The first time I got so endrenched in Queen was in 1987 when they were on a break. They were already popular then. Who would have known they will be HOUSEHOLD NAME today? I mean Metallica is not household name even they were so popular. So to refer Queen in the present tense is perfectly justifiable. Queen is in a touching distance to The Beatles in terms of legendary status. In fact, it's these two bands that are the flagship of British rock music.
@@bpabustan 1st time I heard was in 1980/81- Another One Bites the Dust. I thought it was a very unique song !!! I was born the year Queen was formed and he changed his name to Freddie Mercury.
As if his talent and dedication in this movie weren't enough to cement him as a genius actor about to be the hottest shit in Hollywood, Rami Malek really out here taking every opportunity to elevate his fellow cast members and give shout-outs to the crew who put such soul into this movie but so rarely get the spotlight. Such a class act.
Seriously, when Rami cut the interviewer off at 9:59, I cheered out loud for him. Ashley, Honey - try decaf, stay focused, and stop trying to bring yourself into the interview!
Same! If you’re gonna ask a question LET THEM ANSWER IT and hun skip your mini monologue because no one is interviewing you they’re interviewing the incredibly talented actors
@@antonella4632 Cute?? Are you kidding?? Yeah, from the thighs up and from the shins down. I'm not hating, just stating that her totally ripped out knees are very lame, but I'm not surprised at the way she's dressed. She's just very unprofessional all around.
@@lindabradley7428 it was a chill interview, it wasn't fucking Ellen or Jimmy. She was a bit much at the beginning, but half to finish she did a great job. I don't see the big deal with what she's wearing, if her boss didn't care then why are you bitching? I swear y'all get pressed at anything
I’m a teen who saw the movie yesterday and I agree. There really will be a whole new fan base because of this movie. I was already a fan of Queen, not a hardcore fan or anything, but I do enjoy their music, so I did learn a lot from this movie and it makes me wish I was around during their time. I feel like I know this band and that I’ve been a fan forever and I miss Freddie, he was such a legend. I’m in love with the movie and it has to be my favourite.
They gave a great interview to a very poor interviewer... she made this hard to watch. The movie was phenomenal, though. I think Freddie would give them an "Aaaay-yo" if he could!
I think there will be a big resurgence of queen but I know that there are still a lot of young people that still know queen I mean I’m only 13 and I have loved queen my whole life they are my favourite band
I also love Queen since I was about that age. 10 years later and loving them more each day. I just feel sad that I am not 30 years older. I feel like I was born too late
wilderness fun my mum loved queen so I grew up listening to their music along with other amazing bands like the beats , the cure , bon jovi , etc . I’m glad I got to grow up listening to great music
She has great potential as a journalist but doesn’t really listen like she should. Take a breath, slow down and stop bringing yourself into the interview. It’s an amazing opportunity but came across a bit like a teen at her first rock concert.
I devoted my attention to the actors responses . My attention was focused on the actors input, which BTW I found informative and very interesting, Made me even more excited about seeing the film .Bottom line...She got the job done ! Easy to sit in the cheap seats and pass criticism.
you must get distracted so easily. Missed my point entirely. My interest was the input from Rami and the other 2 actors Aside from all this, Bohemian Rhapsody ... I am looking forward to seeing.
Mike Myers played the part of the EMI executive who didn't want BR released as a single. It was a meta moment, as the Myers movie Wayne's World famously featured BR in a car head-banging scene.
@@35diamondgirl Yeah, except you know he was made up, right?!? It was just a way that he suggested to written into the show because he is an epic Queen fan!!!
Bohemian Rhapsody is my husband favorite song. I have never paid attention and didn’t really like it until I had seen this movie. Now my husband is asking me you are not tired this song yet because I am listening day and night, lol.
I was first introduced to Queen's music in 1984 in Revenge of the Nerds, and more a couple of years later in Highlander. Who Wants To Live Forever is still the most beautiful and heartbreaking song for me.
I agree. Brian was at the top of his game on the day he wrote that song. It really speaks to his emotional side. And Freddie, OMG! He sang it as if he realized that he was going to die. (Maybe he DID know?) So gut wrenchingly heartbreaking! Those two were an unstoppable duo, and it is so sad that Freddie was stopped by his lifestyle, in the prime of his life!!
Man, had to stop watching at 2:16 because of the interviewer. Listening is a lost art today - its a shame when a person only considers what they will say next instead of practicing the art of deep listening and empathetic responses.
After I watched the film, I went into a restaurant and as I was leaving I heard the opening of We Are the Champions and I could not pinpoint where it was coming from! The music follows you. The film was so captivating and really kept you. I left wanting more. I honestly would've been happy with a 5 hour long film with the whole Live Aid performance. I'm in Jamaica by the way and the small but intentive audience were REALLY into it. There was singing and stomping and from the older folks, "I remember that". It was great, just absolutely great! 10/10 will watch again.
It blew me away this movie ,and i`ll definately be going back to see it again. The guys were well chosen ,as i felt they ALL looked so much like their counterparts. Rami is brilliant and i`m sure Freddie is smiling down from above.
It's true! Queen themselves were very supportive of the actors who played themselves. Look at some BTS footages. Brian took time to sit down and taught Gwil some licks! Roger likewise did the same to the guy who played him. Queen went beyond just being consultants. They were HANDS ON in the production.
3:15 first, she calls Joe John (but I’ve heard other interviewers do that, as well), and he responds as John after they all speak up. Then, she asks Joe about John during the creation of We Will Rock You. Hello, Chica! Brian wrote that. I thought you said you saw the movie
Watched the movie today. I’m a fan of Queens music so I was curious to see how the band members were portrayed. I enjoyed every minute of the film. Credit to everyone involved. A worthy tribute to a great singer/songwriter/entertainer. Queen fans rejoice
Saw Bohemian Rhapsody 3 times I love ❤️ the movie & I love ❤️ all the guys that played the part of Queen. Special one is Rami Malek, he did a fantastic job playing Freddie Mercury. I just love ❤️ everything about him. I would love ❤️ to meet Rami Malek & the rest of the other guys. I would love to see them in the Queen outfit. That would turn me on & blow my mind. Fantastic movie & fantastic actors. Love ❤️ them all. It is sad 😞 what happened to Freddie Mercury. He had aids & it is very sad. May he Rest In Peace amen ❤️😇🙏
I was sooooo excited for this movie! My mum and dad love Queen and I grew up listening to them! I’m living in Japan right now and I was devastated knowing the film had been released and I might not be able to see it in the cinema, luckily they had it playing in English with Japanese subtitles so I did get to see it!! The film was brilliant, I already can’t wait to see it again!
Yes a big shout out from Rami to Jan Sewell, transforming Eddie Redmayne into Dr. Hawking and Lili Elbe, two incredible films, The Danish Girl and The Theory of Everything. Now transforming Rami into Freddie, she deserves alot of praise.
One of the worst interviewers, staging her “prowess” rather than .... ahhh! What can I say! She can’t stop talking! Even cuts the actors talking! 👎🏽🙄 Apart from being superb professionals, the actors deserve a 👍🏼♥️ for their patience in answering questions that had been asked a thousand times.
Rami Malek is the best one who played his role correctly and very, very well. He studied the character's plans very well, and her idea was amazing about the other actors. It is clear that they play what they represent. If Rami Malek was a leading character, the film would be better than the circus to make the good point in the film that Rami Malek The best actor in Hollywood right now is undisputed a smart, hardworking and attractive person who keeps you looking around for him all the time😍🥰💯 ❤💯
Can't wait for the film! Those people in San Fran were lucky to see the film early. I'm waiting but it seems so far away.... come on November, i'm seeing this at least twice if I dig it, which I probably will.
I’m totally a millennial, I had no idea Queen sang a lot of the songs I would hear at bars or while being out. After seeing the previews I was blown that it was Queen! That’s what made me see the movie & oh my I looooooved it. I been watching nothing but Queen videos on RU-vid. Can’t wait to buy it when it comes out. Idk which movie I love more A Star Is Born or Bohemian Rhapsody...if you haven’t seen the movie...definitely a must!!!
Before the movie came out a lot of high schoolers know who Queen is.Before the movie came out the cafeteria put Bohemian rhapsody song and every one that had that lunch just sang it and most ppl that i talked to knew it was from Queen. And now that the movie came out it will be more popular
The first time I heard a queen song was in happy feet when I was like 4 and I was OBSESSED with it and until I saw the movie I had no clue that I’ve loved their music since I was so young..I’m now 14 and have an unhealthy obsession to them
Great film but I personally felt it lacked Freddie's giggle fits that seemed to happen in every interview. I found he was portrayed in a rather dark way. Maybe it was just the atmosphere of the film. But then it's an impossible task to take on the greatest showman that ever lived. I'd definitely watch it again. Brian was spot on, as was Deaky.
That film made my children come to me and say, hey, I understand why you love Queen so much Mom. Maybe, just maybe, they will teach my grandchildren this great story.
I can't wait to see this film! I don't think Rami (as Freddie) really looks very much like Freddie at all, but then, nobody COULD look like Freddie, except Freddie! I just hope the acting is good. I grew up listening to Queen and I've always loved their music, and Freddie. I just hope this movie IS actually as good as I hope it will be, and if it is that good, it'll be a nice tribute to Freddie! (I hope this all makes sense) Joseph Mazzello looks incredibly like John Deacon!!
Yup. Had no clue it was Mike during the movie. It was something I learned and tried to see him as that guy the next viewing. Yup, an older Wayne's World head banger. How many of us heard it thanks to Wayne's World? I've got to say, I didn't see Wayne's World (on purpose - I was a snob), but caught it elsewhere, don't know where that'd be...SNL?
i think she was just trying to stay professional by going with the ~~~full first name~~~ (she did the same with "joseph" mazzello, even though he's professionally known as joe)
I really wanna watch this but I have school in 7 hours.. Its 00:18 now but I will fuckin bingewatch these kind of video's in the weekend. I haaate school! I rather listen Queen songs and watch those video's. About the movie and also just the real people because there both fun. I really really wonder if theres gonna be a new movie. (Like everything what happens after live aid) because it was a beautiful ending but I feel like it needs to be continued. It was so good I didn't feel like it had to stop there. This is the best movie ever. EVER. I seen alot of very good movies but this one got me. Good job guys, you're all awesome. Every Queen member and the cast of the movie. Every Queen fan. Love you all, thank you!!
Congrats to the movie Bohemian rhapsody for the land slide awards of Rami Malek for the best actor category.. Incredible gross income near to 1 billion dollars and still showing at Netflix 2024..And most watch movie ..Great movie
Re: a question she asked abt Millenials getting this education on Queen, with the movie come back again and again. I'm a Yank stuck in the South and am astounded - go, Dixie! - that it has stayed at my local theatre for what will be over 2-1/2 mos. My 4th viewing is coming up. (Hearing my friend's t.v. in the background on news - oh, yeah, w/ this outrageous politics in America, we really need Queen and Freddie Mercury now don't we?!
Okay this lady is annoying. What’s up with her comment about all the ladies with queen t-shirts now will know who their listening to. Speak for yourself! Not all of us wear t-shirts of Queen with no idea who they are. Some of us are actual fans of their music and career.
Melissa Scarpelli her Millennial comment was dumb as well. Technically I’m a millennial, however, I’ve listened to Queen, Green Day, The Clash, Santana, David Bowie, etc,, since I was 1 or 2. She kind of acts like all millennials listen to only pop and rap.
Saint Jimmy I personally hate all those labels of millennial, generation x, etc. Especially since they don’t really make sense. Supposedly I’m a millennial but in the very start of it so anything they say about millennial doesn’t connect with the way I grew up. I grew up without cell phones, caller id, internet didn’t come into play until I was in middle school, and of course no social media. People born in the 80s had a different childhood/life than people born in the late 90s. Either way it seems it is just a way for people to say negative things about a group of people. Millennial aren’t even the youngest generation anymore. I don’t know why they are stuck on it.
I thought that about the millennial comment too. I’m 27 & I was bought up by parents who listened to Queen constantly. I listened to their music before I could walk. I swear some people think millennials are about 12, not 30 year olds who grew up with records/tapes instead of MP3’s, no internet, no phones, etc. 😂
In the TV Series The Pacific Joseph Mazzello portrays US marine Cpl Eugene "Sledgehammer" Sledge while Rami Malek portrays US Marine Cpl Merriell "Snafu" Shelton
List your favorite movie scenes and why you liked them. Here are mine * Freddie and John's first appearance with Smile. Love the looks on Roger and Brian's (Ben and Gwil's) faces as Freddie can't get the mic disengaged from the stand. Also loved poor Deacy (Joe) having to duck or get knocked out by a flying mic stand. * The family get together and the viewing of the humiliating kid photos - so typical of a proud Mom * Roger getting slapped down with one word when he asks Kash what she's doing later - just precious. * Freddie on stage in various catsuits - outstanding performance by Rami prancing around on stage and looking so much like young Freddie (yes I was around back then and saw them like that the first time round). Especially loved the scene with Rami tossing the mic across the stage to the stage hand and flinging his jacket in the other direction. Also loved the crowd surfing scene - that was so Freddie. * The "altercation" in the Rockfield Farm Recording Studio kitchen over Roger's car song. That was Queen all over - they squabbled over most of their music until they got it perfect. If the person bringing the song for inclusion on an album was able to get their song through that critical vetting process it was included and often was a huge hit. Queen never put out anything that was half-assed. * Mary telling Freddie what he needed to hear in Munich and probably not what he wanted to hear. Mary was the one person that was up front with him all the time and because Freddie respected her, he listened. * When Freddie tries to make up with the band after he's pretty much burned all his bridges and insulted every one of them. Loved how Brian was the first to forgive even though it sounded a little sarcastic. That's our brloved Bri though he's a genuinely kind and caring person and Freddie was a "brother" to them, Freddie just couldn't see it when he was being a jerk. * When Freddie tells his bandmates that he has HIV. My heart went out to Joe who must have found that scene very difficult because his Dad was dying of a brain tumor around the time that scene was shot, I have no doubt that the tears we see were genuine as I can't imagine he wasn't thinking of his Dad dying. The only scene I found puzzling was the Jim Beach Office scene with Freddie apologizing... why didn't he make eye contact? He'd called the meeting, he wanted to make things right yet the lack of eye contact seemed to say he was not comfortable doing it - maybe I'm misreading it. Would love to hear from Rami why he played that scene like that.
I had some real issues with the misrepresentation of Freddie's solo work and the bands reaction to it in the film. First Freddie was not the first to make a solo album, He NEVER fired John Reid (the contract ended); the band did not break up and come back together ; and Why did they make him apologize, I will never understand. Apologize for what? Solo album, Being gay, having HIV? I dont care that they totally f**ked up the timelines but the disservice to Freddie in the whole solo work upsetting the band stuff was so weird. They could have made the film without making up lies about Freddie.
I had Queen's BTS of Live Aid video recommended on the right side right now, which has Deacy in the thumbnail, and when the camera has Rami in front and Joseph behind, on my screen Joseph is positioned RIGHT BESIDE the John Deacon thumbnail and they literally look idENTICAL i'm shitting my pants OMG
Okay, crap like this makes me angry. At 7:52, she states "Freddie had just got down on his hands and knees and begged to that show" when I know that is the farthest thing from the truth. So, if him begging is in the movie, then I don't want to see it. Every account states Queen didn't even confirm their participation until the week prior to Live Aid because Freddie didn't want to do it. During Bob Geldof's press conference announcement of the list of performers a few weeks before the show, he named Queen among them but they had no idea like most of the other bands. Queen's manager had no idea about Live Aid and called Harvey Goldstein while he and Bob were on the air and told him they better not say Queen is doing the show, but they had already said it on air. Even Midge Ure stated that Bob Geldof came into the office one day and announced "I told Freddie he's doing it" because Freddie had refused up to that point. Thank you for telling us about Freddie begging to do Live Aid in the movie. It was my understanding that everything about the movie was historically accurate with the exception of events being switched around for the sake of time. Makes me mad!
You misunderstood what she said. She was saying he begged the band (not Geldof) to get back together so they could do Live Aid. IIRC they were on a break doing solo stuff at the time.
Lfc Rules, thank you for the clarification. She said "and begged for you guys to do that show" she didn't say "and begged you guys to do that show" so I went by the meaning of what she stated and didn't hear what came after. I watched it again and see what you mean. Thanks again.
she says she thinks "Queen's going to have a whole new life after this movie" - and I'm sitting here thinking - they've been travelling all over the world with Adam Lambert, starting in 2011and Adam brought his millions of fans with him to Queen concerts; I'm stating this because I find it upsetting that Adam is never mentioned in any of these interviews although I have seen a couple of references to Queen "still playing" !! BY THE WAY - Adam is in this movie, for a few seconds - I think he's a truck driver, will be going to see the movie on Monday as it's still packed every night and the lineups are forever long !
I love this movie so much. And totally agree there were a ton of songs. I didnt know were by Queen. Rami really enbodied Freddie Mercury. They couldnt of picked anyone better to play him.
The bit about Freddie begging the band back into existence before Live Aid happened, is fiction. Yes Queen were on the verge of splitting several times, though this is not known to be one of these times and is most certainly done in this way for dramatic purposes.
