Each gang summed up in my words: O’Driscolls: Soviet tactics before the Soviet Union was a thing Lemoyne Raiders: ThE sOuTh WiLl RiSe AgAiN!!! Murfree Brood: paddle faster, I hear banjos Skinner Brothers: hair cuts… and surgery… Lamarie: Dutch can we fight O’Driscolls? We have the O’Driscolls at home… Del Lobos: the horned toad says we should go to Mexico Dutch’s Boys: have some GODDAMN FAITH!!!
If you never seen the murfree brood you have been rushing like hell through chapter 6 🤔 Your loss because they have some of the best encounters in the game 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly during all of chapter 6, whenever I was riding around Roanoke ridge I would always encounter the murfree brood and they would scare the shit out of me 😂
My list 1. Van der lindes 2. Lemoyne Raiders 3. O’Driscalls 4. Del lobo (Bonus, where night folk would’ve went) 5. Murfees 6. Skinners (Bonus, where mafia would’ve went 7. Laramie
I agree with certain aspects of the list, to an extent. Van Der Linde is charming, a group made up of diverse personalities & skill. Main point I would agree being having our main protagonist involved. First place earned. O’Driscolls have a presence through out the narrative a lingering antagonist force, intertwined with Dutch and Colm’s feud, second makes sense. Third is the the lemoyne Raiders for the inspired ties to real world civil war, they were present intermittently through certain missions. Their motives such as seeking to commandeer areas of Lemoyne with some historical value such as the church near Bolger Glade or Shady Belle were interesting. Fourth are the Murfree Brod, they are obscure and interesting. They are cold blooded psychotic, scavengers at campsites and consisting of a hermit like behavior. With a hillbilly aesthetic of rags and overalls. Their inhabitation of the wilderness of Roanoke Ridge added atmospheric uncertainty when exploring the region. They are hoarders, stealing carriages and as mentioned in this video inbred, so interesting relationships between one another. The fifth place is The Skinner brothers. They have a commodity in the wilderness as hunters, massacring folk and wildlife alike. Pelts and fur covered garments complement their surroundings. Having some story significance and can be threat in the Epilogue. Sixth, the Del Lobo Gang. It’s a neat concept to have a Mexican group of outlaws riding out in the west and situated in forts of contemporary architecture, definitely feel their presence in the territory of New Austin. Laramie gang is last for me given their minimal impact on the broader world building, despite having involvement in the epilogue. They are wealthy individuals seeming to have no ties to a legacy in the untamed America. Only highlight being their outfits of clean aspect.
No Night Folk or Mafia? I know there's no official entry for them in the compendium but they're still pretty interesting to encounter. And both easily beat out the Laramie Boys
