Spot on! That was the challenge in producing this video. Some fries just didn’t have a great shelf life (maccas, kfc) and could’ve done a lot better fresh out from the shop. We did try to keep them warm and fresh but there was only so much we could do.

Am I the only one who really likes the soggy cold ones, I think they taste a lot better than the fresher ones lol

Even though we usually see 'crisps' on the packets, everyone in Australia still calls crisps Chips... so we use chips for hot chips (aka fries) as well as for crisps

From my understanding, all deep fried slices of potato are French fries or simply “fries” in North America, whereas in the rest of the English-speaking world (UK, Australia, South Africa, Ireland etc…), they only use “fries” to refer to the thin, crispy slices of potato that you would normally get with a burger or a pizza and have with salt/ketchup, whereas they call what Americans and Canadians would refer to as “steak fries” chips, which are normally thick, fluffy and had with salt or vinegar. I also think that what the North Americans would call “potato chips” are also commonly called chips across the world and the few exceptions are the UK, Ireland and some places in Africa such as Kenya where they call them crisps.

@@anonymoususer2756 Actually, even the McDonalds style thin fries we Aussies would call chips or sometimes hot chips .. it's only McDonalds where the staff say fries.. but since it's so popular the word fries is sometimes being used outside of McDonalds setting... trust me every other fast food place says chips, and frozen bags also say chips. Literally only McDonalds is the place calling it fries. But yes the 'potato chips' we still call chips, even though some packets have the word crisps on it. Also American 'steak fries' Aussies call 'Steakhouse Chips' or 'Stake Chips'.
