Bill and Lisa, I lived in Mexico City for about a year in the early '90's. I came to really relish (and am intermittently nostalgic for) *freshly made *corn tortillas (*taste and *smell), and in combination with cilantro on anything (whatever the protein), and lime. Many cultures have their own version of combination brilliance, this is some of Mexico's. Only discovered the two of you within these last weeks (have subscribed), and am enjoying your tenor with each other, your hearty and curious appetites, your gracious and low key spirits socially. Thanks for sharing these culinary treks with us.
Hello Bill and Lisa, I enjoyed your first visit to Mercado Gonzalez! There are so many choices and everything looks great. Oh and Lisa, Thanks for being so gracious to my daughter last week at Disney California Adventure taking a picture with her. She was RU-vid Starstruck🤩🌟
My daughter and I were in San Diego in August 2024 and we drove up to Costa Mesa and tried Mercado Gonzalez food Hall. We tried the tamales too. Went back 2nd night to try another flavor and stood in line for churros! Everything so fresh. Good recommendation!!
Bill & Lisa please do a group food tour in Southern California! I would fly down from the Bay Area for a day just to experience your joy for life and food.
Live close by but no longer drive so will have to talk my son into going here..Lots of good stuff. Especially churros ! Wish me luck. Glad you enjoyed. Located 1st visit also.Kerp on treating us. Nice to see family..Be safe, healthy snd happy. Kakena Hei 🥰🌺
All I can say is WOW! The food looked Spectacular and the Chicken may have Stolen the Show as far as Picture Perfect!! Was it as tender as it looked? By far one of your best food videos to date.
Bummer.. would have love to meet both you you... I live like 12 mins away from that Northgate.. which is the Newest and Largest Northgate in California and to me the best cause just about every food item has their own station and its laid out like Costco, what i mean is WIDE Aisle and CLEAN..
Wow, Mexican sushi!!! I never heard of it and Im not the biggest fan of sushi. But that looks fantastic. The whole concept needs to take off and become famous.
That food looked so good. I love Mexican food. Wish we had a place like that in our area. You guys go to the greatest places. Thanx for taking us along. Stay safe,
Amazing place. Thanks for Part 2. So many things to try. I gotta say that Bill's bite sizes have improved since I first started watching you two...but Lisa still is the champ. 😂
Hey ya'll 👋 everything looks so yummy 😋. The last part where you tried the strawberry & cream popsicle ❤ I thought I smelled it lol. My baby surprised me with fresh strawberries 🍓 today he knows how much I like them. Have a great day
We love your channel. Thank you so much for the video! We went today and had the tamales they were so good! I live here and didn’t know this location existed. We go to Long Beach and Riverside often.
Hiii Bill! Hiii Lisa! Wow wow! What a great place to visit! Who would’ve known that you could get sushi at Northgate! Everything that you both had, looked so delicious. Especially, the chicken! I’m such a sucker for rotisserie chicken, corn tortillas, guacamole, and salsa! Thank you for this fun adventure. Thank you so much for the shoutout for Josh! I shared this video with him. Take care! Blessings to you both!
Another great video!!!❤❤❤ never had tamales 🫔 before but yours did look good😊 the chicken and tortilla looked good too😊😊😊 the pastries looked tasty too❤❤❤❤ have to visit this place sometime😊😊😊 thanks for going back for more foodie reviews❤❤❤❤
OMG...everything looked so delicious. I'd go back to the churro place. The tacos de lengua & the tamales had me salivating. Thanks, Bill & Lisa, for re-visiting Mercado Gonzalez! BTW, Diana's menudo is delish and now, I will try their champurrado too.
Yea!!!! Was hoping you'd go back. Salivating watching this, except for the champurrado, not a fan, but I'll take the hot chocolate. The only sweet tamale I've ever had is with raisins. Surprised to see pineapple and strawberry as options for tamales. Pork in red sauce for me. Haven't had lengua in a long time. It is some of the most tender meat. Just think of it as beef. Now I want some tamales and some lengua. Yummy. Growing up, after church on Sundays, we'd always go to a bakery and I always got a pineapple empanada. Have tried different flavors like apple, pumpkin, etc but my fav is still pineapple. Thanks for the offer. Willl be over to eat up the chicken and tortillas with you!! LOL Again, thank you for going back for a part 2. Maybe try part 3?
What a great way to wake up on a rainy morning to see your sunny smiles reviewing delicious food, especially the Mexican-Japanese fusion sushi. Congrats on 70K subscribers 🎉
We were just there on Thursday,we drove from Vegas, stopped at the UFO jerky place and Calico then drove there, had good posole and torta ahogada( a little bit too spicy for me) churros and other stuff, then we drove to Knott's. It was worth the stop and the tolls
My dad is from Sinaloa. It's pronounced Seenalowense. Japanese food is huge in Sinaloa ❤. Bill looked sad when he didn't get his churro ☺️. Pineapple empanada I'd my favorite 🤤. Lisa, I think you'd love the Pepino con chile paleta.
grew up eating beef tongue. you described it well. if you ever come to find cheeks, they are also very soft and tender. used to have lamb cheeks. that chicken was very yummy looking. watching your food trips always makes me want to have. so hingry now.
Wish we had a place like this near me. Upstate NY is a desert when it comes to good eats. My daughter used to live in San Diego when my son in law was in the Marines and we used to go to Costa Mesa shopping but there wasn't anything like this place back then.
Hey Bill and Lisa, those tacos looked fabulous, may I ask if the beef tongue had a gamey taste to it? I’ve always wondered. I’ve never had tamales before, I’ve never been able to find any here at restaurants.
Great review of that place, never been there, but will visit some day. Hey Bill, I know that Lisa is Chinese, but I noticed that she pronounces the word "tempura" the Japanese way. Did you teach her that?
The Tamale you got ( Jalapeno ) is not hot.. they chop it up and it looses its hotness.. I tried local homemade ones being sold thru craigslist.. and they just split the Jalapeno long ways and leave it in long strips.. and it will burn you up.. but thats time consuming and its eaiser to grab a handfull of chopped up or minced Jalapeno and throw it in the masa. But its still good tho.. just the heat is not really there.
It would be nice if they offered some salsa at least with the chicken and included a couple of tortillas. I’m assuming they do only if you buy a meal and not jut the one item.
Wow! I didn't expect a heart from you guys for that comment. Very cool!🤙Those tacos looked great and suadero and beef tongue are two of the best taco meats out there I think Love your channel! Come up to Ventura county sometime, we've got great seafood and Mexican food...
We have to go to this place, Mexican food is one of my favs up there with Filipino food. Are question is this, the butterfly'd chicken looked amazing, is it the same or better than El Pollo Loco's?
Bigger than El Pollo Loco and a better deal for sure. Tastes great and love the fact you can get freshly made tortillas, salsa, guacamole, etc. from vendors right in the market and have a family meal.
