If I didn't know anything about BTS but saw all of them as soloists first I would never think these 7 different artists would be in a group together and it would actually work. Their styles are so different, but when they come together it's like the avengers. I'm so happy BTS has had the opportunity to show their individuality through their solo music because I think with a lot of groups they resent the fact they can't make music separate from the group and that contributes to a lot of break ups. Plus their solo music has reached audiences that are maybe hesitant in checking out a "boy band" since especially here in the US soloists are taken more seriously than groups (unless you are a rock band). I just can't wait to see what BTS will come up with after their military service. I'm saving my money now because their first tour back after their service is going to be huge. I will have to disagree with one thing you said. Not every kpop group has talent like this. BTS is set apart from EVERYBODY! There really aren't any other groups out where every single member is an awesome solo artist. This is why ARMY rides so hard for them because this is special. Glad you enjoyed.

Jin wanted a goodbye for now song before he enlisted in the military and the song was gifted to him by Coldplay (you can hear Chris Martin's vocals in the background and he had a cameo in the music video). It was initially all English but Chris encouraged Jin to re-write some of the lyrics in Korean and the result is The Astronaut. He got to perform the song with Coldplay at their concert in Argentina before he enlisted in the military. And if you didn't know BTS and Coldplay have a song together called My Universe which was nominated for a Grammy. Daechwita is actually the first part of a trilogy of videos by Agust D/Suga. The next 2 music videos would be Haegeum and Amygdala. Watching all 3 videos might help you understand the story more. I don't want to give too much away about the storyline. And if you look at the beginning of the video for Daechwita you can spot Jungkook and Jin fighting in the background. J-Hope headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago last year (his performance is available to watch on youtube for free if you are interested on their channel Bangtantv) and while he was there he met his idol, J. Cole. Before J-Hope enlisted in the military he released a collab with J. Cole called On the Street. That's another music video recommendation for ya. Yes that is youjeen singing the chorus, she's the lead singer of a Korean rock band called Cherry Filter. He also has another music video from his album Indigo called Still Life, and Anderson .Paak features in the song. He also has a concert available to watch if you are interested. He could've performed anywhere but he chose to hold the concert at the Rolling Hall which is a small venue as he wanted to have an intimate concert with the fans. Suga also has a song called Set Me Free off of his 2nd mixtape so that's why Jimin's song is called Set Me Free Pt. 2 and we actually learned recently that Jimin wanted Suga to feature on the song. I would also recommend Like Crazy from Jimin. V/Taehyung loves jazz, if you remember from the guide he plays the saxophone and he says if he hadn't been in BTS he would've been a saxophonist. Well that's not V's dog exactly. It's a dog named Rocky who looks like V's dog Yeontan because he couldn't bring Yeontan to Spain so they used a doggy double for the music video LOL. I would recommend Singularity or Love Me Again for V. I've seen you reacted to 3D by Jungkook but I would also recommend Seven ft. Latto (I don't think you've watched it). Yep Standing Next To You is from Jungkook's album "Golden". Jungkook recently was in NYC and it announced he had a special event planned and fans speculated he would be performing in Times Square so fans gathered without an official announcement. His performance was officially announced 30 minutes before the performance and thousands of people showed up. You can watch that performance too. The Astronaut never fails to make me cry, it's so beautiful. Not just the meaning and lyrics, but the melody and the chords and everything too, the sound has such a bittersweetness to it even if you didn't know the meaning behind the song.

Thing is with SMFPT2 it wasn't something we thought Jimin would do even though we were expecting something different due to all of Jimins past solos songs being so different. This Jimin was actually a big shock but it was obvious it was something he has wanted for a long time. A lot of fans tended to put Jimin in a box with certain expectations even with the different genres he has done. All have been quite dramatic with beautiful choreography. He is most definitely a natural born performer that commands the stage. I do suggest you listen to his EP, FACE in chronological order but to do a synopsis beforehand as it has quite deep meaning behind it.

The Astronaut filled my soul with love. Wild Flower made me sad and took my breath away. Daechwita made me enjoy rap (it really is my least favorite genre lol). Arson is good, but More made me almost fall off my chair - you should definitely check that one out. Slow Dancing brought me back to my childhood in the 70's and I loved it. Set Me Free Pt. 2 floored me and became an anthem of sorts. Standing Next To You has MJ and Queen vibes and I love it. Thank you for checking them out individually! Well you should listen to them singing their solo songs live. Jin sang it together with Coldplay in Argentina. V had the npr mini concert. RM also had the npr mini concert. Jimin sang like crazy, Suga sang hegeum and Jungkook sang standing next to you on Jimmy Fallon. And Jhope sang his solo arson and more on the mama award show. All of them can hold their own, that’s how talented each one of BTS members. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

All of their solo albums are worth checking out. You might not like all of the songs but believe me you will find your own hidden gems. I won't even mind if you check them out on your own but please do. They will surprise you always. That's how I remain in this fandom for years. My favourite is Jimin but what surprised me in this solo journey is that I love Jhope and V's album the most. But that's just my personal preference, others might feel otherwise, that's why you have to check all of them because you will never know who will capture your attention. But I believe they are the best as a group. My favourite album of BTS as a whole is HYYH album part 1 and 2 and that's like years back but that doesn't mean other albums are less amazing, but there are just something special about the songs in HYYH album that left a permanent mark in my heart.

If y’all are looking for recommendations, I say just go through each of their solo albums/mixtapes . Each member has 1-2 solo albums. Rm- mono and indigo Jin- only has solos, to name a few, awake, epiphany, I love you,tonight, yours, abyss, moon… Suga- agust d and D-2 J hope- hope world and jack in the box Jimin- face and he has many solos like serendipity, with you, promise etc V- layover and solos like singularity, stigma, scenery, winter bear etc Jungkook- Golden and solos Each member has many solos besides the albums/mixtapes. There’s so much that I love I don’t even know where to begin man 😭💜

So glad you enjoyed the solo work of the BTS members. Even though you are new to BTS, you are right that the solo work reflects the personality of the members. Personally, I find something I love about every solo project so it is hard to pick a favorite. But since they are aiming for different vibes, I think the each find a way to be great in their own lane.
