I realized that in today’s era, centers need to be the point guards of the game imo 🤔 I mean look at Jokic, he sees the floor well. AD passing dimes is what Jokic has been doing as well. If there’s no one to pass to, you can either shoot or go hard to the basket, and I think that’s the recipe to success.

In order to do this that center needs to be able to score from the high post, make the correct read from that position and be able to make thee correct passes. That's only possible if that player has the fundamentals to do so. There are not many centers who can and it's not a coincidence that it's usually European centers as they have a different development focussed on fundamentals and team basketball in comparison to the aau system where young players focus more on iso scoring and becoming a 5 star recruit against inferior opponents (European youth play in the euroleague against grown up professionals)

You brought it up in the video, but i wanna reiterate. Another under appreciated thing with JJ is he released Austin Reaves (AR 15) and gave him the real greenlight. Also, im sure he told Russell to play wayy better this season. Then on top of that making sure you sub in Christie and Knecht at the perfect times. (2 lowkey Ex factors). This Lakers squad is dangerous again. Love it.

Lakers fans have memories of goldfish, they have been doing this come out strong while James has gas then they crumble apart like the dumpster fire they are once their oldass roster gets a month or two into the season then wheezing at the end to stay relevant for the play in tournament since they are built around using old man james for 35+ min a night to survive.
