which made me lose to play the core titles for that Gen and it may be the case for Scarlet and Violet, IF it does have to much dialogue like Gen 8, i mean the gameplay i do love and i dont mind about either graphics or animation of the games, BUT when it comes to too much talking in the whole game, thats when i lose my excitement of a game.

I actually stumbled upon a video from Verlisify and thought he actually caught cheaters but then I searched "Who is Wolfe Glick" and now I went down this rabbit hole where I probably end up hating him. Have to finish the tea tomorrow.

I will never understand Veri's opinions on things, look i enjoyed SWSH i know their problems, but i enjoyed the games, same with S/M and USUM which is fine. But given how Veri was when it was first announced already demeaning bad just from the trailer alone. I think his problem? which i know a few in the comments have said? is he reads leaks and rumors hypes himself up and if its not the best he tries to play it off as "hey its like the rumors" which to me isn't healthy.

Tbh Verlisify is not wrong about the Pokémon community. It's full of cheaters and people who use hacked pokémon at official competitions. You can disagree with him about his opinions on the games, but there's not debate on why the pokemon community sucks.

For some reason I don’t get Verlisify’s opinion about Pokémon Legends Arceus is because I think the game is so much better than the crappie Sword and Shield which is the previous generation of Pokémon and yes I don’t hate Gen 8 by any means. I just have mixed feelings about Sword and Shield is because I really had high expectations before the game came out but at the end of the day I think Gen 8 is alright. I have a feeling that Verlisify has unpopular Pokemon opinions like he likes Sword and Shield way better than Pokémon Legends Arceus which is not true in my opinion because I think it was nice that we have a Pokémon game that happened in the past before Sinnoh was made I believe. Man Pokémon Legends Arceus is just a really good Pokémon game to play in general especially if you haven’t played it before.

He falsely accused a RU-vidr of abuse towards their ex-wife 2 years ago when it wasn't even his business regardless of whichever party was wrong.

I saw this guy responding to someone saying the dislikes om his video via extension. And he jusz said it isnt possibel and called the guy a looser .thats just mad cringe imagine being wrong so confindently and then insulting someone whos not even hating on you.thats just mad crazy

To be fair, he is still around because he is producing good content. He gets a lot of hate because he points out that all the non-Japanese top VGC players are cheating and backs it up with evidence and calling out officials for knowing that people are cheating and asking them to be less obvious about it. His builds are usually solid and his news updates are from credible sources. He calls out "leakers" who use deceptive tactics to make it seem like they are accurate when really they are just guessing a bunch of stuff or pointing out info that has already been released as though it were leaked. His complaints about PLA were mainly around the fact that he kept getting interrupted and couldn't actually play the game and that the game's lore breaks with already established lore. He has videos pointing out a lot of those. There is also the fact that for an open environment game it uses only the most bare bone of mechanics. Combine that with the fact that there is no multiplayer killing the end game and it leaves little motivation to stick it out to the end if you aren't having fun. I actually liked S&S. It was a blast to play and with the DLC it made it so I could finally have my pokemon I brought with me be useable in the PVP post game. It was nice. A few hours of game play and I could create a legit team. Yeah not all pokemon were available but that didn't bother me because I didn't have a massive back log because I didn't have the various gameboys for gens 3-7. I also got it at launch so Home wasn't out yet so nobody could use the pokemon that weren't in the game anyway. They also had a pretty massive dex at the end. Having a way to stay competitive against cheaters while not having to invest massive amounts of time was great. I hope they keep the quality of life changes from S&S+DLC in the upcoming games.

One of the many things i hate about verlisify is that he sticks his nose where it doesnt belong.. Pokemon related or not, iirc he called out Lockstin over a pokemon theory.. Like this dude will find any excuse to make drama.

I always thought to myself should I or should I not participate in Pokemon tournaments cause of the way he exposes Pokemon cheaters but the more I think about it, I realize that he was the reason why I kept thinking these things… and I got no one to blame but myself… 😞

And doing this videos about him, you only give him/her what they want attention, either good or bad, the best action, is to ignore and 💩 on them, don't feed their narcissism.

I mean I agree with everything you have stated, however Verlisify is hardly to blame for the state of the Pokémon community and why it sucks. The guy is ultimately a pretty irrelevant obscure Pokémon RU-vidr who has very distinctive takes on things. For the most part, he has no larger impact on the fundemental Pokémon community. I blame the toxicity of the Pokémon community - which arises from GameFreak messing up so many times in games such as Sword and Shield (before Legends: Arceus) - rather than Verlisify making bad takes. It screams *scapegoat* when you blame all the ills of the Pokémon community on one guy who owns a tiny RU-vid channel. Regardless, I really enjoyed this video and agree with you that Verlisify needs to change. I find his content entertaining for news and his unique commentary - however I disagree with most of his takes and find him to be a very toxic person. I just think it's important to address your statements in a mature, critical manner.

What we really need to do is stop giving Verlisify any attention whatsoever. It's what he wants.

Thank you for calling him out. I watched his video hours after the game out. I almost, almost didn't buy it based on that but I am so glad I bought it.

He's one of the few who are responsible for the decline of the fanbase. Gireum is another one who coined the "cutting corners" argument that people repeat ad nauseum and he's negative despite playing the games to completion so I guess he's more honest. I'm just tired of fickle fans making shit up to make the games look worse than they are (how can people hate BDSP so much?!)

I agree with you on much of what you said. I have disagreed with a lot of Verlisify's opinions for a long time, much of which has to do with how he presents his subjective reflections as being more objective than they really are. But here's the problem: Verlisify has 400k+ subs, showing that there's a high likelihood that a lot of people in the Pkmn community like and/or agree with his opinions. And there have been a few times he has presented a controversial or antithetical or even negative opinion or review about something in the games that have made me rethink some of my own opinions. A broken clock is right twice a day, so yes, sometimes he has an insight that is honestly fascinating but most of the time it's whiny, toxic, and self-entitled.

To be fair liking or not liking a game is just opinion based arguments. Nothing is fact. Also, I don’t think you can even compare SW&SH to Legends is like comparing apples to bananas. Sure their both fruit, but that’s all they have in common.
