The tomato sauce looked really good, especially with the fresh herbs. A couple of thoughts for you...putting the sauce in the Vitamix tends to add air to the sauce which is probably why you have a lighter color. If you have an immersion blender, you could have used that rather than pouring it into the Vitamix. You could also use a food mill which will not add air to the sauce making it smooth and darker in color.
Taylor's frustration face on minute 16:46 made my whole day!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The way he says"okay" crack me up!!!! Love your videos so much!!!❤️ Keep them coming!!
LUV ALL THE YARD WORK! Mine is so crazy. The stream and all. It makes for a very Energized yard, Animals and Fish and Humans(the young ones love an adventure). BUT, SAFETY FIRST.
If you’re growing tomatoes again next year, grow them in a different spot of your beds to avoid any tomato grubs that may be in the soil from this year. Rotation is a good idea to avoid vermin in the soil. And before your basil (or whatever) is killed by frost, cut, tie into bunches, and hang to dry (ideally in a dark space, if possible) so you have your own dried herbs for the winter season. They’ll be tastier than shop bought. As are home grown tomatoes: taste and smell! Freeze some tomatoes you’ve liquidised, especially for sauces. Roasted red peppers/capsicum are good with tomatoes in soup - half and half… It is what you say is.
Nice harvest of tomatoes and herbs! The sauce looks delicious! Just winging it sometimes produces the best recipes! So good to see you guys! Take care! Hugs!
hey guys, watching you put all those ingredients together made my mouth water. I agree, whatever you want to call it, I'm sure it is great! till next time. Have a good trip!
I still can not believe you took a 400k fixer upper and created this unbelievable home...it is so beautiful. It goes so well with your style and taste. Jeff looks a bit tired how is is Mom doing? Very glad to see your posting again...miss seeing you on Patron but we will be there when you come back.
Hi Taylor and Jeff 💙 WOW great job chefs with the tomatoes and 👍 your garden looked pretty good 👍 proud of you guys and you guys are so cute working together in the kitchen-loved this video thanks for sharing have a good week and till next time be safe and healthy ♥️🤠
Hey guys, use that sauce for a tomato, sausage, tortellini soup. Brown up 1 lb. ground mild Italian sausage, add 32 oz. chicken broth, add tomato soup/sauce, 28 oz. diced tomatoes, cook until to a boil, add 16 oz. chives and onion cream cheese spread until melted, add tortellini and cover/simmer/stir until tortellini is cooked. It's one of my favs to make.
Great seeing you guys making videos again. Miss you guys. Wow your tomato and herb garden did pretty good. Too bad all your other vegetables didn’t make it. Take care and stay safe. Hope to meet you guys the next time I’m in NYC
Try cucumbers and strawberries next year! They’re hard to mess up. Also, you guys definitely need to try fried green tomatoes if you have some on the vine that aren’t quite ripe! OMG they are the BEST!!
Not sure if you thought about it but next time you might want to peel the tomatoes. Very easy, blanch them, put them in cold water and remove the peels. Will make your sauce a little smoother.
You could’ve made sauce for the freezer and soup as well. That way, just getting it in the freezer before you left was all to do. You could even share some frozen sauce or soup bags with friends or family, whatever is easy when you return. Next time.
Nice sauce, guys! If you blanch the tomatoes for a few seconds in boiling water before blending them, it'll help preserve the red color. It looked delicious anyway :)
the tomatoes weren't ripe enough for the classic 'sauce', but you could put some tomatoes paste if you want it a darker color. To me it looked great to have w/ pasta, potatoes, polenta, beans, eggplant parmigiano, etc. -- Buon appetito.
If you cook it longer and reduce it further, it will thicken into more of a 'sauce'. But really, who cares? The important thing is that you grew and made it yourself. Tomatoes are usually a little bit harder to grow than leaf crops like lettuce and Kale, so im surprised those didnt do so well. Possibly not enough feed for them in the soil. Leaf crops like a lot of nitrogen. Either way, well done. What you have grown looks great.
Hey Guys! Great to see you again! Still have not been able to figure out why Superchat is not working when watching on my truck screen. House is looking fantastic!
I have no idea of your musical preferences, but as I was playing an LP today (you know---those black round discs), I couldn't help but think of you guys while listening to Burton Cummings "I Will Play a Rhapsody". It's on his Dream of a Child LP 1978 (before you were born). You probably have the skills to find it.
looks like alot of hard work, just go eat out. the meals in America are huge. i holidayed in texas and the meals were massive. theres a reason why many americans are big, the super size meals are incredible. and they deep fry snickers bars
Come on guys, if it is watery it is soup. If you want a sauce you have to simmer it for hours to get ride of the water. Thickness is the defense between soup and sauce. Sauce is suppose to stick to pasta. Soup will not. Cute video.
Congratulation on your marriage, I loved the teaser and now look forward to the full video. . I am having a great time following your love story. Honeymoon video was beautiful/. Today’s posting made making sauce look so easy. One thing I did noticed is you are both rather reserved and subdued, not as sparkly. Are you two and your families okay? Hope so and keep on with your cooking escapades. Love you both
I added some vinegar when I made sauce with my excess tomatoes. On another topic: seemed like you were using plastic components in your cooking. Since you seem to be aiming at healthy living and diet, I hope you checked manufacturers maximum temps for the utensils/ blender tank so that you weren't off-gassing petroleum components from the plastics.
