We played Ben Clarke and Mati Perrone at Gatwick Footgolf! Who should we play next? Follow us @fiftyfiftysoccer Follow Ben: RU-vid: @benclarkefootgolf1073 Instagram: benclarke_ukfg Follow Mati: RU-vid: @mjperrone Instagram: @mjperrone
Holy crap, i watched the whole video and was extremely entertained and then i realised they only have 324 subscribers!!! With this type of content I wouldve expected at least 50k. Keep it up guys!
It may look easy but, if you think it actually is, you have never played. These guys all played well. I've seen professional footballers play this game and they weren't all that straight off.
Really enjoyed this ! I play footgolf a couple times a year with a large group of mates and didn't actually know it was a proper sport 😂 would love to get into it as a sport ! Subbed
Never played this but this seriously looks awesome. As a new footballer and someone who has played golf a bit, I don’t think I’d be terrible and I really wanna try this.
Yep! A World #1 and a World Champion. It's a fun RU-vid video, not a tournament. Check out their highlights and you'll see them in competition mode - a whole different level.
The comments on here are ridiculous. I've played that course regularly, it's both more difficult than it looks and the pros are also much better than the commenters are assuming they are.
First time viewer. I imagine there are players out there than can reach the greens on the par 4's or am I crazy? Maybe it's the angle but it seems like the "tee" shots aren't going very far.
The camera makes it seem not far! We can assure that is way more difficult than it looks on camera. These guys, especially when playing on tour and not on a RU-vid channel for fun, absolutely full send the ball. Pretty damn impressive how far they can kick.
When Tshabalala scored that amazing goal for South Africa in the 2010 World Cup! Couldn’t be more proud being a South African 🇿🇦. Jabulani means rejoice in Zulu and we all did after that goal!
I've never played this sport, but played football and play golf. I admit that as a simple watcher it looks probably easier than it is in real life. So I understand the comments of people feeling bold and claiming that they could do better (they closed with a -9, remember it). The rules are probably making it look even easier, you just take the best shot and have 2 tries.
Hey, this was randomly on recommended, never played or watched footgolf before- They seem like top guys and clearly both know and have developed a lot of strategy in the game, and they do clearly have good feel for distance on the approach but if this is the best in the world standard, i think footgolf has a long way to develop as a sport. It may be over pretention to say but i stopped playing football 6 years ago to focus on work, was a midfielder with good range of passing, playing at good amateur standard and genuinely think that given a few rounds i'd be competing with these guys, especially on the drives. it looks like maybe a safe choice to do this but they were both kicking pretty weak in distance and some fo the wayward tee shots were actually amusingly poor . They were always putting shape on drives that clearly would've been better off with a straight, longer drive suggesting neither of them seem capable of the technique required for cutting through the ball to drive it far and straight? I think i'd be taking less shots to get to the green on several of these holes honestly. Do you know the standard of football they played at before playing footgolf? Edit: Just realised they are wearing gatwick footgolf gear as well, so this is their home course/ workplace? Yeah, i'm pretty sure that given a week of practice, any even decent amateur standard footballer would be wiping the floor with these guys. Get yourselves a league-standard player with even a hand-full of rounds practice and they'd be embarrassing them.
Mate I get what you are saying but at the same time the grass on the course is different from the type you and I would play on. For the fairway and green the grass is very short and thus the ball carries quite a bit further and there are lots of divets in the course that a normal football pitch does not have. I have played footgolf before and I can tell you it is definitely one of those it looks easier than it actually is type of sports.
Sweet! Want to play your first round on camera with us to see if that's true? Drop us your city! We're planning some trips and we'll fly to you to play a round. Cheers!
What the hell is wrong with all the haters in the comments? Apparently every commenter is some kind of secret footgolf champion, who knew? 🤷Weird why they aren't getting out on the course and beating some course records and collecting some trophies and prize money instead of writing comments how they would be so much better.
You have to realise football is the most popular sport in the world, a lot of people have played it at semi pro level, and it's easy to spot that they use only one type of shot, and that their foot placements when kicking the ball are not ideal, that's why a lot of the people are saying they could do better, because a lot of the people probably could
People who have not tried this IRL don't seem to realize how hard it is to anticipate how the ball bounces and rolls on an uneven surface. Too bad the video doesn't tell how long these holes are.
I mean tbh just watching the way they kick the ball, they were never good at football/ soccer. A highschool player can ping the ball further and with more accuracy than these guys do
@@paulbiller4071 Yeah we'd love to film with some big names. I think the most important thing people are missing here is that these are the two best players in the world playing for a RU-vid channel, not a tournament. They're just having some fun. We were around when they were doing some serious rounds and preparation and it was a whole different level. Just like a pro soccer player isn't going to go as hard for a silly RU-vid penalty challenge.
@@fiftyfiftysoccer how much do you want? Will depend on level of pro player. I will do £100 for premier league, £50 for championship, £20 for anything below, but must be legitimate professional.
I respect the skill getting it to the green! But the "putting" is a joke, holrs need to be at least 25% smaller, my 6 year old could tap one in them from 8 feet
Compared to a normal pro course, yeah, it's shorter, but still technically difficult. They're also saving their legs in this video because they had tournaments after this.
I've never played, but I don't see anyone chipping or hitting the ball like a far pass, everyone wants to curve it, on the 3rd I think it was I would've hit it with the trivela pass, me and my boy Jorge would smash all 4 guys!!!
I think if anyone half decent played this it would be an easy win agasint "the best in the world" but theres not enough intrest for this kind of stuff with actual decent footballers! Thats my take anyway
It's much harder than it looks! We're working on getting some pro players on the channel so we can see how they do. There are a couple of videos out there and they do alright but lack the technical skill when it comes to approach shots, putts, reading the green, etc. Will be fun to see how it all plays out!
I genuinely have to ask if these are really the two best footgolfers in the world because one of them has a kicking technique that leaves a lot to be desired I thought they were bad off the 1st tee but the guy on the 2nd tee barely got the ball past the litter bin. The fact that you drew with the best 2 in the world also cast doubts about the level of competition. Perhaps 'We played the only 2 footgolfers in the world' would be a more accurate title?
Yep, they're the best in the world! Also, you have to remember this a fun video with some RU-vidrs, not a real tournament where they're going all out. Check out some of their tournament highlights and you'll start to understand their incredible skill level a bit more. Cheers!
I've been lucky to play this sport from a fairly young age thanks to there being a course 20 mins from my childhood home. People used to despise me for enjoying this on a Sunday, instead of playing 11's. 😅
Footgolf is a very different sport than soccer/football. Ben held the World #1 ranking for a while and Mati has won the World Championship, so we’d say they play at a pretty decent level 🤷
@@fiftyfiftysoccer I know it’s different I play both….that wasn’t my point. My point was the poor ball striking. As I said, Ben was the only one who drills the ball properly with his balance & weight correctly channelled to the strike. I played div 3 footy & was a pga golfer for 7 years. I have skin in this game 👍
Fair enough! There were definitely some weak shots in the round. But Mati is literally a footgolf world champion, so he’s got the good stuff. We’ll fly to you if you want to play a round on the channel - let us know!
I think it's a matter of perspective tbh. Looks like they ain't hitting the ball far, but first of all that's not always the point, secondly they probably hit farther than you even with your supposed ball striking expertise.
Is this like paid well enough to be your only job or is this just a hobby for them? From what I can see there would be better players if this was finacially more attractive sport. I am not saying its easy, they are very good, but there is no doubt I’ve seen better ballers.
These guys play full time. You also have to remember that this was a fun video shot for RU-vid, not a tournament. The sport is not easy and they are on a whole different level.
Good ball = good pass. You wouldn’t really say good ball in these scenarios because they’re not passing to anyone. You’d say ‘good hit’ or ‘good strike’
