Boyd Butler “Dr. Gas” out of Salt Lake City invented this type of exhaust with a X-pipe. It was used on Sterling Marlin’s car where he won the 1995 Daytona 500. Butler approached the team and said he had something that would increase the cars RWHP by 5. They invited him to the dyno and the car “performed better than expectations”. When Sterling Marlin fired up the car for the first time it was during qualifying. The car sounded completely different than every other nascar because of Butlers exhaust system. It was reported that everyone in the pits stopped what they were doing to watch Marlin qualify because the car had such a unique sound that had never been heard before. There was rumors by the other teams it was a new head design or cam design, but no one knew it was simply the exhaust. Look up the 1995 Daytona Qualifying of Sterling Marlin. The car SCREAMED! 🤩
In September of 2001 two commercial airliners hit the twin towers, LMAO. Yet no one said a peep about Dr. Peter Plichta's publication 'Benzen aus Sand', released that same month. And what livery was McClure promoting? Hint: Major distribution competitor of the Rainbow Warrior livery. Mentioning the names would only 404 my reply.
Love the sound of that exhaust....brings back memories of me and my dad going to Martinsville Nascar race in the 90s ...it a short track...2 drag straps with hairpin turns at each end ...that car sounds just like then.....the thunder of 40 cars that sound like that gave me chills
Plan on being pulled over a lot for noise pollution. Now that reminds me of my 68 Firebird. I had straight pipes to the doors. That was it. Bazooka pipes. Loved it! At 148 mph, you could not hear anything but the exhaust.
I had an SLP Loudmouth exhaust on my 2000 LS1 Trans Am. I loved it. Resonator, no muffler, but I ended up taking it off because I kept getting hassled by the cops over a noise ordinance. Even just idling at a red light would draw a cop's attention. Cops would tell me I'm on a public road not a race track. Massachusetts.
@@jeffrey3498 It's not the cops that care so much it's residents who complain to local office, noise complaints are usually the biggest in any western society. Certainly in Europe where they have to keep attacking the manufacturers due to the idiots fitting over the top pipes. The minimum level in EU is now the same as tire noise. 68db
Hopefully your new shop becomes a reality. That sounds so good with the boom tubes. Stay classy and smile often it happens every episode... You are nailing it Emily!!!
yea, I don't think I've ever seen a woman get so excited about getting NASCAR exhausts. =) Very nice. I'm a Ford guy myself, but I have to admit your Camero is sharp.
There's almost nothing that will make my day more than seeing Emelia enjoying building cars. She truly is a gem. When you look at this shot 05:05 she looks gorgeous, it's like we're looking at the opening shot of a movie. Go for it, Emelia!
So good to see new content, you’re freaking awesome and I love all your builds and your jubilation on start up is amazing! Keep it coming and can’t wait to see the new shop 🥳
You should do the front seats like they used to do in the older Porsche's with the plaid and body colored seats ! Do yours in grey and black plaid in the middle of the seats with grey stitching !
@@MX304 cool i didn't know about that option but itd look way better with a black and grey plaid in the middle of the seats with grey stitching to match the car and seats ! OH YEAH WAY BETTER THAN ANY OTHER OPTION ! The black is cool but the plaid would go HARD !
I appreciate the low key look of the exterior and believe the same theme should be applied to the interior. I suggest cloth seats if it will spend it's life in California. Maybe have the seat backs embroidered with a logo for a personalized touch.
That’s frikken awesome! I had a 67 Camaro when I was 18. I loved that car. I’m also doing a 4 day car build but on a 66 Mustang. Mine began in December, just before Christmas and began from scrolling Craigslist so… It’s going pretty much as expected.
Emilia not getting scared and still smiling after the car backfires 😅😂❤ bro no other woman would smile like that even after she almost possibly pp her self
You look lean, been working out? Suits you well. Also, that car looks really good. I have to say your giddiness is inspiring. Thank you for the video made my day
I used to think Harbor Freight was a junk reseller, but they have such great values (their tarps, for one) and so many tools I actually like better than my more expensive name-brands. Especially their Daytona Jack lineup. I have one aluminum and one steel now. The steel one surpasses jacks 2-3x the price I have used. I don't have a lot of experience with aluminum ones due to safety, but this HF aluminum jack is built like a champ.
Harbor freight is great for certain things. Just gotta have some common sense for when you will need to spend more money. Example, a milwaukee drill will always be better than a Harbor freight drill. But I do get my sockets etc from Harbor freight n dems
Oh wow, THAT end is the exhaust tip! I swear when you first picked up them things I thought they went the completely opposit was round hahah ... that's nuts!
Amelia, you can’t go wrong with a houndstooth inserts on the seats. Classic look, and would look great on the seats you have. I’m sure whatever you pick will be great.
That's a classic Camaro, don't drive it and get rid of it. You go through a lot of cars. The 60's and 70's era are the holy grail of all muscle cars. Don't forget it!
I love what you do, and been a fan for a while now, but is there any way to turn up the image stability on these recent vids? The shaky-cam style of this one was starting to give me a little motion sickness which I don't normally experience. Hopefully this is some helpful feedback for you. Love the sound and can't wait to see this one finished!
Those appear to be Spintech because of the spot welds for the baffles. Probably why it's so quiet. I've seen some before that have no baffles, but simply a couple dividers lengthwise. Those are much louder
It sounds pretty good but I think Fluid MotorUnion could fabricate an even better sounding exhaust. Problem with them is, that once you have them fabricate an exhaust for one of your cars, you'll end up having them fabricate an exhaust for each of your cars.
Dude, the '69 Camaro has always been my dream build as well. That exhaust sounds gnarly and overall this is a sick build! Super cool. Keep up the awesome work!!! P.S. Let me know if you need any help around the shop. I can do pretty much anything with a wrench. :)
the best shop would be a old drive in working fast food joint like in the posters with garage on the same property only divided by a really nice security wall with auto gate ...so you could have car shows every weekend during the warm months...
Quieter then I thought, then as soon as you hit the throttle he puts his hand to his ear 😂 that is an insane sounding exhaust. Think i need that for my 6.2L AMG. My car isn't loud enough for me
That whole camaro build is sick, now it's like super sick. Love the interior too, sure you gotta upgrade it? go old school! anyway good luck with the move! Lots of disruption with something like that, don't be afraid to hire a mover, takes a lot of stress off. Moving my office soon, got lots to box up etc. so a mover will help a lot so I can stay productive.
I'll be honest, I watch these videos, because RU-vid auto plays them. But, that NASCAR exhaust on the car, Actually make me look over and thumbs you up. That thing sounded really nice.
The interior , small stainless Chevy powerpac seat buttons probably have to be made, black gray white golden color accent thread in design , black leather side trim maybe plaid or any neat pattern
I respect the side pipe game, however the older you get you'll realize having the ability to quiet the car is the way to go. I ended up doing x pipe exhaust with switches for dumpers on the side. Won't sound as good as the nascar exhaust but you also won't rattle your ear drums every second. Great car love the project and to each their own.
My buddy and I did this to his exhaust on a 69 Chevelle like 15 years ago this cracked me up. He had a solid roller cam motor and it sound just like a NASCAR. lol but after a while, he got bored and didn’t like the tone of the car …and he just put pipes out the side of the car, which made the small blocks sound like a big block….. 358 small block Victor Junior heads can’t remember the intake. The car was an 850 I believe it had a crazy duration cam…
OMG absolutely love the 69! The exhaust is sick great job welding it up Emelia! I also feel your pain I burned my leg on my side pipe on my 73 Stingray once after I first bought it and never again!! Looking forward to seeing the interior and rims!
Fire watch is definitely handy when you’re welding lol frayed jeans light up instantly 😂 hard to beat harbor freight for the price. great video as always
I had a 69 conve😢rtible that was just about the same color. I had diamond tuck velour seats with gray pleather borders. It was pretty sweet. As for the seat belts, the law says that cars built in 68/69 don't require them. I would check, especially in California. I'm in Florida. I have a car that doesn't have seat belts.
Be careful about your will adapter since you're in the power band big time you may have to put some deep dish on the make sure you got enough rubber in the quality handle that you need some big wheels cuz you went narrow for speed
Back in the day I used a couple of old driveshafts to make the exhaust exit just ahead of the rear tires and a crossover pipe welded in behind the header collectors. Nascar exhaust on the cheap !
I have a 2007 Solara Convertible, want to install something to give vehicle a modified sound, not as crazy as yours Emily, loved your energy and enthusiasm
