I remember playing this as a kid, the zombie mode was very fun for me. Brings me back to the 2008 days where every online game company was trying to make the next best shooter.
as a cso player myself, yes i admit the game is really cringe and p2w, but at least it can still be played with my old 300 USD laptop, and the community still active even though the player base is shrinking, and the dev and mod still doing their job communicating with the player
@@kaanyandhi4105 not even csnz anymore its now csns, they don't even focus on the zombies modes anymore lol they were making cso2 for a while but it died cause people just didnt want to leave csns cause they spent a lot of money on skins, it should've pulled a cs2 where skins transferred over
7:08 I disagree. If you want a serious game, you get to play literally every mainline counter-strike. This is just fun to see what could happen if you let the community decide what to do with it. I think it's good that we have that option.
Honestly, it was incredible fun a few years ago when it wasn't so bloated. You had regular cs, community stuff/mods and a lot of zombies mods, which i especially loved.

There's a pretty complicated background to how this weird abomination came out. First of all, you have to understand the history of Korean PC cafes in order to know why they played CSO instead of the original CS in Korea in the first place. At that time, PC cafes were providing services by purchasing several game packages and lending them to customers for a while. However, when Valve launched Steam and announced that it would charge about 15 cents for every hour of CS play at PC cafes, PC cafe owners who had already purchased packages launched a massive boycott of Counterstrike, which almost completely loses CS's market influence in Korea. Since then, numerous CS clones have appeared in Korea to occupy the Tactical FPS market that CS occupied. Among them, Nexon's competitor Netmarble's Sudden Attack was a great success, and Nexon also needed a title to counter it. In the past, Nexon was in charge of distributing Half Life to Korea, so it had a relationship with Valve. With this connection, Nexon purchased the rights of CS from Valve and made CSO. I don't know why it was developed based on 1.6 and CZ in 2007, three years after the CSS was already released, but it seems that they wanted more player bases through low specs, similar to the strategy Valorant took. However, Nexon's CSO was not established in the market because most of the Tactical FPS market was already dominated by Sudden Attack, and those People who would play CounterSrike on purpose were already playing CSS on Steam, even if it was much harder to access. It was Zombie Mode, which is custom mode, that broke this situation. In the Korean market, where the counterstrike community was half dead at the time, this zombie mode was accepted as a completely new mode, and it was successful in a position differentiated from the tactical FPS market occupied by Sudden Attack. After this success through zombie mode, CSO has become what it is now, focusing on these party modes and updating them. As i thought, most of the comments about the game aren't negative, yes the game can be cringe with the overload of stuff, but with a group of friends it's really fun, the variety of guns and tons of game modes to explore, and i even managed to accumulate 500 hours in the game. Personally i really enjoyed the Gun game mode with friends.
Funny thing i started playing this again yesterday, the main reason i created steam was this game, and tbj maybe its silly and goofy but its pretty fun and it has a special place in my heart

This was my childhood lmao The Zombies mode was so fun, but it did grow stale after a while with the constant powercreep (made inevitable by the P2W model of game "balance") CSO (or CSNZ) is basically CS if it was more of a platform rather than a specific game. On the same game client, you essentially have CS1.6, then a Co-Op PvE adventure (complete with multiple story missions, progressive adventure maps and boss fights), then the PvP Zombie Infection gamemode, not to mention a ton of other smaller gamemodes like Shelter Survival (building a base and surviving successive rounds) and even Titan fights (play as huge boss monsters or human monster fighters). The old graphics makes it easy/cheap to churn out huge amounts of imaginative visual content, as crazy looking weapon models can be made in weeks rather than months. Same goes for novel game mechanics (made ample use of in the special gamemodes). If you approach CSO/CSNZ thinking its just another deriative of the age-old Tactical Shooter formula, you'll be completely dumbfounded. Its moved way beyond just that.
my favourite weapons in that game were dual mp7s made out of lego where once your ability charges u dissasembe them and make tank or truck missile launcher out of it
I'm feeling that even if the game dies and no players ( I know it's an hating thing but it feels kinda ), it will still fun with friends if the devs didn't shutdown the game
I actually played this for close to 100 hours with friends. There is a insane map variety + the game is just basic 1.6 if you just chose to not play with the custom weapons. The hidden game mode was funny af aswell.
I really love this game despite being P2W. The mythic weapon designs, the THICC girl characters, the artstyle, everything in this game is *Chef's kiss*
Btw CS Nexon is only Counter Strike game where I don't feel shame for it players. Everyone here was polite to me, at least if they are not a newbie players.
I have like 500 hrs on it , you need to understand it and you will like it , insane gamemodes , a lot of maps and a lot of good updates that still happen

For all those who say that this game is p2w, they are correct. However, the game has options in the map configuration menu that make it possible to play with the original weapons from CS 1.6: "classic" "new classic" "new classic zombie" "only melee" "only secundary" and "only awp". This greatly improves modes like "zombie Z" zombie hero" and zombie escape. I recommend playing with this configuration. If everyone gave this game a chance. I swear it wont disappoint you. No one pays me anything to sponsor this game I do it out of love for nostalgia. I see a lot of potencial, just like its siblings 1.6 SOurce and GO. It's CS1.6 on steroids basically and if you dig further, there was another crappy game like that one called Counter-Strike Online 2 made by the same devs but instead of CS1.6, it was CS Source on steroids.
actually i think this game is a great. a lot game modes, a lot guns with upgrade, a lot charecters, a lot maps not just csgo or any other game that new map on years or months. actually cant believe but valorant just got the tdm update lol i didnt know they couldnt create a tdm untill now. fun fact is even cheaters are a lot less then other games . also i love many of the mods and i think it can be the game it self like what fall guys did. we already have fall guys game mode in many mg cs maps and nexon zombie game modes. the big problem i have with it is : its p2w as HELL!! and dont care about balancing just like i said its p2w

Saddly the Indonesian server for this game is already closed long time ago. It's not a competitive game I admit, It just for fun experience. Going through story mode, play gun game,fighting giant monster and play zombie mode was one of a kind experience 😂
You know when Anomaly makes another video, trashing this game, somewhere in the world a sociopath working for Nexon is going to throw a tantrum over it for countless hours and the community is living for it 😂
