The insane part of Eevees strategy at 14:27 is that realistically if he always goes for the most money he wins because everyone else knows he's gonna go for that which means they'll both lose. So for everyone else it's either get nothing (go for the highest amount) or go for something lesser
The problem is that if he is falling behind after one person messed with him on accident or purpose, the person who's now ahead can go purposefully block him because he is being predictable. ... So he tried to vary his strategy and it failed him in the end. Poetic.
@@Heriarkait SHOULD have worked, but brent went for the five coins for some reason. he was so far behind even if he GOT the 5 coins he wouldnt be anywhere close to winning. his only hope was going for the middle, which could have worked in his favor, and that would have left eevee with the five coins, securing his dub. i will never understand brents logic for going for the five, that would not have worked in his favor in any timeline. Edit: for someone who is supposed to be the “optimal” one, that was the least optimal play ive ever seen
This strategy is one of those straightforward "high risk, high reward" strategies, where everybody knows Eevee's gonna gun for the highest possible amount of coins in his area, so either a.) Someone has to take the L and make him and either Brent, Nick or Vern lose out on cash or b.) Essentially Sophist gets his way and gets a lot of cash out of it. It's a decent, if rickety strategy to say the least if you're gonna announce to everyone; "yo i'm gonna collect the highest amount of cash in my general area."
