this place looks like so much fun. just a few dudes with a bunch of tons of metal, cranes, forklifts, shoving expensive parts into ridiculous places, questionable industry engineering, torches, welding, everything is broken... all of the funnest things.
With all of Kevin's helpful hand signals, I'm surprised you didn't end up assembling it into a pump jack or a launch tower instead of a dozer blade! The humor mixed with genuine skill and friendship makes for a great combination. Your team obviously knows what you're doing, and it shows in each episode. Much appreciated!
Well, you guys certainly had a few set backs to perform a "simple task" like re-fitting the blade. It made for good viewing seeing you fix the problems that cropped up along the way and made me realise (again) how much I miss working on gear like D8s, as I did back in the 80's when I was an apprentice diesel mechanic. I am now looking forward to (again) seeing Kevin work his magic on the colour and being wowed by a great looking, freshly painted D8K. Roll on for part 3 of this great story.
Lost my dad last week to dementia, every evening when I got off work I would carry my iPad to his bedside and we would watch your videos, his eyes would light up and smile. Dad wash a mechanic when he was a young man , he worked his way up to be director of operations at a large furniture manufacturer in NC, I can’t thank you enough for your videos, we all miss him but he’s in a better place.
Big machines mean big weight and little problems are also big. Heavy old machine taking on its original shape, colour and workable condition. Great video.
I swear those ole Cats gotta soul, they are just like a big ole dog, you take care of them and they love ya forever. Sweet sounding ole girl, ready to go back to work the heavy stuff will be no big deal. Thanks for the update sir.
Another fine mess Clint got Kevin into. The comedic banter between them is definitely part of what keeps us subs waiting for the next episode. Like 60's & 70's kids waiting for the Saturday morning Bugs Bunny Comedy Hour.
" Be happy in your work",.. as somebody once said,...Kevin is the 'champ' in this! I actually look forward to Tuesdays and Fridays for more great viewing time, from C&C Equipment's YT channel. Thanks again, Clinton.
I've said it before, and I will say it again, " the best channel on RU-vid hands ✋️ down," so informative, so knowledgeable, so intertaning..thanks Guys.
Thank you Clinton for another 50 minutes of pure fun. I surely do appreciate the time and effort you put in each video you post. I was amazed at the sneak peek at the finished product after Kevin did his magic!
It's likely that most folks who find this particular trade fascinating don't actually work on heavy equipment. However, we appreciate the C&C videos because they bring us into the shop in a familial sort of way while being, at the time , educational. Shop levity also adds balance to the whole package.
I understand what you are saying here--it is hard/dirt work. I worked for a heavy construction/landfill company for 25 years before I was lucky enough to retire.did just about every job in the company-did the shop tour for five years. My Son currently has his own H/E shop-with service trucks that keeps him busy. He worked for CAT about 10 years before going out on his own.I understand these video's--These guys rock! You know-in this world of computer-land jobs--someone still has to fix/make/fabricate things so stuff gets done. Can't just sit at a keyboard...
cheers guys another great video you all make me smile every time i watch super attitude and knowledge as all ways never a dull moment working in your shop seems to be a really great place to work like one big family keep it coming respect from the uk
You guys sure do a complete job.. Any prospective buyer need do nothing more than look a few of your videos to see the quality of your service and repairs. That new grill turned out mighty nice👍. Looks OEM.
Use a breaker bar with a pipe on it too break it loose. Air chokes pole. Unless you have a good compressor and air ratchet. Snap on has a 90° ratchet thats awesome for about $300. Well worth it.
Loving the issues you find and fix before selling. You're a cut above the rest with your attention to all the details. I am sure Picasso and Rembrandt will do the old iron justice! Big shout out for helping the Cap'n with triple5. Keep safe so we can enjoy more videos guys.😄
I loved how you described how easy it would be the break the track and pull apart the track adjuster, and you did make it look easy. Great video, cant wait to see it shine. Those 8s are strong old machines. Wish I had a reason to have one and one of those F model 7s. I operated a couple when I was in the army late 70s early 80s. Lot of fond memories of those machines. Thanks for the great content and letting " TURBO " come back.
When you have the ability to work on heavy equipment you guys develop your own language of communication to make everything flow. This is a art just like putting the track back together on this D8 Cat. Everything is OMG heavy on this brute. Great job bringing her back to life.
Another awesome project! You and Kevin sure do laugh alot which I think is just great. Bet the final product will be a bit more yellow. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Time you sorted that apprentice out Kevin. Repairing kit the size of this D8 and up is fascinating to watch. you guys deserve a lot is credit for your knowledge and skill tackling this stuff Clinton. I was amazed how you covered the stack when hauling that D8 home to prevent the draft spinning the turbo. I guess this was because of the broken manifold, I would never have thought of this.I'm looking forward to you boys getting a D9 and then a D11 in your lovely shop to sort out. Great channel, thank you very much.
You are going to just have to have a dozer painted in C&C Blue one of these days. Bet it would bo a cool 'one off' and worth its weight in Dollers (Deisel) @ auction. Great vid once again. Also thank you for what you have done to help the Captain out, as an ex IH and later in life a Cat field engineer really wished I had your tools available back then, but it was still fun times, that was way before mobile phones were thought of. Turbo Kev is one smart guy, not everyone gets the chance to stand and watch his second in command work. Stay safe and well, now wishing my life away waiting for your next posting.
she is a gift that keeps on giving isnt she. where's the fun in a dozer that isnt hoarding surprises. Kevin would be free to sing christmas carols otherwise 😆
Super great video!! The humor your crew shares always always always makes a team better performance wise, as long as the humor doesn't go too far into hurting guys feelings!!
Those d8ks were very where years ago town and landfills river bed work construction site those k machine would just push and push and not even break a sweat they were around for a long time that series. . I don’t miss them. Loved it when enclosed cabs came the best thing in the world glad I’m retired (semi) wouldn’t get on one of those ever again
I am really enjoying the vlogs. Loved the shop truck series, learned heaps and seeing the engineering involved with the dozers etc is great to watch. Appreciate you are taking the time to show how things work and the problem solving that follows. Very entertaining the banter in the shop especially with Kev, must make the job more fun. It is great to see your sons working and learning with you as it will definitely serve them well in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to share with us Clint, I am surprised you haven't been able to upgrade your crane, only knowing what a good salesman you are, thought by now you would have sold it to DP 😂🤣😂🤗 When that blade dropped, I honestly thought you were going to bury it.
When it comes to the finishing touches, Kevin puts forth a lot of elbow grease, I mean A LOT, just to get it ready to paint. Thats the hours and hours of labor that you don't see, or even realize. But let's not ever forget Randy who needs accredited to the max. Give credit where credit is due.
Fantastic. You painted it cat yellow. Those blade arm joints fit better than my knee joints. For 70000 lbs it’s amazingly nimble even at really low engine revs. Great video again lads. Looking forwards to seeing The final paint job.
another great video Clint, as for your crane skills can find no fault at all. The first time ever done no one injured and job done what more can you ask, remember there is always a fan in the stands that can do it better but you will never get them to put the hot dog down and come and show you. Keep the videos coming and I will keep the thumbs up one them all, I have been subbed for a long time now.
Another great video guys, you lot bounce off each other so well bro. Oh it's yellow I was expecting more of a camo but it will still look purdy with new stickers. Safe travels
