I was too young at that time but growing up 500 metres from the stadium I can clearly remember the choruses, the police sirens, the people running everywhere I could see from my window,and the atmosphere that still is present in all atalanta supporters, and in the neighbourhood; the writtens on the walls still talk.So much nostalgia, thanks for this video!!

Sono un vecchio tifoso juventino di Roma e ho fatto a botte un giorno si e uno no dai primissimi anni 80 a meta` anni 90 in una citta`, la mia, dove la Juve era odiata ancor piu` della Lazio stessa! So cosa vuol dire sentirsi accerchiati...A scuola, per strada, allo stadio, dovunque mi trovassi era un inferno ma la mia passione per la Juve era superiore a tutto e io non ho mai fatto un passo indietro davanti ai romanisti (soprattutto ai romanisti) o ad altri gruppi ultra` seguendo la Juve dappertutto, in Italia e in Europa. In tutte le risse, i combattimenti, le cariche in cuI mi sono trovato non ho mai visto un atalantino scappare, mai! Non posso dire lo stesso di altri ultra`, compresi gli juventini. La societa`, la squadra e tutti gli atalantini meritano le soddisfazione che stanno finalmente ottenendo. Onore all'Atalanta e al suo popolo.

So glad that today, Atalanta is on its way to become regulars in the best teams in Europe,not just Italy! Italy has had (and still have) the best ultras movement in Europe, best fans with the best attitude in mediterranean area, compared only by Argentina ultras, when I say so it is because in Italy football is a serious thing, always been, it is not a trend, it is not fashion, it is a real subculture which has spread all over our country since the 70's, ultras is already kind of an Italian thing, last decade has brought the so called wannabe hooligans who act and swag like British or Northern European people wearing Italian fancy clothes, these people has been affected by all the movies about and literature about football violence and then they feel the urge to replicate their cliche acting on Sundays at the stadiums but these people doesn't like the football in it self, they just like oasis and transporting movie and they pretend to be English, don't misunderstand me, I like, no I LOVE British football and everything the have to do with it but I gotta admit Italian spirit, Italian approach with football, the feeling when you get in curva is way better than everyelses, I am not saying that from a point of view of who is more powerful and most dangerous, ultras is not just that, ultras is a lot of thing mixed, violence is just an effect, Italy has gotten hundred of teams with their own ultras, you feel the ambience even in 5th division, Ultras has always been sharper and coordinated more than other realities all around Europe, when I say so I include charities and fights for human rights, Italian ultras are has their own mentality, restrictions have done a lot, trying to smash and eradicate the movement but ultras fight back, and then you know what? what else you gonna do on SUNDAY AFTERNOONS?

Sorry guys, but I do not think the proper approach is the one I see here in the comments. It should not be about judging or trying to make senseless rankings. This is just a great piece of historical document, a simple and uncensored picture about that social and cultural context 20 years ago and more. I personally know the author but even if I did not, I think it is pretty clear that there is not celebrative purpose but just the try to take an authentic piece of it from the inside.
