I just had a random thought: he is probably relieved, that ppl are taking notice, and giving him a voice that he didn't have around that family. He was outnumbered, Tina comes off as, " Can't nobody tell me nothing, do you know who my daughter is?". N trickled right on down into the marriage, as we saw in the video. Let’s be real… most, if not all men, want to be seen as the best option to their wives. Saying he wasn’t perfect probably made him feel as though he wasn’t her best option, so course he was in his feelings. Also, Men need to feel respected by their wives. Anything less will create insecurities and discourse. Despite Matthews infidelities, she clearly still thinks highly of him as a masculine man. Richard probably had some insecurities around this. Tina never embarrassed Matthew while married to him. As scrupulous as Matthew is, he handles his business which is probably very attractive for someone like Tina. Richard appears to be more humble about his career and his life which can be perceived as weak. The best to them both.

After Matthew, I don't think Tina really cares about being married as much as she loves living her best life through Beyonce. This was probably a blessing in disguise for Mr. Lawson, who successful in his own right, probably got tired of living in Beyonce and Jayz's shadow behind Tina. The celebrity couple sold their souls. I didn't believe Richard would last in that family, anyway. I don't remember the last time I've even seen him happy since he's been with Tina, who looks like she's difficult to get along with, and obviously doesn't submit to her husband and have no problem publicly humiliating him, or even caring. Even though he was most definitely wrong, Matthew may have had his reasons. Wishing Richard Lawson the best!

I just seen yesterday the video of Tina Knowles talking down about Richard IN FRONT of his face on camera that he was nowhere near perfect and it gave " IM HIGH MIGHTY AND ENTITLED and need to be worshipped" vibes from Tina. A friend of mine kept her ex husbands last name and added her current husbands name hyphenated afterwards because she’s been known professionally by her ex’s name for decades. Honestly I get it, professionally and records wise. Especially if the marriage lasted for a while and your children have that name 🤷🏾‍♀️
